About Linda

We built this home away from home to get away from our busy lives in CT and enjoy all of what 'Vacationland' has to offer. Relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoors of Maine. This house and property has truly been our labor of love. We are happy to share it with you!

Linda purchased this house in 2008

Why Linda chose Brownfield

We picked the sleepy town of Brownfield Maine to build our 3,000 square foot cottage because of the easy access to everything we might like to do including: the arts (music, local artists, craftsmen etc) including Stone Mountain arts Center. Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating. Less then 1 hour to old Orchard Beach, or Freeport. Shopping and great restaurants of all types. Nearly (20) Ski resorts within an hour drive. Snowmobile and snowshoe trail access directly across the street.

Just about everything you would want to do from minutes to max 1 hour away.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the beautiful park like setting, to build our home. The ever changing Saco river is mesmerizing. We have the only peninsula on the river which we go to often and sit on our swing. It feels like a golden pond. Being so close to the river allows us to witness nature in all her beauty. To see turkeys, eagles, ducks, and deer. Are all part of the beauty of this place. A small piece of heaven.

Amzing

Our long weekend at this house was everything we hoped for. We had 7 adults and 5 children and there was more than enough room for all of us. It is close to North Conway to go shopping and secluded enough to have privacy from the hustle and bustle of city life. We stayed for 3 nights and had so much fun hanging by the fire playing games and exploring the backyard even in the snow. We even ending up going tubing right in the back yard. I can't Thank you enough for letting us stay in your wonderful home and we can't wait to expierence it again this summer.

Post and Beam With Lots Of Charm

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay in your charming house in Brownfield, ME. Only about 20 minutes to North Conway and we were able to go to Mt Washington, Cranmore Mt, and across the spectacular Kancamagus Highway to see the ice castle in Lincoln, NH. The house has everything you need for family and friends with a great game room and movie watching area on the lower level and beautiful vaulted post and beam living area with extra large wood burning fireplace insert on main level with open floor plan to well equipped kitchen. Perfect after a day in the mountains. The kids loved the lofts that require climbing ladders on the top floor and there is a wonderful master suite on main level. There are also plenty of other bedrooms for family and guests. Love the decor as well. Would definitely recommend. I'm thinking I want to rent again this summer as the property is right on the Saco River as well for fishing and kayaking.

TRULY THE BEST!

  • 5 of 5

This house is by far the nicest VRBO property we've stayed in yet. We were really looking forward to a nice place to stay based on the pictures and the previous reviews, and this home is even nicer than we were expecting. The house is large and spacious enough for a large group. Everything we needed for cooking meals was available and easy to find. We skied two days and the house is very close to Shawnee Peak. We tried sledding & snowshoeing in the back yard, but the snow wasn't really quite right for these activities (too deep and fluffy). We enjoyed most having a warm place to relax by the fire in the evenings and spend time together. Our kids loved the air hockey table, watching a movie under the twinkling stars (both my boys want this lighting in their bedrooms), and the loft & bunk bedrooms. We absolutely would rent this house again and are considering a summer weekend! Thank you so much Linda!

PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

Linda, Again a perfect long weekend. We have been up here multiple times, this time we enjoyed my son's 21st birthday. It was perfect, some snow, the fireplace, nice hikes along the river. Just absolutely breathtaking. The house still looks like new and is the picture perfect log cabin. We did venture over to the North Conway side for a little outlet shopping, but the peace and quiet called us back and we just enjoyed family in the beautiful surroundings. Thanks again. Can't wait for the next long weekend. LL

WOW!!!!

stunning. It comes ready with everything you need and more. You can tell that the owners really try to maintain the cottage. It was spotless when we entered. The cottage has this lovely charm to it. There's so much to do like skiing/snowboarding, snowmobiling, grilling and enjoying spectacular views of the Saco river right from the backyard. We enjoyed this place so much that we want go become regulars. We plan on coming back for the summer to try canoeing and tubing. Linda the owner was great. She made the renting process so easy and quick. David their caretaker was very kind and helpful too. We look forward

to making more amazing memories at this beautiful cottage. Thank you so much Linda!

Amazing Place

My friends and I rang in the new year for the second year in a row at this beautiful home and plan to continue to return. There are lots of nearby outdoor activities, a great game room, indoor and outdoor fireplaces... I could go on. Tips and reminders posted throughout the house were extremely helpful and Linda is always available by phone and email. We can't wait to try this property in warmer seasons to get the full effect!
