The corner tower, pierced by a group of three small windows, and the porch enclosed by arches are also references to the medieval romance. It was owned by Séminaire de Québec appointed by the King of France and than the french aristocrats.

It is next to a large urban park on Plains of Abraham commemorating the battles of 1759 and 1760. where the french lost Quebec to the English. Officially recognized by UNESCO in 1985 as a world heritage city.

A 3 minute walk and parallel to the historic Plains of Abraham & St. Lawrence River and in downtown Old Quebec City. Grande Allee also known as the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the most famous street in Paris, France. With its cinemas, cafés, luxury specialty shops and clipped horse-chestnut trees, the Champs-Élysées is la plus belle avenue du monde ('the most beautiful avenue in the world').

What makes this estate unique

New to Quebec City

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time in the city. Thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations. Service was wonderful, any concerns were immediately addressed, and spotless (even down to the baseboards). Perfect location to get away from the hecticness two blocks away. The park made for a great place to get an early morning or sunset walk. Definitely would return to the place.

We are 4 women, friends since childhood, and we feel so lucky to have found the Majestic Bernieres Condo for our July 2014 trip to Quebec! Selina, with whom I connected a few months before our visit, couldn't have been more helpful with information & tips. We required 3 bedrooms & 3 baths, for 2 of the women wanted separate quarters. The condo was ideal, & everything was smooth & pleasant including financial arrangements. When we arrived, both Chris & David assisted with our orientation. Being unfamiliar with the city, we didn't understand ahead of time how fantastic the location would be! Within an easy walk are found most of Quebec's major attractions, and we explored them all. Selina told us about a small patisserie on Ave. Cartier, and we happily marched there daily to get fabulous fresh croissants, which we had with our coffee as we enjoyed the view of the sprawling Plains of Abraham out the dining room window. The multitude of walks we took were filled with enjoyment of the outstanding architecture, Quebec's many parks & the quaint & charming historic areas. Our quarters were wonderful, sparkling clean & well-stocked with everything one would need. All we required was the food we would consume at the condo, and there's a nice supermarket (the Metro), also on Ave. Cartier. Our favorite eating place was the Moulin de Saint-Laurent on the Ile d'Orleans, a nearby island in the St. Lawrence that is dotted with farms & charming villages since it supplies Quebec's fruits & vegetables. Superb food and drink! After lunching there one day, we later chose to return for our farewell dinner. Sit on the deck by the waterfall if you can! Back in Quebec we were pleased with every restaurant or cafe we chose. The Musee de la Civilisation was wonderfully interesting, especially the Inuit exhibit & films. The local populace was friendly and helpful. Our French was limited, but we found that most people spoke some level of English. Often we got our point across in a smattering of both languages, accompanied by many smiles. It will be our pleasure to recommend the condo (and the management’s other properties) to anyone heading to Quebec. How wonderful it was to have our own little "home" rather than 3 separate hotel rooms! It was the perfect solution for our unique situation, and again I have to say how fortunate all of us feel that we connected with Selina, Chris and David for our trip to Quebec! Au revoir, for we hope to return very soon!

Enjoyable Stay

  • 4 of 5

We rented this property for 5 days. Rental arrangements were smooth, arrival very efficient, and generally the apartment was as advertised. The location is excellent and allows easy access to all of historic Quebec City. Restaurants and services are close by, as are markets and rental car agencies if needed. The apartment is roomy and we found it to be very clean.

I hesitate to give a five star rating for two reasons. First, a lovely family with two daughters lives upstairs, and try as they might, in and old building with wood floors and metal stairs outside, noise is inevitable. They were up late and up early, and leaving for school in the morning down the outside metal stairs eliminated any need for an alarm clock.

Secondly, the bathrooms for bedrooms two and three are somewhat odd. Clearly added later to the apartment, the showers and toilets are on elevated platforms requiring quite a step up. One shower is OK in size, the second is tiny. As to the toilets, they are elevated in small rooms, but with no door and a very low overhang. Bumped heads were common unless you paid very close attention. A few more towel hangers would also be useful.

In general, we found the living room and kitchen areas functional and useful. It was a good base for our visit.

Owner's Response: Bonjour Monsieur Peverall, We express our empathy with your concerns. The day after you arrived, I had checked in to see if you and your friends were well settled and if you needed anything but I did not hear from you so I assumed you were okay. We do realize the washrooms need some upgrading and we are happy to let you know this work is going on at present. We try very hard to make sure that every guest has the best experience. This is very important to us. Thank you for staying with us and we are glad you enjoyed your visit. Meilleures Salutations, Selina, Chris et David.

Reunion in Quebec City

  • 5 of 5

My wife and two other couples -- all roommates and friends from med school days -- met in QC for four days, staying at this condominium. It was at the near end of March and we expected some remnant snow. Instead, we found ourselves in a great deal of snow. Fortunately the condo is adjacent to the Plains of Abraham and probably the best public cross country skiing around. We had a terrific time and the scenery and location of the condo was superb. The living areas were clean, cozy and spacious. Each room had it's own bathroom too which was nice. We were carefully checked up on to make sure there were no problems. For those going in winter, we'd heartily recommend the dog sledding. It was a highlight for us and just 20 minutes away by car.

Reality exceeds fantasy!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many VRBOs, both as a family of 5 as well as a husband and wife couple. Although most have been very good, none have come close to the level of excellence as the Majestic Bernieres Condo. The location directly across from the Plains of Abraham within easy walking distance of anywhere you'd want to go is ideal. Although our family of 5 was in Quebec primarily for Winter Carnival, because of the central location we were able to see so much more of Quebec than we had anticipated. The photos of the condo do not do it justice! The 3 bedrooms with 3 baths are extremely clean, nicely appointed and well equipped. We felt as if we were staying in a French chateau. But the best of all was the very personal and thoughtful service which started with the initial response to the VRBO inquiry through the personal, as in real live person, greeting upon arrival with more information and helpful hints than we knew we needed. Clearly, effort had gone into anticipating our needs and answering them before they became needs. The three days that we spent in Quebec was way too short. All of us have vowed to return to Quebec and, of course, to stay at the Majestic Bernieres Condo. We can't imagine staying anywhere else! Kudos to Selina, Chris and David for creating a reality that exceeds the fantasy!

Absolutely fantastic home, location, and service

  • 5 of 5

Our group of six adults had an absolutely amazing time while staying here. The home is so beautiful, and the location is perfect. We walked to everything, and couldn't get enough of the amazing parks, homes, restaurants, and shops. The home itself is very spacious, and the three bathrooms were wonderful! Selina was so very helpful in making our arrangements a dream, and Chris met us as we drove up and welcomed us with open arms! What a delightful start our glorious experience in Quebec City! We would definitely stay here again, only longer next time, as our two-night stay definitely left us wanting more :-)
