If this house is booked, please click on one of my two condos either http://www.vrbo.com/31552 or http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p264661 This cute 2 bedroom house with chain-link fenced huge back yard is set among ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss.

Two bedrooms but: two double beds in one bedroom, one double bed in other bedroom, and THREE double futons with coil spring mattresses in living room, so TOTAL OF SIX DOUBLE BEDS.

The house has the best location on the island to access anything you want to do. Take an easy half mile walk to Redfern Village shops and restaurants. Bikes are included (helmets recommended but not provided).

--HOUSE INFO--It's about 950 square feet with six (6) double beds, a great front porch, hardwood floors and tiled bath and kitchen, huge backyard and the best new 46' and 39' LED hdtv flats on the wall in every room, Polk soundbar and subwoofer in living room, ATT internet, and lots of parking in the yard. A charcoal grill and picnic table are in back yard under a huge magnolia tree. Four free bikes are on your porch. No smoking indoors.

All new furnishings and floors refinished in 2013-- we installed 3 new double beds, PLUS 3 new double futons in living rooms, with 10' coil spring cushion/mattresses, plenty of sheets, towels, cookware, dishes, and full size washer/dryer, beach towels, four beach chairs, cooler. The kitchen has a coffee pot, blender, and a toaster oven, which are all new, plus of course a full size refrigerator/freezer and range. This is a great deal but there has not been time for total remodel since purchase April, 2013 before the summer season, so-- there is no dishwasher but there is a double sink.

--EASY TO BEACH-- Address is on Stewart Avenue, St. Simons Island, Georgia 31522. 1.8 miles to the beach. Walk or bicycle or drive, sidewalk all the way, over 300 free parking spaces at beach. There's a beautiful pavilion built 2008 with rest rooms at the Old Coast Guard Station, and about 300 parking spaces, all free.

--EASY RESERVATIONS-- Call or email for address to send check for half the total, or, for us to send Paypal request for you to use credit card. If you cancel, we refund all we can recover from another tenant.

--EASY RATES-- Shown below, easy to calculate, just add up days/weeks/months desired, and that is grand total, nothing added except a $65 cleaning fee.

--EASY TO GET IN--You get a numerical code to enter house, and you are in fast. No paperwork to sign or chasing realtors begging for keys.

--EASY TO STAY CONNECTED--The owner provides your own AT&T high-speed internet connection.

--EASY TO EXPLORE-- Owner sends an email with suggestions for inexpensive day trips, restaurants, secret pier for fishing (see photos of Davis family catch below--this is not the 'Village' pier), best beachfront playground, even a low country boil recipe.

--WHY STEWART AVENUE?-- There are three areas to stay on St. Simons Island, all are within two miles of each other: Redfern Village, East Beach, or the Village. This house is in the Redfern Village area, directly in between the island's biggest shopping center (Harris Teeter Grocery and movie theater) and the Winn Dixie Shopping center. When on vacation, you'll probably go to the beach only once a day but to a store or restaurant at least twice a day. So overall but especially for stores or restaurants, this Redfern Village is the best location. The second area is near the Village (not Redfern Village), but there is no actual beach at the village, only huge rocks on the beach. It is a pretty area to walk or dine, but if you stay there you will absolutely have to drive to the Redfern Village area for stores groceries and restaurants. The third area you can stay is East Beach, near the King and Prince resort. You're near the beach, but you will be driving to The Village to walk around and to the Redfern Village area for shops, stores, and restaurants. There are over 300 free public parking, spaces at East Beach, so there is no particular need to stay near the beach since everything is so close.

Why Chris chose St. Simons Island

The beach condos are fine, but it's better to walk to restaurants and stores, and drive a mile to the beach. Quiet beautiful neighborhood with big yard lots of parking--nicer to have a house than a condo!

Just like home.

We made a spontaneous trip to the beach with our dogs, and couldn't have been more comfortable. A true home. Wonderful backyard. Sweet neighborhood, great for walking. We saw beautiful coastal birds (herons, egrets) just around the corner from the house. Easy drive to beautiful beaches; walk to food and shopping. Owner was quickly responsive to initial inquiry, and provided excellent info about everything you need to know including restaurant advice and a custom google map of the island!

Feb. weekend getaway

My friend Alex, my dog Belle, and I really enjoyed our long weekend in St. Simon. Neither of us had been there and we both will look forward to visiting again. The house was a great space for us. We were both pleasantly surprised by each room and the items available to use. The house was easy to find from both directions (I came from NC and he came from FL). The house was also very close to some great restaurants, a grocery store, a dog park, and the beach. This was the first time I have traveled and brought my dog, but I'm so glad she was able to be a part of the trip. There was so much space in the back yard for her to run and be on vacation to . Though we kept our stay very simple, it was cool that we had access to bikes, a grill, and space to spread out.

I would plan a trip to the area again and recommend staying at this cozy home.

The house was close to all the things we wanted to do. In a very quiet neighborhood when we walked around neighborhood all the people were friendly. The house itself was very clean and was a welcome site after a full day of sightseeing. The next time we come to georgia we will be staying here. We have told all of our friends and our neighbors are acautally thinking about saying here.

Perfect for our needs.

Here's a clean, comfortable and convenient option for your next trip to SSI. My husband and I are moving to St. Simons and we're staying here in advance of closing on our new house. Real estate deal delays happen. Thankfully, Chris the owner of this cute VRBO cottage, quickly responded to our mid-stay text requesting an extra 2 nights (preventing potential panic mode!). So today ... instead of scrambling for another place to stay until we close - we happily hopped on 2 bicycles (included with the rental) & rode by our soon-to-be-new-house, shopped for some little Christmas gifts at Orvis, and ate lunch at Zaxby's. Yay! Thank you Chris! We're happy, our pups are happy - it's all good here!

Cozy Spot Near Airport & Redfern Village

This is a nice, older but well-maintained bungalow that is very near the airport and Redfern Village shopping. The unit has excellent audio/visual equipment, and the loaner bikes made it very easy to get around. There was a strange occurrence when I arrived in which the front door lock wouldn't accept the key, but I was able to immediately contact the owner who sent his maintenance person over, and even though we ultimately had to call a locksmith the delay was minimal. I would recommend this spot for a couple or perhaps a small family looking for an affordable place on the island.
