CHARMING, WARM, SINGLE STORY, WOODLAND HOME

Rockport House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Close To Water Activities, Hiking, Towns and Restaurants

Peace and quiet reign in this lovely, bright, well maintained home. Located between Camden (5 minutes) and Rockland (10 minutes) it is the perfect place to be close to everything, yet quietly tucked away. Hiking and swimming are 10 minutes in any direction. Nestled on 7.5 wooded acres this home provides privacy yet allows for easy exploration of the whole midcoast area.

Our home features open one floor living with vaulted ceilings in the kitchen and living/dining areas. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. The living/dining room with its relaxed atmosphere is a nice spot for kicking back and sharing stories of your day of adventure. Two bedrooms and a master bedroom suite sleeps six comfortably. New furniture in the living/dining room and bedroom 3. A pretty screened porch leads to a sunny deck with gas grill and chairs for relaxing. Step off the deck to lovely lawns that are perfect for croquet and badminton. At the edge of the lawn you will find a short woods path to explore.

If you are a lobster or clam lover, Rockport Lobster is less than half a mile from your door. Kerry will even cook your lobsters for you if you like!

Pretty Camden has fun stores and good restaurants. With it's lovely harbor it is a wonderful place to sit with an ice cream cone and watch the boats go by.

If you prefer a little more quiet, Rockport Harbor is for you. There you will see the famous statue of Andre the seal and beautiful boats. Rockport Harbor is still a working harbor, so there is always the chance you could see a lobster boat unloading their catch.

Rockland is also close by with nice stores, art galleries, and good restaurants. The Farnsworth Art Museum is a wonderful quiet day diversion.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
This lovely location, close to both Rockport and Camden, was an ideal place for a week of relaxing, shopping, hiking and sightseeing. The property is as pictured on VRBO, very spacious, with a large lawn, nine acres of woods to one side, and a large open field on the other. The driveway is at least a quarter mile in from the road, so privacy and quiet prevail. Both Rockport and Camden are high-end, quaint towns with evening events, such as movies, music, and plays. I attended a musical recital in Union Hall, Rockport, which I enjoyed. I took the short ride to Rockland which houses the Farnsworth Museum, which was marvelous. I enjoyed a bike ride around Rockport. The roads are in excellent condition throughout the area for biking enthusiasts.

Mary Lou, one of the owners, was very pleasant and helpful. She provided four pages of information on the property, getting in touch with her, restaurants and food shopping, sightseeing, hiking locations, directions. This was very helpful indeed.

Amenities in the house that I particularly appreciated were one-floor living, good lighting throughout, the gas stove, washer and dryer, screened porch, and outdoor sitting area with a gas grill.

I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to friends.

GREAT TIME EXPLORING MID-COAST MAINE, VERY COMFORTABLE CLEAN HOME, CONVENIENT YET PRIVATE

  • 5 of 5
Marylou: We had a great week in the mid coast Maine area. We found your home a convenient place to stay not only for local sightseeing, but other mid coast attractions as well. Your home was spotlessly clean, well maintained, quiet and peaceful. We ate most of our meals on the screen porch, using the gas grill several times, and enjoyed the daily visit by the large doe grazing on the lawn. Our bed was perfectly comfortable after a busy day. Your listing very accurately describes the property and the amenities, and we would highly recommend it to most anyone looking to stay
in the mid coast area.
Several times we made day trips, spending one day at the incredible botanical gardens and the Boothbay Harbor area (about an hour), and another day, enjoyed the spectacular Acadia Natl Park and Bar Harbor area. (about 2 hrs). We would also recommend the Maiden Cliff hike for most hikers, and
we had a fun but rainy day in Rockland at the Farnsworth/Wyeth and the Lighthouse museums.
We also especially enjoyed the "Duck Trap" shop in downtown Camden with the many hand carved
birds and nature creations. We could have spent weeks exploring the many hidden gems, whether they were natural features, local restaurants, shops, museums, art studios, antiques shops, etc.
Thanks again for a great week.

Owner's Response: Hi Dan and Ann,
Thanks for staying at our house and taking such good care of it! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. The screen porch is such a special spot to eat or sit and relax, especially if the doe makes an appearance! The midcoast area is truly wonderful, I am lucky to call it home. I hope you will visit again!
