Weather Conditions: The climate in Santorini is typical of the Mediterranean climate: generally extended periods of sunshine throughout most of the year, relatively warm and dry summers and mild and some rain in winters.
The year can be broadly subdivided into two main seasons: the warm and dry season lasting from April until October and the sometimes cold and rainy season lasting from December until the middle of March. Long periods of consecutive rainy days are not common in Santorini, even during the winter, and the sky does not remain cloudy for more than a few days in a row, as it does in other regions of the world.
During the warm and dry season the weather is usually stable, the sky is clear, the sun is bright and there is generally no rainfall. A sweater / jacket is advised, especially in April and October, as evenings often bring cooler temperatures.
More wheather information: The Aegean island of Santorini is close to Crete and as such, enjoys a very similar climate,
which is typically Mediterranean. With hot, sunny and dry summers, following by short and
mild winters, holidaymakers flock to Santorini all through the year, although visitors numbers
are at their greatest during the summer season, between June and September.
The warm and extremely favourable climate experienced on Santorini means that it is possible
to swim in the sea as early as the end of April, when the tourist season really begins.
Indeed, many locals swim and enjoy water sports even earlier than this.

What a wonderful place to stay! The house was absolutely perfect and the beach and local flavor was outstanding. It is without a doubt the best vacation I have ever been on. I catch myself flipping through pictures of the trip on occasion, almost depressed that I can't go back any time soon. Peter did an amazing job making sure we were comfortable. The house is in a perfect location to walk to all of the restaurants and is right on the beach. My wife and I are already planning a return visit in 5 years. We traveled to the other cities and would highly recommend this villa on this beach over all of them. Wonderful trip and wonderful memories. Hope it is still available on our return.
Myself and my now husband came to Santorini for two weeks in May with our baby and a party of 17 other people to get married. We decided to stay in Perissa as we couldn't afford to stay in Oia or Fira and neither could our family, but at the same time we wanted a beach in a resort that wasn't too commercial. After much research we decided Perissa was for us.
I spent weeks looking into package deals as well as private bookings, emailing many hotels etc. We wanted something practical (we were with a 7 month old baby so one room wouldn't do) but it also needed to be a bit of luxury (not too much) at a price we could afford.
The Meltemi group have a number of properties around the resort and Peter (the manager) was very helpful. He gave me quotes for all the properties but recommended the Cote Sud Villa. The price was very reasonable so we booked. This is a beautiful, roomy 2 floor villa above Atlantis restaurant (who will happily bring food up to the villa for you) right on the beach front. It had two large bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, large kitchen with dinning area, laundry, downstairs shower room and outside patio/balcony area with the most beautiful view of the sea. The villa was very clean and had everything we needed. The maids came everyday and did a really good job, left fresh towels etc. The villa was just perfect for us and I would highly recommend it for any family or couple. You also get to use all the facilities at the other Meltemi hotels etc.
All our party were jealous and wanted to stay in our villa, and often spent time there with us. We also congregated in the Meltemi Village pool which many agreed was a better hotel than where they were staying. Although we cannot comment on the rooms.
All the staff were really helpful. Especially Peter, He bought us a bottle of wine for our wedding day, arranged transfers and taxis, took me and my bridesmaid to a florist to arrange my flowers and got me a great deal, he then dropped the flowers off the next day. The most amazing thing of all was the way Peter helped us with an emergency. Unfortunately our baby got very sick and we had to fly home a week early to get him o hospital (it was either fly to Athens or home, so we decided home). Peter arranged for a doctor to come and got us to the airport quickly. He also offered us a week’s holiday free at some other time or a 5 day refund. I'm not sure this is normal practise but as far as we are concerned he didn’t need to do this and it was
