We are long-time residents of Ocean Springs. There is no other place we would rather live. There are so many things about Ocean Springs that we love...the friendliness of the people, Tato Nut doughnuts, boat rides to the islands, kayak rides on the bayou, shopping downtown, the harbor on summertime weekends, etc.
Wendy Hollingsworth purchased this cabin in 2013
This property is located in the city limits and at the back of a small neighborhood, but from the back porch, it feels like it is nestled in a quiet country setting. The deep back porch is a great place to unwind with a good book or just to watch the tide roll in and out. Your coffee just tastes better on the back porch of the cabin. And, if you need anything, we are right next door to help.
We had the perfect weekend. Though the weather was a bit chillier than we had hoped. We were content and comfortable in the cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed Mississippi but felt no need to leave the cozy cabin. Having the beautiful view of the bayou and a great DVD collection. It was the perfect retreat from the snow and craziness of everyday life. Going home this morning was truly sad. We would have loved to stay forever.
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for to get away from the city and relax. The cabin itself was very clean, bright, and comfortable. We loved the sky lights and beautiful view of the bayou out of the back windows. The cabin was well appointed with cookware and dishes, which made cooking and eating breakfast and dinner there very enjoyable. The bayou was beautiful. We watched many birds (cardinals, bluejays, woodpeckers, even a big heron) and saw fish jumping. If it would have been a little warmer, kayaking would have been amazing. It was wonderful just to spend time watching from the window. Wendy was very quick to respond and was very accommodating. My dog enjoyed the visit as well. We had a perfect holiday and will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time on our 4 day stay. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary while there. The cabin was nice and clean. The view of the bayou out of the back of the cabin beautiful. My wife and I like to hike and there's Davis State Park 15 minutes away from the cabin. We had our 2 dogs with us and the cabin and outside area was very pet friendly. My wife and I recommend this relaxing getaway for anyone who wants a quiet time.
Great place. Quiet. Ocean Springs was only about 10 minute drive with great restaurants. The owners were friendly and helpful. Our dogs enjoyed the place too. Thanks for a relaxing weekend!
My wife and kids (2-15 yo) drove from Pennsylvania to Mississippi. We prefer to stay off the beaten path and experience what nature has to offer. This cabin was ideal. Beautiful cabin and a beautiful location. 10 - 15 minutes from the beaches but away from the traffic. Mornings we spent fishing or kayaking on the beautiful Davis bayou. We several large red drum, croakers and alligator gar. One morning a small 2 foot gator decided to watch us fish. The day we were leaving a larger 10 - 14 ft gator was up out of the water eating it breakfast. Was really really cool. Don't worry they are more afraid of you then you are of them. You can't get close to them and they don't want to get close to you. At night the sounds of the bayou wildlife where awesome. Absolutely would stay again. The owners do live next door but only saw them on the day we arrived when they greeted us. Very nice people. Thanks Wendy expect us back.
