About Rick and Linda Greenawalt
My wife Linda and I live in the nearby town of Pearland. We have two college-aged sons who attend the University of Houston and Texas A & M. We use the house ourselves when our schedules permit and personally oversaw the complete renovation and refurnishing of the home last year. I will often work here on Fridays and skip the hustle and bustle of my Houston office. The internet at 13 Palms is faster than the wi-fi at work so I never skip a beat. If I want to take a break, I just shuffle over to the beach less than a minute away.
Rick and Linda Greenawalt purchased this house in 2005
Why Rick and Linda Greenawalt chose Galveston
We have owned three beach houses since 2002. We sold the first two that we located in another subdivision. The first one we owned was completely wiped out by Hurricane Ike in 2008. 13 Palms is a very solid home that has survived two major hurricanes, including Ike. We have modernized the home so that you can be right at the beach but have all of the today's modern convienences right at your fingertips. The house has plenty of parking, is near enough to everything for shopping, dining, etc. but is located in the quiet, high-quality Pirates Beach Subdivision. We are located on a cul-de-sac that terminates at the beach. There is no through traffic and always a breeze coming off of the Gulf. We have three levels of decks - a large space below the house with two picnic tables/bbq grills and a large deck with beach views, two decks on the second level for eating and drinking and sunbathing in a more covered setting, and a third sun deck for sunbathing and star-gazing on top of the house - take your pick.
What makes this house unique
This house has not been long on the rental market but repeat customers are now surfacing. 13 Palms is close to everything but has the virtue of being located in a well-maintained subdivision with a high-quality clientele. It is quiet and private. It has everything that one to two families could need to enjoy a beach vacation and yet still be connected to the modern world if need be.
