Pretty Camden has fun stores and good restaurants. With it's lovely harbor it is a wonderful place to sit with an ice cream cone and watch the boats go by.
If you prefer a little more quiet, Rockport Harbor is for you. There you will see the famous statue of Andre the seal and beautiful boats. Rockport Harbor is still a working harbor, so there is always the chance you could see a lobster boat unloading their catch.
Rockland is also close by with nice stores, art galleries, and good restaurants. The Farnsworth Art Museum is a wonderful quiet day diversion.
Nearby Camden (5 minutes) has Windjammer Days. Nearby Rockland (10 minutes) has many summer festivals, North Atlantic Blues Festival in July, the Lobster Festival in August and the Maine Boats and Harbor Show also in August.
There are also Windjammers and Schooners offering day sails in Camden, Rockport and Rockland.
The Rockland breakwater is a beautiful walk where you will see all types of boats and maybe some seals.
