Our home in the Crossroads subdivision is one of or possibly the only Vacation Rental near Sisters that also allows Horses! But, you don't have to have horses to enjoy the lovely setting in the tall Ponderosas. This is a newer home (Alan Mascorde Design) built in 2008 with tall ceilings and lots of natural lighting throughout. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (all with queen sized beds) with very upscale furnishings, bedding and linens (many from Pottery Barn). It also has a 60 inch LCD Television, dvd player, movie library and Cable Television. The 3rd bedroom doubles as an office (it has a murphy bed, desk with keyboard, mouse, large monitor, and a wireless and normal network hub with broadband internet access and wireless. The kitchen has 2 ovens, and a gas range and has been outfitted with everything you will need to cook up some very nice meals. We also use the property as well when we are there doing maintenance and we have ample spices, and other things that guests are welcome to use during their stay. However, if you need a microwave, we do not include a microwave for personal health purposes. There is a blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, mocojete, tortilla press, bakeware, dishware and many cookbooks.
The property has been setup to accommodate up to 4 horses, but its all one large paddock, so they should be horses that get along well with one another. We do have 4 round pen panels that could be setup as a separate stall if need be. There are 2 water troughs, a run in shed and horse safe non climb fencing with a hot wire running on solar around the top.
There is also a lovely back deck with a nice 6 person table and chairs and a lovely large weber gas grill. We also have a wonderfully relaxing hammock in the back yard.
The living room has a gas fireplace to enjoy on chilly evenings. The utility room has a nice deep sink and maytag Neptune Front loading washer and dryer to keep your clothes clean.
There is a wonderful 'man-cave' (family room) with a pool table and neon lights to enjoy hanging out playing a game of pool with buddies. This room also opens up to the outside as well.
We allow outdoor dogs, the property is fully fenced and there are a couple of kennels we have setup in the garage, NO dogs in the home.
There is a large circular driveway and we are able to get in and out without problems with a 3 horse diagonal goodneck trailer w/tack room, but super long horse trailers likely won't fit too easily. There is plenty of parking for 2 big rigs/trucks.
The home will accommodate up to 6 people. You don't need to have horses to enjoy the location or the home, none of our renters last year brought horses, and loved everything about the home, the location, access to Forest Service trails and the proximity to Sisters w/out being right in town.
We were married in the town of Sisters in 2007, standing on the bridge over the Wychus Creek in the Sisters City Park. The town holds lots of magic for us. We plan to also retire in Sisters as well, when we can stop working full time jobs.
Heather Spangler purchased this house in 2012
This home was a gift from God, we love it and hope you will too. It has a wonderful feel to it, and is open, airy and bright. Its setup for entertaining and cooks!
The feeling of being located surrounded by large pine trees is incredible. The ability to saddle up our 2 horses and ride out to hit the trails like the Metolius windigo, the peterson trail system, the four-mile butte trails and sisters tie trails right off the property make it fabulous. To then come home to sit on the deck and grill or make up a fabulous dinner and sit in the dining room are so much better than any horse camping I have ever done. For those equestrians that want trails and forest w/out the added roughing it from camping won't be disappointed.
This rental was absolutely perfect in every way. The location allowed us to drive the back roads into Sisters, avoiding all the quilt show congestion. The house was spacious and comfortable. The decor was charming and the back deck was a wonderful place to sit and relax. Thank you Heather. We would certainly stay here again.
My wife and I just spent a week with our two horses at this wonderful home. As the other reviews indicate, it is all it is advertised as; very comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the beautiful accommodations, the quietness, and the giant tub felt good on tired legs after a long trail ride. The owners are friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about horses. The horse set up is very good for two that get along like ours do. They were very relaxed and comfortable in the paddock, and we enjoyed looking out back from the kitchen or deck and seeing them happy. The fencing is superb and safe, and an added treat is the cold, clear well water. Trail rides from the back gate are fantastic - so convenient and seemingly endless. We didn't repeat a trail all week. We will definitely be back!
This house was everything as advertised. It was newer, nicely furnished and appointed, and in a very nice setting. The property gave easy access to a trail system to be used for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and riding ATV's. It's close enough to town to easily access shopping, restaurants, and the movie theater but when back at the house felt like you were away from it all out in the woods. We had a great time watching movies and playing pool. We would definitely stay again and will recommend it to our friends with similar interests.
Heather, thanks for a great stay! The house is perfect. While we didn't get any snow during our winter vacation, we enjoyed spending the chilly evenings in front of the fireplace. And our daughter loved the neighborhood playground just down the block! We're looking forward to coming back in the future and staying with our horses and exploring the trails. Thank you!
This is a great rental. We booked this for a much needed family get away with 3 generations and the house worked great for the 75 year old down to the 6 year old. The house matched the description and the pictures really don't do it justice. It is very clean and well maintained and has many extra amenities that make your stay very enjoyable. There was plenty of room to spread out for our family. The back deck is nice and very peaceful. It is located very close to many Central Oregon outdoor activities and was a wonderful place to come back to after a busy day out exploring. The owner is very efficient, friendly and helpful. We look forward to renting this property again.
This vacation home is the most amazing vacation rental I have ever stayed at. You immediatley feel at home when you enter it. It is pretty much a brand new house. The master is stunning. Oh and the beds are sooooooo comfortable. I pretty much wanted to move in and never leave. The house is extreemly clean and well maintained. The listing photos are exactly what the house looks like. You will not be disapointed and you will want to come back here again and again. I would highly recommend this house. The town of Sisters is adorable and you are a quick trip into Bend or Sunriver.
Our Vacation Rental is located on 1 acre and backs up to the Deschutes National Forest for hours and hours of riding, or hiking right out of the back gate. The property is about 3 miles to the town of Sisters where you can shop for antiquesand enjoy many nice restaurants with a variety of good food and drink. It is close to Hoodoo Ski Area for winter recreation and close to the Wychus Creek and the Metolius River Recreation areas for world class Fly fishing.
