Two spacious bedrooms with king size beds comfortably sleep up to 4 people. Further single beds are available upon request. Both bedrooms have large sliding glass doors providing direct access out onto the sundeck, pool and garden. There are two bathrooms finished to a high standard with black granite surfaces, modern fittings, waterfall showers and a handmade terrazzo bath.
The large living room has plenty of space and facilities - a large teak sofa and armchair, a 40' plasma TV with cable, a DVD player and a Hi Fi stereo system. The Western-style kitchen has all mod-cons and the dining area is suitable for up to 6. A full maid service is offered and a driver and chef are available on request.
There is a private infinity edge swimming pool, large sundeck with sunbeds and sunshade, a BBQ, hand-carved table and chairs and a well-kept garden. A perimeter wall, dotted with plants and night lights, makes this a perfect private space for a relaxing tropical break.
I live in north west London and work in media and advertising as the day job. I bought the place back in 2009 off-plan and it was completed in early 2010.
It's been a great little project for me and my guests generally seem really satisfied. Luckily I use a dedicated management company out in Phuket to keep the villa in good condition and look after my guests.
I had been to phuket a couple of times - the first was at the tsunami time when I was actually with my family on a speedboat on the way to phi phi. We were very lucky to say the least. Since then I've had a bit of an affinity with Phuket and the people (and food!).
In 2009 I started looking at investing in a villa. This was actually the only one I would buy. If I didn't get the price I needed for this then I wouldn't have bought any other. I think it's down to two things.
First, I just loved the architecture. Although balinese in design it look perfectly at home amongst the rubber plantations and palm trees. I really liked the pitched roofs and the ceiling that gives in the master bedroom. I also really liked the way all the doors open up fully to the outside so it feels like one space. Also the pool is just amazing. It stays warm all year but it's just cool enough to offer relief on a really hot day.
Secondly, I think the location is great. I won't lie, being right on a lovely beach would have been better but it would have cost more than double. Although this spot in Rawai is a bit out the way, I figure if you are going to want a hire car to get around and taxis in the evening then you might as well be in a really quiet area that's a bit further out. It's still only a few minutes from beaches and restaurants but, day and night, it's so quiet and peaceful at the villa. Just standing around in the pool with a beer can be pretty special...
Villa Lombok is situated on Soi Suksan II in the Rawai area of Southern Phuket. Surrounded by plam trees and rubber plantations, it is away from main roads and over-developed tourist hotspots and offers an oasis of tranquillity and peace. Despite this, it is within easy access of the best of Phuket -
