Overview

Rhinebeck House Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8. High-speed Internet, Cable TV

Charming 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom farmhouse located in the Village of Rhinebeck.

This is best of both worlds - close enough to walk to everything with a large rear yard retreat replete with BBQ grill, picnic table, Adirondack chairs and other implements for relaxation. We will even throw in a lake view at no additional cost. That's right, a lake right here in the Village! You can enjoy the view swim or try your hand at some fresh water fishing - imagine how envious your friends will be when you tell them about the 5 inches you fought to shore...

Inside the house is light and airy. Air conditioners keep you cool in summer and baseboard heat makes for a cozy atmosphere in winter. The beds are outfitted in luxurious new sheets and bedding and the decorating is eclectic and inviting. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities and way too many juice glasses (we over ordered).

High speed internet, cable TV, board games, puzzles and linens are all provided. We can even help with grocery shopping and other services - please inquire.

This is the perfect casual getaway for family and friends whether you want to explore Rhinebeck and surrounds, or hide away for a few relaxing days.

Most dogs are allowed with prior permission.

Cars are optional, the home is walking distance to everything and taxis are readily available to bring you to and from Rhinecliff station...

Please note, the property owner does not allow gatherings of more than 20 people.

Great stay close to town!

  • 5 of 5

This house offered everything we needed for our long weekend away. We stayed with our infant son, two sets of 65+ parents and two small dogs, and there was enough room for everyone. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms updated and clean.

The house is conveniently located a short walk to downtown Rhinebeck. If you're only visiting that area, you wouldn't need a car at all. We ventured to the CIA for lunch, which is only about 20 minutes away in Hyde Park.

We didn't cook at the house, but the kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need.

The only suggestion we'd make to the owners (and this is a cosmetic thing) would be the addition of curtains (even sheer curtains) or shades in the living room that could be opened and closed. The room gets fantastic light during the day, but at night, we felt a little on display for anyone walking by the house with the 'naked' windows.

Owner's Response: Based on your review the owner of the house has decided to install curtains in the living room to provide more privacy. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

Simple Perfection

  • 5 of 5

The first perk we enjoyed: the five minute taxi ride from the Amtrak station. Perk number two: not needing another taxi until we returned to the station. We literally walked everywhere, including the Beekman Arms a short two blocks away where friends were staying. They often wandered down to "our" house for cocktails, coffee, food and conversation, away from the bustle of the busy inn, which gave us time to reconnect. There were plenty of places to chat and cook and play games, and those who checked out early had the pleasure of the quiet sleeping spaces upstairs. The kitchen offered oodles of doodads and gadgets for those feeling chefy.

Everything from the property managers, to the ease of check in, to the lovely beds and perfect kitchen made this get together such a perfect escape from our busy city lives. Our only complaint is that the weather didn't allow for us to enjoy the porch, grill and lake out back. I guess we've found our excuse to come back during sunnier skies.

Rhinebeck Escape

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect get away house. Only a few hours north of NYC, we settled in quickly and enjoyed the beauty of Rhinebeck. But when you have accommodations that are as comfortable and well done as this house, it all makes for a very enjoyable stay. Even the guest info book is done well! It makes a difference when the details are taken care of and the management is just as accommodating. Thanks and will certainly be visiting again.

Lovely getaway in Rhinebeck

  • 4 of 5

My husband, our dog, and I enjoyed a few days at this lovely house. Our friends (another couple) visited for one night, and it was cozy yet spacious for all. The house was clean and nicely renovated. Although the house is on a main road, it was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, and walking our dog in the small park on the lake behind the house. A key feature for us was the short walk into Rhinebeck, with great restaurants. The property manager and owner were very responsive, helpful, and professional. We might consider another visit in the fall or winter.

A Great Retreat and Amazing Location!

  • 5 of 5

A few friends and I came here for a "girls' weekend" and had an overall wonderful experience. The management company is helpful and accommodating and took the time to answer my questions. The house was actually as it appeared in the ad- clean, simple and cozy with lots of character and old-world charm. The front porch is a great place to sit in the rocking chairs and people watch, and there's a pretty lake in back with picnic tables. The location is unbeatable- we literally walked everywhere (it's only about 3 minutes away from the Rhinebeck town center.) Super convenient and great way to experience Rhinebeck. Would definitely stay here again!

Sweet village house

  • 5 of 5

I've rented through Homeaway and other sites in the past and found that either the photos are deceiving or the home has a lived in feel. Not so with the house. The pictures are accurate and it's strictly a rental, so I didn't feel at all like I was crashing in someone else's place. The center of the village is literally a two block walk away and though the house in on the main street into town it was far enough removed to enjoy a quite BBQ out back. The lake is at the top of the hill and though it was too cold for swimming, our dog didn't mind and spent hours plunging into the water after the resident geese and ducks (no, he never caught one). The house is well appointed with everything you'd need to cook a gourmet meal in the kitchen, plenty of fresh towels and what felt to me like crisp, new sheets. Days were spent taking the two minute walk to the shops and evenings were spent on the beautiful porch with a glass of wine and some good friends. It's the perfect house for those without a car. We took the train and had friends pick us up at the station in Rhinecliff (5 minutes away) and never felt dependent on them for transportation, everything was well within reach. The staff was easy to work with and very accommodating, allowing us to check-in early and stay a bit late. We also left behind some things and the manager sent them immediately back to us at no charge. I'd love to visit this property again for another escape from city!

Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck has something for everyone. Two hours from New York City by car or by Amtrak, the village has a small town feel with cute shops and a wonderful vibe. With the Culinary Institute only 15 minutes away, the whole region is peppered with great restaurants, farmer's markets and local meat and produce shops. There are countless parks where you can take a casual stroll over looking the Hudson or do some of the most serious hiking and rock climbing on the East Coast. Rich in history, the Hudson River Valley has historical sites, mansions to tour and old towns and villages, some dating back three hundred years. You can get a taste of country life with a hayride or pick-your-own farms or explore nearby places like Woodstock, Hudson, Millbrook and Kingston. For the kids, there is the Old Aerodrome, which has antique airplanes on display and air shows. For older kids, horse farms, sportsman’s clubs, golf courses, and dozens of streams and lakes for fishing surround Rhinebeck. Bard College and the Fisher Center for the Arts is only ten minutes away.
