Enjoy Casa Rosita, a contemporary two-bedroom two-bathroom townhouse situated in the heart of downtown Merida. From the street, step into the beamed high-ceilinged living room where you can settle back on the comfortable sofa in front of the wall-mounted flat TV. From the living room walk out on to a sunny, open air patio leading to the downstairs bedroom and kitchen.
In the bedroom, relax on the comfy queen size bed or open your laptop at the small desk to check the internet. No need to live out of a suitcase while you can spread your things out in the wall to wall solid wood closet and on the granite countertop and in solid wood drawers in the en suite bathroom.
Try a new Yucatecan recipe in the totally equipped kitchen, complete with granite countertops and bar with built in stovetop and oven. Don´t bother lugging home those heavy bottles of purified water as the kitchen is also equipped with a reverse osmosis ultraviolet light water purification system.
Take a dip in the cool, filtered plunge pool or just sit out on the covered terrace and listen to the birds sing while you enjoy the small colorful garden and shady sour-orange tree.
Upstairs, admire the evening stars on the open air terrace outside of the master bedroom while you relax on a comfortable patio chair. After a luxurious shower surrounded by plants in the en suite bathroom, stretch out in the master bedroom on the pleasant king size bed and catch a movie on the flat screen TV.
Originally from San Diego, California, I have lived in Mexico for many years.
Debbie Jo Proulx de Nunez purchased this townhome in 2008
This house caught our eye because of its great downtown location.
Casa Rosita was such an ugly duckling when we found it but the young architects at Attiko transformed it into a modern, comfortable and beautiful little house
Great accommodations and ample space for two couples. The location made it easy to get around town. Being close to a hotel, we were able to book our tours to the various archeological zones and a working henequen hacienda. We enjoyed the typical Yucatan cuisine in several of the restaurants near the main plaza. Jo, the owner, welcomed us at Casa Rosita in spite of our delayed arrival due to our late flight. Jo thought of everything we could need to make our stay very comfortable and that we did not need to pack or buy in town. We will definitely try to book again and will recommend Casa Rosita to our friends.
My wife and I are just finishing two perfect weeks in Casa Rosita. In sum, it is beautifically furnished and equipped, perfectly located, immaculately clean, and most comfortable for one or two couples. It's great location allows you to walk anywhere with ease. From our first contact, the owner, Jo, was extraordinarily accommodating and helpful. It's clear she takes enormous pride in making sure her house is perfect for her guests and it shows. We would highly recommend Casa Rosita to anyone and we look forward to return visits!
Just got back from a 3 weeks stay a Casa Rosita ! great location, very clean ,great host ! I will be back ...
Well appointed immaculate home. Jo has the home equipped with everything a visitor might need. The location is close to the Centro area, a few minutes walk and we found ourselves in the midst of all the local activity. We plan to return and Casa Rosita will be our first choice.
Thank you, Jo, for providing such a great place to stay in Merida. Our family (parents plus kids 11 and 15) just loved the house. The location is great - easy walking distance to shopping and sights. And the house is equipped so well for travelers - we made good use of the umbrellas, ziploc bags, and laundry! The kids loved jumping into the little pool, and we all enjoyed cooling off in it. The bedrooms are comfortable and everything we needed was right there. This is a great place to stay in Merida.
Just the most relaxing home to rent in Merida. The owner has seen to every comfort you would need and more. We have stayed here before and were most impressed with how clean everything was. It was great to arrive and find a bottle of chilled white wine waiting for us in the refrigerator. Debbie, the owner remembered our taste and even had some unsalted butter in the frig as well.
She has always been right on top of anything that needs to be taken care of. There is a binder full of information that is very helpful to first time guest. We will be returning soon, as we have just purchased our own home in the centro city. However, we will always recommend our guests who want to spend a week or more in the Yucatan to the "Casa Rosita", and we know they will be well taken care of.
Order an aromatic coffee while you sit in an outdoor café under an ancient arch or a flowering tree and people-watch. Stroll down quaint narrow streets in the morning and perceive the fragrance of chile habanero charring on a comal. Wander past a neighborhood tortillería and watch steaming hot tortillas fall off the creaky conveyer belt and into the attendant´s hands. She´ll expertly wrap up a quarter-kilo´s worth for you to fold around slices of the lusciously ripe avocado you found earlier in the local market.
Shop for vibrantly colored handcrafts, hide from the sun in a cool dark church, buy a delightfully soft cotton hammock and vow to continue this gentle life-style when you return home.
On the balmy evenings, revel in the traditional music and dance; dine al fresco at top-notch restaurants featuring Yucatecan or international cuisine. Stroll to the main plaza, hire a romantic trio and serenade your Significant Other. Unforgettable!
