OLD TAHOE CHARM AMONG THE PINES - SLEEPS 6

Tahoe Valley Cabin Rental Photos and Description

A Jewel in the Woods

2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Cabin nestled among the Pines in a woodsy neighborhood, situated on 3/4 acre. Front deck surrounded by several large trees. Hand laid interlocking paver driveway offers a place for children to play off the Street. A Horseshoe pit in a perfect setting allows spectators to relax and watch the action from the deck.

Built in the early 1960's for about $4000.00, this quintessential, cozy Cabin is Tahoe Charm at it's best, all Knotty Pine interior, tongue in groove, walls, ceiling in a natural finish and hand hewed ceiling beams. Quilt and handmade throws add to the ambiance. Living Room & Dining area anchored by a free standing gas log fireplace and 2 sofabeds. Although small the Kitchen is very workable, Gas Range, Dishwasher, Microwave, Refrigerator and Garbage Disposal, also very well equipped with kitchen essentials. There is one Bathroom downstairs, shower-tub arrangement with 'Indoor Plumbing'. Stairs leading to upstairs Bedrooms are steep, there were no building codes requiring ADA stair spacing in the 60's for Tahoe. The large Master Bedroom has a King size bed, covered with a Handmade Quilt and second bedroom 'Dorm Room' has a Queen bed and two Singles. Unfortunately there is no Washer or Dryer even at 1200 sq. ft. no provision was made however we are certainly open to suggestions.

if you are looking for a tranquil. relaxing experience after an active day in beautiful Tahoe or a great family Cabin, this jewel is for you. We would love to have you come for a visit.

We purchased the 'Cabin' which was built by Grandparents who decided to travel the world rather than retire to Tahoe, we wanted to keep it to the family. Our children grew up visiting Tahoe often and we celebrated many fun times and with the Grandchildren as well. We have renters who have been coming back for 25 years and now their children's children are visiting.

Patty Derobertis purchased this cabin in 1978

Location is perfect, large lot, house is somewhat secluded from busy street. Close to restaurants, grocery store, hiking & biking trails.

Quiet surroundings and a feeling of seclusion, lots of Bluejays and Squirrels, an occasional Chipmunk during summer months. A great feeling of vacation, whether on the deck reading a Novel or coming in from the slopes, yet close to the action if you chose.

EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
Everything was very good - starting from communication with owner and till the end of our stay.

The cabin was found quickly and everything was just in place - plates, paper towels, knives, clean beds, sheets, bath towels (hint - bring your pair of slippers though, the floor may feel cold in the kitchen where is no carpeting).

Heater worked fine and we were not cold during all our stay (few days in January). No problems with hot water or anything.

This is not modern house with brand new furniture, it's rather romantic cabin where you can find guestbook with messages from days long ago. And everything was in good condition, clean and well maintained. The house definitely has its own style.

TV (DVD/Cable) was not big but we were not interested in watching it so we didnt try it. We used Wi-fi though and it was ok.

I would recommend this place and stay there again next time.

During the Summer Tallac at Val Halla, tours and children's activities during the day and evenings in the Boat House, over looking the Lake, Movie Classics or Specialty Musicians. Beautiful grounds for a picnic and view of the Lake. A secret treat to include in a Tahoe vacation.

Biking and Hiking trails abound on South Shore. A leisurely paced trail starting at the end of Clement thru the meadow will put you at Fallen Leaf Lake in about 75 minutes. Bike rentals and a wonderful bike path are located about a mile on Hwy 89. And during the summer a Tram runs along Hwy 89 to take you to Camp Richardson where you can visit one of the Worlds best 'Ice Cream Shop' or stay on the Tram to see Emerald Bay and points beyond.
