The apartment is situated in an original 18th Century townhouse located within the UNESCO World Heritage Area in City Center Amsterdam. The apartment is quiet and fully self contained with private entrance at street level in a local street just around the corner of the Prinsengracht. First floor with windows at both sides, kitchen, bathroom, living room and (separate) sleeping room with 'French' balcony.
The Jordaan area is a famous local area in the very heart of the Golden Age with many shops, restaurants, food stores and café's. Everything on walking distance. Anne Frank House is one block away as well as the trendy neighborhood de9straatjes.
The apartment has an ideal location in the Jordaan, just around the corner from the Prinsengracht and at the edge of the "9-little-streets" shopping district. It is close to public transportation but because of its central location, you can walk to many of the city's attractions. If you like antiques, don't miss the indoor antique market at the nearby Elandsgracht (also a great street for grocery shopping).
The two rooms are separated by a spacious galley kitchen and a modern bathroom with a separate toilet. It was clean and everything you would need for a comfortable stay was available. Frans, the owner, lives in the building and can answer any questions you may have. We enjoyed our stay and couldn't have asked for anything more!
My husband and I stayed here and it was great. The location is fabulous and the apartment is very comfortable. Loved the view of the West Church and sound of the bells. Much better value than a hotel. The kitchen had everything, even olive oil. I was surprised that the space seemed bigger than the pictures. The two living areas have pocket doors so could easily sleep three. All in all would definitely stay here again!
An excellent choice for tourist visits to Amsterdam. Our booking and meeting arrangements went smoothly and dealings with the very helpful owner were easy. Although it’s in an older building, the apartment has been renovated and was clean – but there is an “Amsterdam” staircase to climb to get to the first floor. The kitchen and furniture are fine and the bathroom is adequate. There’s space for two, but there’s no ‘living’ area and no TV (which weren’t problems for us). The location is safe and very convenient since you can easily walk to most places in central Amsterdam. The street is calm but has lots of character. There are many shops, cafés and restaurants in nearby streets.
Our apartment was situated in a beautiful part of Amsterdam and great for getting to attractions and shopping. Public transport was accessible and cafés great value!
The apartment is located in the famous Jordaan area one of the liveliest and famous local districts of the citycenter. You will find bars, cafés, restaurants and all kinds of shops in the direct surrounding of the apartment. Most Museums are close-by, especially the Anne Frank House situated on the other side of the Prinsengracht, just a few steps away. The apartment has a great view on the Westertoren like Anne Frank did during her stay in 'het achterhuis'.
