A 2 bedroom, 2 bath (sleeps 8) family friendly beach retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean in a secure condominium complex with a pool, jacuzzi, exercise facility, poolside barbecue area and underground parking. Located on a long stretch of relatively quiet Southern California beach. Surfing, beach volleyball, basketball courts, children's playground and bike riding paths all easily accessible. Several good restaurants, local shops and markets within easy walking distance. Yoga studio across the street. A full service spa in the Pier South hotel one block away. Bike to Coronado along the Silver Strand. A short drive to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, downtown San Diego, and the International US/Mexico border.
My husband and I are native San Diegans. We purchased this condominium to retain our roots in a city we love.
Alexa Curtis purchased this condo in 2013
Our family rented in Imperial Beach Club since the property was first built. It is where my now grown children have the best memories of their grandparents. The picture attached is of my father with my four children at the IB Club pool when they were young. My father's motto was 'invest in memories'. So I did.
Imperial Beach retains the feel of the San Diego my husband and I knew as children. Relaxed, fun, friendly. My blood pressure drops 10 points the minute I turn onto Seacoast Drive. Once you arrive at the IB Club there is nothing more that you need and nothing more that needs to be done. Just open the windows and listen to the surf.
What the other reviews say is true -- a very nice place. Well stocked kitchen, lovely view, beautiful beach for walking. Very comfortable for two couples, could easily have two couples each with a small child or two. Everything was in good shape. Enjoyed the master bathroom with large walk in shower, good water pressure. LOTS of beach equipment in the closets, including a cool kite. Had good meals at the Thai restaurant across the street and a breakfast place a few blocks away. (Katie's was always packed and seemed a bit grungy for our taste).
The pics of this unit does no justice. This unit is more than affordable for what you get. It is well taken care of and was allot more than we expected. the whole complex is brilliantly layed out with an elevator and hot tub and warm pool. There was boogy boards for the kids ample place for every one to sleep. The view was awsome and we got to see a seal on the beach as well ad dolphins swimming in the ocean. Our kids are 3 8 and 11. this condo complex is RIGHT ON THE BEACH!!!!!!! We walked into the unit and it had a very clean and "vacationy" that completely set the mood for the whole week we spent there.
We had a great time at Imperial Beach. We had eight of us in the condo and it was plenty spacious. We didn't have a lot of time to really enjoy the resort due to our busy schedule. It was very secure. The appliances were sufficient but could use some upgrading. The biggest negative was trying to get out of the parking garage since our clickers worked the first time rarely and in some instances it took several minutes. I really appreciated working with Alexa.
This was an absolutely wonderful vacation to San Diego area in October with my husband and I and our 4 children (between infant and 8 years). We could not have hoped for better accommodations. We saw a pod of dolphins right out our window the first morning and enjoyed watching surfers everyday. The condo was very clean and comfortable. It also had everything and anything you could need or want. The pool is great! There is a wonderful farmers market weekly right beside the condo and IB yoga right across the street which was amazing and very inexpensive. Fabulous upscale beachfront restaurant right next door. We were far enough away from the craziness of popular San Diego tourist stops but close enough to everything to make sight seeing straight forward. One small warning if you have very young children, do be careful as the bottom windows open right by the ledge they like to sit on.
We visit San Diego often, and this was by far the BEST rental in which we have ever stayed. The location of the condo on the top floor with the balcony overlooking the beach was spectacular! Not only could we hear the waves crashing on the shore, the view was breathtaking -- the perfect setting for morning coffee and evening wine. The condo was very clean and well-stocked with everything needed for a fun, relaxing weekend including surfboards, boogie boards, bicycles, beach umbrella, ice chest, beach chairs, plenty of beach towels, beach hats, playing cards, board games and movies. We were impressed with the creative use of space and furniture to accommodate a lot of people without feeling crowded. There was even a highchair and stroller, even though we didn't need it (but good to know for future trips with the grandkids!). The shower in the master suite was huge, the water pressure was not lacking; the double sinks and 2nd bathroom were a definite plus. We enjoyed the heated pool in the complex, and the swimming area was quiet and very relaxing. We rarely had to use our car, as there are many places within walking distance for dining and shopping. All of this, and the cost was reasonable! We didn't want to leave -- in fact, we wanted to stay an extra day but unfortunately it was already booked. We will definitely consider this our first choice for future trips!!
I don't even want to tell you how great this place is, because I want to keep it my little secret :) I came here with my kids after a trip to Disney - and the beach part of our vacation was voted better than Disney by all but one of the kids! This condo is why. Alexa is a gracious and helpful hostess. Al the little extras like the tons of beach towels and boogie boards or our use were very much appreciated. If you stay anywhere in this building - you need your garage door opener to exit the garage - keep it in mind, we got stuck in the garage for 1/2 hour. Already booked for next year!
