Located in Searsport, home to former sea-captains, on a quite no thru traffic street, yet only a five minute walk into town, where can be found along with a maritime museum; restaurants, antique shops and a small grocery store. A huge town pier from which to fish, and boat launch is a two minute walk away. This home has three levels, with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. A large eat-in kitchen, living and loft all have south facing windows with unobstructed views of the bay. A large deck with patio furniture also faces the water. There is plenty of yard space available for young to run around. For more playing space, and only a block away and also on the water, is a four acre town park, with new gazebo and playground equipment.
The property has been in my family since 1863. This home, has been a place where some of the best memories have been created for us, and maybe will create some good memories for all who visit.
This place was so perfect for us on our trip through Maine. The house was perfectly situated and had everything we needed for the nights we stayed there. Lots of space and beautiful views. I would go back here in a heartbeat. Sue leaves the place in such great shape and is easy to work with. We did not want to leave and we recommend the place to anyone looking for a great place to stay!
My husband and I stayed here over the fourth of July weekend 2014. We loved it!! It would be an amazing place for a family. The upstairs has an awesome sitting room with 2 twin beds in it. I was especially impressed with how absolutely CLEAN it was! We had visitors saturday afternoon and that's also one of the first things they said...clean! Very well taken care of. I could have sat outside on the deck forever. Great views and VERY short walk to beach...if I didn't mind it, then nobody will mind it!! :0) The town pier was also an equally short walk away, we had a ball catching crabs from it. The street was very quiet and peaceful as was the beach and the pier. We felt like we had the whole beach and pier to ourselves! Thanks Sue!!
Stayed here with my family the last week of June 2013, and we loved every minute of it. Great location, very peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. The view of the bay from the deck was amazing. Very close to the shore, and loved spending my mornings walking on the nearly deserted beach. The house itself was very clean, well maintained, and well stocked. Will definitely stay here again.
Less than an hours drive away is Bar harbor and Acadia National Park.
