2 Bed, 1 Bath, sleeps 12. Cute house, 6 beds. Free Bikes. Centrally Located

This cute 2 bedroom house with chain-link fenced huge back yard is set among ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss.

The house has the best location on the island to access anything you want to do. Take an easy half mile walk to Redfern Village shops and restaurants. Bikes are included (helmets recommended but not provided).

·It's about 950 square feet with six (6) double beds, a great front porch, hardwood floors and tiled bath and kitchen, huge backyard and the best new 46' and 39' LED hdtv flats on the wall in every room, Polk soundbar and subwoofer in living room, ATT internet, and lots of parking in the yard. A charcoal grill and picnic table are in back yard under a huge magnolia tree. Four free bikes are on your porch. No smoking indoors.

All new furnishings and floors refinished in 2013-- we installed 3 new double beds, PLUS 3 new double futons in living rooms, with 10' coil spring cushion/mattresses, plenty of sheets, towels, cookware, dishes, and full size washer/dryer, beach towels, four beach chairs, cooler. The kitchen has a coffee pot, blender, and a toaster oven, which are all new, plus of course a full size refrigerator/freezer and range. This is a great deal but there has not been time for total remodel since purchase April, 2013 before the summer season, so-- there is no dishwasher but there is a double sink.

·Easy way to the beach: Address is on Stewart Avenue, St. Simons Island, Georgia 31522. 1.8 miles to the beach. Walk or bicycle or drive, sidewalk all the way, over 300 free parking spaces at beach. There's a beautiful pavilion built 2008 with rest rooms at the Old Coast Guard Station, and about 300 parking spaces, all free.

·Easy reservations: Call or email for address to send check for half the total, or, for us to send paypal request for you to use credit card. If you cancel, we refund all we can recover from another tenant.

·Easy rates: Shown below, easy to calculate, just add up days/weeks/months desired, and that is grand total, nothing added except a $65 cleaning fee.

·Easy to get in: You get a numerical code to enter house, and you are in fast. No paperwork to sign or chasing realtors begging for keys.

·Easy To Stay Connected: The owner provides your own AT&T high-speed internet connection.

·Easy To Enjoy Island With Owner's Tips: Owner sends an email with suggestions for inexpensive day trips, restaurants, secret pier for fishing (see photos of Davis family catch below--this is not the 'Village' pier), best beachfront playground, even a low country boil recipe.

·There are three areas to stay on St. Simons Island, all are within two miles of each other: Redfern Village, East Beach, or the Village. This house is in the Redfern Village area, directly in between the island's biggest shopping center (Harris Teeter Grocery and movie theater) and the Winn Dixie Shopping center. When on vacation, you'll probably go to the beach only once a day but to a store or restaurant at least twice a day. So overall but especially for stores or restaurants, this Redfern Village is the best location. The second area is near the Village (not Redfern Village), but there is no actual beach at the village, only huge rocks on the beach. It is a pretty area to walk or dine, but if you stay there you will absolutely have to drive to the Redfern Village area for stores groceries and restaurants. The third area you can stay is East Beach, near the King and Prince resort. You're near the beach, but you will be driving to The Village to walk around and to the Redfern Village area for shops, stores, and restaurants. There are over 300 free public parking, spaces at East Beach, so there is no particular need to stay near the beach since everything is so close.

Why Chris chose St. Simons Island

The beach condos are fine, but it's better to walk to restaurants and stores, and drive a mile to the beach. Quiet beautiful neighborhood with big yard lots of parking--nicer to have a house than a condo!

Highly recommend-especially for couple, small family, or pet owner!

The house on Stewart Avenue was perfect for our small family and provided a wonderful home away from home for our toddler. Having two bedrooms was ideal for us, although there additional beds/futons should you have a bigger group. (I will say that if you do have a larger group or family, remember that there is only one bathroom and two actual rooms. The additional sleeping options are in the living room.) Other than bringing a few amenities that we'd normally bring, the house had everything we needed (cookware, linens, etc). It was great not having to bring our own beach towels and having access to a washer/dryer. Very convenient! We stayed for a week, so we did purchase extra toilet paper, detergent, trash bags, and paper towels.

The house itself was very clean and in a safe, quiet neighborhood. We felt comfortable walking day and night, and everyone we encountered was very friendly. The location is wonderful-a short walk to several areas and a brief drive to the beach. The fenced yard is large and perfect for dogs.

We are familiar with SSI, but the owner provided wonderful suggestions in regards to restaurants and possible activities. He was very helpful and worked to answer any questions we had regarding our stay.

We had a wonderful trip and would definitely recommend this property!

Great house, great location!

My husband and I stayed here with another couple last week, and we absolutely loved it. The house is in a small, quiet neighborhood that is close to many shops and restaurants- including my favorite local bookshop. We were able to ride our bicycles to the village, the beach, and to dinner each night!
When we arrived, everything was extremely clean and open, the rooms are small but bright, and the kitchen had every accessory we could have wanted- including a washer and dryer. We took our dog, and the fenced in yard was the perfect addition.
My favorite part about this home was staying in a neighborhood where residents lived. It was very quiet and homey feeling, and we spoke to several of our friendly neighbors while out walking our dog each morning. Give me a lovely home like this over a tiny condo any day!

Perfect Small Home on the Island

My wife and I came down for a quick weekend visit and really enjoyed our stay here. The description of the property and photos were exactly as we found it. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. Be sure to check out Southern Soul BBQ (http://www.southernsoulbbq.com/) very close by for phenomenal BBQ. We'll definitely rent this place again on our next visit to the island.

Nice Little House in a Quiet Neighborhood

Nice, clean small house not far from Redfern Village and the beach is less than two miles away. The backyard is beautiful and completely fenced with a huge magnolia tree in the middle providing shade. The air conditioning worked extremely well as did the hot water heater and everything else. We took our three dogs with us and the fenced back yard was perfect (we took poop bags with us to keep the yard clean the whole week). The beds were comfortable and clean and there are plenty of linens and towels. My only one concern was that there are 3/4 steps down out into the back yard and only one side of the steps had a railing (actually two railings ?) and the other side had nothing and was a drop off to the ground. This would concern me if I had small children. We were very happy with this rental and have already booked another vacation to return here in the Fall.
