Rosies Place is a completely renovated studio apartment with a luxurious look and feel, especially designed for people who want to have a nice holiday break in Amsterdam.
Rosies Place is situated right in the city center of Amsterdam, within the so-called canal ring. Our house is tucked away in a small quite street of the Jordaan. Around the corner you will find restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, markets and lot’s more. Also the museums are close by. Even closer is the Anne Frank House.
Rosies Place is on the first floor of our house, accessible by a steep staircase. It’s more than suitable for 2/3 adults or 2 adults with 2 small children. It has a king size bed and a sofa which we can convert into a single bed or double bed. You have a dining bar, which sit 2/3 adults and a design rocking chair. Candles for a romantic touch are everywhere in Rosies Place.
The kitchen is fully equipped, beside the dishwasher (really important), two induction hobs, fridge, microwave, you will find coffee, tea, milk, sugar, oil and herbs. If you want we can provide breakfast at any time in the morning. Just let us know.
The bathroom has a big rain and hand shower. Towels, soap and shampoo (from Rituals) are provided for you. If you need clean towels just drop them outside in the washing bin and you will have clean ones immediately.
The terrace has SUN ! What else can we say. Sun in the morning for your coffee, sun during your lunch, sun in the afternoon drinking your beer or wine. But he it’s Holland so keep your fingers crossed that the sun will shine :-)
On arrival you will find in Rosies Place :
A nice bottle of white wine (or red if you prefer)
Coffee from Nespresso
Tea from Mr. Jones
Dutch candy (drop) and cookies
Plus a citymap of Amsterdam.
Your bed is already made up and bathroom linen, soap and shampoo (from Rituals) is provided for. Of course you have free WiFi in Rosies Place.
Hi, We are Astrid (43) and Rick (42), we have two sons, Joris (12) and Jesse (5). Rick is born and raised in Amsterdam and I moved 25 years ago to Amsterdam. Before we settled down we have travelled the world and stayed also at other people houses. We like to think that by staying with locals you’ll see a different city. Of course we will help you to explore the city and if we have the time we will show you around. If the weather permits, and if our schedule allows it we can go for a boot trip or have a drink at our rooftop.
Astrid and Rick purchased this studio in 2001
It was our dream that one day a small piece of Amsterdam would be ours. Once back in Amsterdam we decided to chase our dream. 13 years ago we bought our town house, which was build in 1897 and stood the test of time really well.
Located in the best part of Amsterdam, called the Jordaan. Our street is really quiet but around the corner you will see the most picturesque street with all little restaurants, bars and shops with in the background the Wester Church. For us one of the reasons to buy the house.
We had the pleasure of staying at “Rosie’s Place” in early December when the weather can be a bit challenging in Amsterdam. Each evening we looked forward to returning to our “home away from home” which provided such a cozy and comfortable accommodation after a day of museums and walking. The space was perfect for us. It is beautifully planned and designed providing a top-notch small kitchen, lovely bathroom, and the very best of mattresses. In addition there was plenty of space to store luggage and clothing in a cleverly designed closet area. With windows on both sides the space seems larger than its actual dimensions and provides a light and airy feel. The design is clean, modern, and spacious. It is meticulously cared for and every little detail seemed perfect.
And .... the very part of the accommodation is the fact that Astrid and Rick are excellent hosts. The apartment is perfectly private but they are available at all times to help with questions, concerns, and “inside-advice” about Amsterdam. The written material and array of traveller’s magazines and guide books provided in the apartment was very helpful. We got a tip on a current photography exhibit from an Amsterdam magazine that we would not have know about and it proved to be a wonderful find.
The location of the apartment could not be better. The Jordaan neighborhood was filled with little restaurants, bars, and shops and all the major sights and museums were within walking distance. The little streets of the Jordaan are so charming and the markets (the Saturday Food Market and the Monday Cloth Market) were so fabulous that it is worth planning to spend some time close to “home” if you should be so fortunate to rent “Rosie’s Place”.
We give it our highest rating and very much hope to return someday.

We stayed at Rick and Astrid's Apt. for the very first time, and it was terrific. Not only is the apartment well-appointed, but it has everything that one needs for a week, (or more) long stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one needs to cook with - the stove is GREAT - dishes galore, fridge, oven, microwave, pots of every kind, utensils...it's amazing. The entire apartment is lovely and is designed with efficiency in mind...lots of towels in their wonderful bath, living room with TV, books, etc., comfortable bed.
This is a place with people who are committed to showing visitors a very good experience. We are convinced that the location is the best in town, for those of us who want to explore the best local shops, Museums, and restaurants. And, Rick and Astrid are warm and inviting and are available to talk to and socialize with, if one is interested in finding out everything Amsterdam-ish. And, their two sons are a delight ! But they never intruded upon us in any way.
We will be back for sure, as Rick and Astrid worked hard to give us the best travel experience for our time in Amsterdam. They were the downstairs neighbors who were there if we needed them. Thumbs Up !

After many email correspondence wherein I kept changing my travel dates and itinerary, Rick and Astrid were very patient and answered all of my questions. When my sister and I arrived early in the morning, we were greeted by the sweetest family! They are great hosts, offering us maps, umbrellas, espresso, and even a bottle of wine. They love Amsterdam and you can really tell. Definitely ask them for restaurant recommendations!
The room itself was impeccable. My sister and I had a hard time leaving, and we would find ourselves stopping back to relax after our daily adventures before heading back out for the evening. It was spotless with clean bedding, the bathroom comes fully equipped with shampoos and body wash, and took full advantage of the kitchen, which came with all amenities (including stove top and dishwasher).
As Rosie's Place is located right in Jordaan, we were conveniently located for everything. The Anne Frank museum was barely a block away, and two streets down was shopping, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. We were only 5 minutes from major tram stops, so we were able to navigate our way to Van Gogh, the Verzetsmuseum, and the Kattenkabinet in under 15 minutes. The area is beautiful, so take advantage of Rosie's location and walk everywhere. You won't experience Amsterdam fully until you walk through it (or ride your bike).
I will definitely be staying here again. RIck, Astrid, thank you again for the early morning ride back to the airport. My sister and I will see you again soon!
My wife and I had a wonderful week-long stay at Rosie's Place. Our hosts, Astrid and Rick, were always helpful but never hovering, the location in the heart of the Jordaan is perfect, and the apartment itself is modern and extremely well kept up, on a quiet street, and within a few blocks of several excellent restaurants. We could literally walk to any of the major Amsterdam attractions (museums, historic homes, etc) and didn't need to use the excellent Amsterdam tram system. Rosie's Place has our highest recommendation and we hope to return in the near future.
Nice apt, strategically located in the city centre of Amsterdam: we visited the city only on foot! So nice! Very quite area! The apt has a small balcony where you can have dinner or just a cup of tea... so tipical! The owners are very kind and the flat is very clean. Raccomended!
In our travels, my husband and I have stayed in many apartments, but none as nice as Rosie's Place.
Astrid and Rick, the owners, live on the ground floor and the top two. Rosie's Place is the floor above the ground floor. Comfortable and modern, the self-contained apartment comes with lots of extras: everything from plush towels to fresh coffee. It is a pleasure to sit on the couch and read, listen to the bells from the nearby church, or sip wine on the balcony. The Jordaan is wonderful, safe area--quiet but with restaurants and shops nearby.
What distinguishes Rosie's is what the owners provide: advice and assistance, going well beyond what is expected. Because Rick and Astrid (and their sons) are on site, guests live among the locals. They welcome visitors like friends. If you are looking for an impersonal dwelling, where an agency takes your money and offers no support, Rosie's is not for you. If, on the other hand, you like the idea of sharing a historic house with a lovely family who will help you with your plans if needed, look no further. In fact, email Astrid now. Don't delay. Once the word gets out, demands to stay at Rosie's will soar.
Located in the Jordaan, center of Amsterdam. Anne Frank museum and the Western church are 5 minutes walking. Lots of restaurants, bars, shops and galleries around the corner. Local markets on Monday and Saturday morning.
