Mostly great

Positives: There is much to be said about the convenience of this location. This was an excellent location for us to park the car and explore Vancouver. We walked across the street to the stadiums, across the block to Science World, took the water taxi from there to Granville Island, and explored Chinatown (and the beautiful Garden). We had a grocery market and many restaurants to choose from.

Neutral: The unit is ok, but it is a bit worn in spots. The sheets on one bed were full of crumbs and a little stained. That was a little discomforting, but easy to fix... we popped them in the washing machine and grabbed a different set from the closet. If using the unit for six people, some of them need to be small children or adults ready to cuddle.

For improvement: We did not get the address or instructions until I asked for them the day before our arrival. I prefer to have that information earlier so that I can prepare. I had pre-scheduled a time to meet the owner, but I was called and told to just go to the unit and get the key. When I arrived, the unit was locked, so I had to call and wait for the owner. It is good that we did meet, because I would have never figured out the elevator fob or the garage gate access or the parking spot on my own. There were no instructions inside the unit to help with any of the other details, so we did not know where to find the pool, or how to handle trash, what would be expected of us at check out, etc. We did park in the garage, but got note on our car from the next space over telling us that our vehicle was too large for the spot and would be towed if we parked there again. Other reviewers commented that a binder would be nice, but was still very little info provided (which could be shared via email or on a website easy enough). We did get the wi-fi password when we got the check in instructions, so that was helpful.

We checked out nine days ago and have not gotten our security deposit back. There was no information about when/how that is refunded, so I sent a message and was told that it would take 14 days. That would have been good to know, too.

All and all, I do think we'd stay there again. It was a great home base and we had a fabulous weekend. I appreciated the other reviewers mentioning the street and rail noise, so I went in expecting it. Hopefully this review helps others push for a bit more information up front so they can relax more and work less on discovery.

Perfect location

This condo is in the perfect place if you need to access the sky train, science centre, anything downtown. The condo building amenities are fantastic - the pool is HUGE and the gym is really good. There are many items that need to be maintained or replaced within the condo but for the price it is still worth it. I have sent a list of items to be maintained or replaced to the property manager.

Great location for discovering Vancouver

Located in the International Village just next to the Chinatown-Stadium sky train station this apartment will be a perfect base camp for discovering all Vancouver has to offer. Convenient parking with elevator access to the apartment makes it easy to explore the surrounding mountains and nature if you arrive by car.

Really enjoyed the accessibility to Vancouver from this well located condo. It's an easy walk to so many of the things that make Vancouver such a great city.

Great place to hang out and eat in.

This place has a lot of space for 4 or 5 people to stay. It is right across the street from Roger's Arena, Tinseltown, the Stadium/Chinatown Skytrain Station, and Costco. Whether you are going to a concert, a hockey game or just needing a home base while you bomb around Vancouver via the skytrain. . . this place is perfect. We had a couple minor issues, but when we contacted the owner, she came and fixed things up for us. The only other thing that may bother people would be the traffic noise from the skytrain and major roadways that are outside the window, 7 floors down.

Mixed feeling

The rental procedure can be improved to avoid the trouble that I encounter. 3 days before the check-in, I got an email to inform me that Bryna would meet me at the property for the check-in at 4pm. Bryna also asked me for my cell phone number. I let her know that I had a new carrier and I wasn't sure that my phone would work in Canada. She acknowledged that and gave me a code to buzz in. We were at the building at 4 pm and was buzzed in. We waited for 15 minutes in the lobby as I expected someone to meet us and showed us the condo. We didn't see anyone so I buzzed again and asked for the condo number. The gentleman told us the condo number and informed us that the keys were in the condo. We got to the condo keys and garage opener. There was no instruction. My phone, my wife's phone and my sister's phone are on the same network and there was no signal so we couldn't make phone call. I sent out an email asking for parking information since it was my only mode of communication. I buzzed again but it went to voice mail. At that point, I decided to park in the garage to unload my and let my daughters in the condo for use the bathroom. I was up stair for about 1 hour. When I came down to the garage, our van was towed. I got a taxi and luckily, the driver was very good and he took me to the lot to get my van back after paying $100 fee. I checked my email again and there was no response. It didn't help that there was a UFC fight that night to there was no off street parking. At this point, I had no idea where I would park my van overnight. My Dad checked his bag and found out that he brought his phone along (he doesn't use his phone often) and there was signal. I called Bryna and to her credit, she apologized and resolved the situation right away. She emailed me the rental reference with parking stall number and password to wifi along with other instructions.

I think there should be a print out of the rental instruction in the property. Many of rental places put them in a binder and leave it on the counter with the keys. The would avoid a lot of confusion

The property was excellent. It was very clean, comfortable and close to everything (mall, market ...). There was enough room for 5 adults and 2 kids ( 6 & 4 yrs old). The kitchen was well stocked. I couldn't ask for a better place. It got noisy at night because people yelling on the street (probably drunk). It didn't bother us. The location is central so we expect that.

Owner's Response: Hi Phong, We apologize for the situation that happened, we generally email our guest 48 hours before their arrival and there is a copy of the check in sheet in the unit, however, occasionally the guest takes it with them, we strive to ensure this do not happen again and will leave additional copies in the unit.
