Chez Marquis Farm is nestled on the slopes of Hualalai Mountain, above the picturesque Kona Heritage Corridor which runs
through the heart of the Kona Coffee Belt.The farm is at the end of a private road, just a few minutes from the artist's community of Holualoa and less the half an hour from the principal West Hawaiian village of Kailua and the ocean.
Surrounding the Farm's plantation style main house are 1 1/2 acres of gardens filled with many exotic fruit trees, sloping green lawns dotted with many flowering plants and several small enclaves festuned with orchids. The gardens are bordered by 3.5 acres of grazing pastures. As the morning sun clears the crest of the mountain, one would expect to awaken to the sounds of the chirping of the colorful finches that dart about the trees and bushes. Breakfast would be prepared and enjoyed in a surrounding of giant palms while viewing the blue ocean on the horizon.
Walks through the gardens would produce fruits for later enjoyment and the occasional viewing of colorful flowers hidden by the garden's lush greenery. The fruits on the farm include lemons, limes, oranges, avocados, passion fruit, lychee, white sapote, longan, surinam cherries, several different types of figs, tangerines and a few different types of bananas. Also, the gardens are home to several planting beds tended by the gardener and which produce such items as gourmet lettuces for your culinary enjoyment. If you are searching for tranquility located just a short drive from the tourist heart of West Hawaii, this might be the place for you. The caretaker/owner may occupy the lower 'ohana'/ suite from time to time. He will be happy to give you a tour of the yard.
