Peaceful Mountain setting perfect for that getaway to nature. This quiet bungalow is situated in the mountain woods in Saluda...a quaint historic town with culture and character.
Convenient location to Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway and numerous other mountain towns and venues. The Smokey Mountains of Western NC offer frequent estivals and activities year round. From floating in the Green River, whitewater rafting in the French Broad River, snow skiing at nearby areas such as Wolf Laurel Ski Resort, there is plenty to do or nothing to do at the same time. Whatever your heart desires in that moment is within your grasp.
The main floor has 2BR, 2BA, and a loft, with a basement level including a living room, bath and bedroom. Relax on the back deck surrounded by nature, listen to the sound of the wind, birds and the other wildlife that abounds. Nestle by the fireplace or relax in the hot tub! Play a board game and reconnect with family. If it strikes your fancy, travel to the Blue Ridge Parkway and view magnificent waterfalls or nearby Linville Caverns. So much to see and do nearby.
We visited Saluda, NC with friends on a cycling trip in 2012 and fell in love with the town's charm. It has so much to offer for adults and children. The natural beauty of the property surrounding this home is immeasurable! We hope you enjoy this home as much as we do.
Brooke Allison purchased this cabin in 2013
Close to Saluda, Tryon, Asheville and Greenville. There is so much to do and see. Table Rock Park, Chimney Rock, and Biltmore are just a few. Take a trip to Greenville and visit Falls Park on the Reedy. Don't miss Downtown Saluda while you are here, It has the best restaurants and shops!
There were eight of us: five adults and three little ones. The layout of the home was ideal with the loft, main level, and the lower level. Gave us lots of options for where everyone would sleep, play, etc. Home had everything we needed: nicely equipped kitchen, effective fireplace, three bathrooms, front yard for kid play. Comfortable and cozy. Great hiking in the surrounding woods (beautiful falls not far away) and along the roadways.
We would definitely go back there again!
We had a fabulous family time for a long Mother's Day Weekend. We enjoyed seeing both deer and wild turkey in the woods with our grand daughters and great bicycle rides in the area. The hot tub at the end of climbing Howard's Gap was excellent. Great place and easy logistics!!
My husband and I were looking for a good place to get out of town for Valentine's weekend and this was the perfect, cozy home for our weekend stay! The picturesque drive-up was only the beginning of our enjoyable stay at this beautiful home away from home. Being from the beach, we were pleasantly surprised to find a bit of snow of the ground upon our arrival to Saluda and it made us feel even more cozy inside the warm home. The gas logs were a real treat and we enjoyed them all weekend! We planned to cook most of our meals, so we were able to spend a lot of the time quietly enjoying the sights and sounds from the front porch rocking chairs. We even made sugar cookies one day after traveling into town. The Wildflour Bakery on the way into downtown Saluda is *delicious* and we highly recommend it for breakfast, lunch or dinner! The quaint shopping district in downtown Saluda was also fun and just what we needed to get out of the cabin for a few hours. We also picked up a pizza from Sidestreet Pizza in Tryon! Overall, this is a great place for 2-10 to stay and is a very comfortable and quiet place to take in the NC mountains! We hope to revisit again soon!
As a group of cyclists escaping Canada's cold winter, we really enjoyed our stay at the property. Plenty of room for everybody, and everything was as described (and more) as in the description. The hot tub is not to be missed!
The views were great, and the property well isolated and private. It's a bit of a climb for cyclists on some gravel up to the property, but was a welcome challenge.
I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a private getaway, and I really enjoyed the interaction with the owners. A great vacation spot!
We had a fantastic time in the mountains! The cabin was very clean and provided plenty of room for us to relax and enjoy the mountain air. We saw deer sleeping right next to the cabin nestled in the leaves!
I highly recommend this to anyone needing a break from hustle and bustle of the real world....it certainly rejuvenated us! We can't thank you enough!
My husband and I spent a wonderful few (way too few) days at the High Mountain Cabin after the hustle and bustle of Christmas was over. The cabin was simply charming and way better than we had expected. There was tons of room and each of the bedrooms was very nicely decorated. I loved the king bed. The bedding was so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook simple meals, although had I wanted to I would have been able to cook a feast and have enough pots and pans to do so. The hot tub was our favorite part! It warmed up quickly, and stayed hot, even in the freezing rain! It was great to be able to sit and relax in the hot tub after a day of snow tubing (Moonshine Mountain) and another day of Horseback Riding (Shoal Creek Stables). We hated to leave and one evening in the hot tub we made plans to come back with our three teenage sons during the summer. To sum it up in three words, :Wonderful, Wonderful Wonderful!!
The home is nestled between the historic towns of Saluda and Tyron and is about 25 minutes to Hendersonville and one hour to Ashville. This is the heart of the Blue Ridge and the outdoor activities are world class.
Cyclists travel from literally all over the world to ride in this area and you can too! George Hincapie has made the area famous as he lives and trains on the same roads and mountains. Visit his 5 star restaurant '17' named after his 17 tours de france!
Tyron has a rich equestrian history. The spring running of the Steeplechase is a popular annual event while there are nearly year-round horse shows at the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center.
Whether fishing, hiking, rafting, tubing, cycling, riding, or antiquing, eating and enjoying vineyards is your idea of a great get away, this is the cabin for you.
