Anini Kai, is a luxury beach home located on the North Shore of Kaua'i (TVNCU#-4219 & SP-2011-13). It is spacious, comfortably furnished and well-maintained. All bedrooms have a cable TV with wireless internet throughout. The home is a family-friendly retreat only 100 steps from scenic Anini Beach and Reef. The largest reef in the Hawaiian Island chain shelters Anini Beach providing fantastic swimming and snorkeling conditions, gentle wave action, and year-around warm water. Large waves can be found a short distance east of the home for those who surf. Guests find it easy to relax at this location and should feel motivated to explore the neighborhood, beautiful sandy beach and shallow water features of the inner reef zone. Anini Kai has its own grove, spice plants and large back yard. Fruit trees include orange, mango, starfruit, grapefruit, lime, lemon, lychee and banana. Tropical foliage and flowers enclose the entire estate.

The nearby surrounding area away from the home is a kaleidoscope of world-renowned beaches, surfer paradise, tropical gardens, wildlife sanctuaries, historic villages and world class golf courses. The resort community of Princeville is about four miles west of Anini Kai and has a grocery store and numerous other avant-garde shops, galleries and restaurants. Stables for horseback riding as well as sites for zip-lining through tropical trees may be found on the way to Princeville. Hanalei Village is about seven miles northwest of Anini Kai and is one of the coolest places on earth. It exhibits stylish boutiques, jewelry and curiosity gift shops as well as restaraunts offering everything from fine seafood cuisine to pizza and burgers. Hanalei is the epicenter of the North Shore and its bay and beaches are perfect for surfing, sun-bathing, cycling, kayaking, paddle-boarding, photography and sight-seeing.

A short distance south-easterly from Anini Kai is the town of Kilauea and popular Kilauea Lighthouse. The lighthouse is a National Historic Site and has amazing views of the ocean, telescopes for whale watching, souvenier shop, botanical garden and sea-bird sanctuary.

Windsurfing and deep sea fishing are available to experience a short distance down the road from Anini Kai at Anini Beach Park. A favorite and unique activity at Anini Beach is to snorkel with the sea turtles and to explore for seahorses and wide variety of colorful reef fish!

Anini Kai is a County approved vacation rental with number-TVNC#4219. The home is located on Anini Road and is the second house on the left as you enter the primary area of the Anini Beach homes enclave. We provide a 24/7 Property Manager (Phil Burchett #808-652-9909) in the event of problems.

About John F. Wark

John is a Registered Professional Geologist and Principal Owner of a General Contracting Firm, Oil Company and Real-Estate Holding Company head-quartered in Spokane, WA. John holds degrees in Geology and Philosophy. Shannon is retired and keeps herself occupied taking care of the family accounts and holdings. After having had traveled and worked extensively throughout South America and Europe during the last 20 years we found Anini Kai on the North Shore of Kauai in 2009. Following a number of extended vacations at Anini Kai we jumped at the opportunity of purchasing the property from a long-time friend. We have found that the Spirit of the people of Kaua'i, the spectacular flora, fauna, scenery and beaches are unmatched by anywhere else in the world. We and our children love to visit Kaua'i at every opportunity and cherish everything the Garden Isle has to offer. We believe our home, neighborhood and beach allow the perfect blend of privacy, colorful gardens, climate and sporting activities to allow oneself to easily adjust to the peaceful pace of the Island and Aloha Spirit.

Anini Beach is perfect for people of any age whether alone, a couple, or family with young or older children. Our children have always enjoyed their vacations at Anini Kai and are always wanting to get back to this Island retreat and its lifestyle. Anini Kai is the perfect home and setting for short and long-term vacations and is located on one of the most enticing beaches and reef complexes of the Islands and entire world. Walk 100 steps-enjoy Paradise!

What makes this house unique

A short sandy path between two beautiful beachfront estates allows access to the beach and ocean. An outdoor shower is available for use at the rear of the home. Following beach and exploring activities come home to lounge on the spacious lanai then make a tropical meal in our fully-stocked kitchen or prepare an outdoor feast on the BBQ (don't forget to pick spices to flavor your meals from the backyard).

The home and grounds are always immaculately manicured and kept by our friend and Property Manager (Phil) who lives with his wife in Kapa'a. Phil is always willing to answer guest questions and provide guidance for the house.

This was my families 2nd visit to Anini Kai so we already knew it was fabulous! But as with the first time the clean, homey feeling of Anini Kai just amazes me. Every amenity we could have wished for was there! And I love that each visitor is able to elave a few things behind knowing that someone else can use the items. We enjoyed a few extras and left a few extras ourselves! What a wonderful place to relax with comfort and just a few steps from the beach. This time my husband and I got to see a wild pig in the backyard feeding one morning...actually quite exciting. We will be back, it's just the perfect place!

Lovely and relaxing rental

This was a lovely home in a perfect vacation - we loved walking barefoot to the beach every morning. Perfect beach for families with smaller children, as it is protected from larger waves by a reef. The back yard and front porch were also very family-friendly. Clean and well-organized property, easily found everything we need. Our toddler adored waking up to the local chickens and roosters...learned the phrase "Cock-a-doodle-doo" on this trip, and has been repeating it over and over since. Thank you!

Enjoyable place on the coast of rural Kauai

The accommodations were very comfortable. Across the street from the beach, with lots of snorkeling and even some surfing down the road at "Summer's." Great ocean access, would recommend it for people wanting to get in the water and enjoy the beach.

Great beach house!

We loved Anini Kai, and we were wishing we had more time there. We were a group of seven family/friends--four 20-something's and three 50-plus, for a five-night stay. All of us were comfortable, with a couple of the younger ones sleeping on pull-out beds. Tons of room throughout the house, with a well-appointed kitchen that we used for meal preparation every day. We were really pleased with the cleanliness of the home. The back yard is full of fruit trees and very beautiful. Access to the beach was so easy and so close, with few other beach goers besides our group. The beach area was lovely, and the water was like glass for snorkeling! The roosters calling out at 4:00 a.m. were a bit noisy, but we got used to them and actually appreciated them as part of the overall peaceful, relaxing vibe that we felt the minute we stepped onto the property. We want to repeat this vacation soon!

Thank you for sharing your home with the 4 of us leaving the snow behind. Your home was easy to find (even in the dark). We were familiar with Anini Beach and the 100 steps was perfect. Great swimming! A little noisy with some construction across the street. We are looking at the calendar to book again next year. This home would be perfect for family vacation. Mahalo.

100 Steps Excellent Rental!

100 Steps is a perfect house to get away from it all and just enjoy what Anini Beach has to offer. With a great backyard, easy access to the beach and a great Lanai helped us all just relax and have a great time. The House was nice and cool at night with the windows open and the ceiling fans going just feeling that Hawaiian breeze. We had the best sleep.

This is a great rental that met all of our needs, we were traveling with a 7 month old and we felt right at home with what the rental provided for our daughter, also all the extra gear that this rental provided helped make our beach days that epic! Kitchen supplies met all our cooking needs and everyone was comfortable and enjoyed their stay. Being 10mins from Princeville made it easy to shop for groceries and Hanalei Bay just another 10mins is an awesome site to visit. The only down part is we didnt get out that much! ha! Anini Beach was all we needed.

John the owner was more then accommodating and swift to answer any questions/emails we had for him. All Listing information was great and photos were true. We did not have one worry at all!

Our home is 100 steps away from pristine Anini Beach and Reef. The beach and reef are accessible via a sandy path from the house. When exploring, short interesting trips include traveling north on the Kuhio Hwy towards Princeville and Hanalei. Along the route you'll find horseback riding, zip-lining, fruit and vegetable stands, helicopter rentals, restaurants, golf courses and fantastic scenery. Princeville is about four miles by road from Anini Kai and is a splendid well manicured resort community containing fine hotels, golf courses, tennis courts, shopping mall, galleries, restaurants, grocery store, fuel station, post office, library and bank. Sunset at the St. Regis Hotel is a must for anybody visiting the Island. Three miles past Princeville is the historic town of Hanalei, which is a mecca for surfers, musicians, artists, movie people, tourists and locals. Hanalei is an ideal place for browsing and shopping for sports wear, art & jewelry, ukuleles, snorkel gear, bike rental, groceries and food. The town of Hanalei offers a wide array of restaurants serving everything from fine seafood cuisine to pizza and Bubba Burgers. Hanalei Bay is wonderful setting for watching or participating in surf tournaments, learning how to surf, kayaking, picnicking and just hanging-out. To the south of Anini Kai is the Kilauea Lighthouse and surrounding bird sanctuary. This site is one of the most popular in Kauai and has amazing views of the ocean, gardens and wildlife. Windsurfing and deep sea fishing are available down Anini Road at Anini Beach Park. Activities that may be enjoyed a short distance of the house include, swimming and snorkeling with sea turtles in the protected reef area of Anini Beach; whale watching; fishing; photography; paddle boarding; cycling; shelling and world class golf.
