The most romantic stay in all of the wine country is this jewel box-like cottage. It accommodates only two people and is reminiscent of a European hunting lodge. Stone fireplace, radiant heat floors, steam shower, and soaking tub, rare osak carpets, custom cabinets, Turkish gold travertine, and private wine cellar. Only steps away, is a fragrant lavender garden with private 2-person hot tub, outdoor seating and a barbeque grill.
Savor the opportunity to experience the rare charm of vineyard living at its finest. Nestled in the rolling hills of Alexander valley, Grapeleaf Vineyard Estate is just a short 5 minutes from the plaza. This romantic cottage has breathtakingly beautiful panoramic vineyard views.
Awake each morning to a cup of freshly brewed cappuccino enjoyed on your private patio. Leave the stress of daily living behind and immerse yourself in quiet sounds of the 90+-year-old vineyard: the soft ripple of wind through the vines, the occasional visit of a local flock of wild turkeys.
After a day of winery hopping and sightseeing, return to your vineyard retreat and prepare dinner using the finest of local produce that you may have gathered from one of our farmer’s markets. As dusk descends over the vineyard, relax in the privacy of your hot tub with a glass of one of sonoma county’s finest wine. perhaps even an award-winning Rosenberg zinfandel, produced from our boutique vineyard.
The vineyard has complimentary WiFi, but no disrupting telephones. We can also arrange to have your cottage stocked with your favorite sonoma wines awaiting your arrival or set up massages in the privacy of your cottage. We want your stay with us to be memorable, as well as the beginning of many stays at the Mouse House on Grapeleaf Vineyard Estate in Alexander valley.

This is very unique and charming property in the Wine Country. Rarely do travelers have an opportunity to experience wine country living, by staying on a working vineyard. The cottage sits in the middle of the vineyard with views in all directions. The Mouse House was the original cottage on the property and predates the old vine Zinfandel grapes to a distant time when the property was a prune orchard. Today, the prunes are all gone, but the grapes and many other fruit trees remain.
When we purchased the Mouse House, we took it out to the studs and rebuilt it in the manor of a mini-lodge in the Black Forests of Europe (antique furnishings, Osak carpets custom cabinets)......but with all modern conveniences. ..Stone fireplace, hardwood floors, Turkish Gold Travertine counters central air; in the bathroom, radiant heat floors, two-person steam shower with glass wall, 2-person soaking tub. Outside seating area with barbeque, AND a private 2 person hot tub with vineyard views.
People tell us this is the most romantic place they have ever stayed!
Absolutely loved everything about this property! I love staying at hotels, so I was a little nervous to stay at a VRBO. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed staying here. The property is so beautiful and soothing. The house was perfect size for me and my husband. It was very cozy and extremely functional. The bathroom is gorgeous and has a great soaking tub and steam shower. It also has an outdoor hot tub that was very relaxing after a long day of wine tasting! The kitchen is small, but perfect size for coffee and a snack. One of our favorite touches was Peaches, the cat, who would occasionally greet us at our door! Everything at the Mouse House was great, we would definitely stay here again!
Our stay was incredible. The house was everything the description and pictures said it would be and so much more. It was immaculately clean, very comfortable, and the owners were very nice. We cannot imagine going to Healdsburg and staying anywhere else. The stay was perfect in every way.
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and really enjoyed the cottage. It was a short drive to the square, but felt remote and tranquil. We loved the Mr. Steam and oversized shower with bench. Also spent both evenings in the hot tub just outside our door enjoying the night sky and a few glasses of wine. The owners were great to deal with and even offered up a few recommended dinner spots when we arrived. The kitchenette is probably too small to cook a full meal, but worked great for our morning coffee and evening snacks. We hope to return in the future!
My husband and I enjoyed spending 4 nights in this cozy little cottage. Tastefully decorated for warmth and comfort. the cottage is strategically located close to wonderful vineyards and the awesome town of Healdsburg but still very private. We enjoyed our morning and late afternoon walk in the old vineyard surrounding the property. The town of Healdsburg is full of wonderful restaurant in every cuisine imaginable. Looking forward to our return visit.
