Sozopol is one of the oldest and prettiest Bulgarian coastal towns. It is located 35km south of Bourgas Airport.
Today this charming town is a popular beach resort best known for its casual ambiance, pretty harbour, modern marina, two child friendly sandy beaches, distinctive cobbled streets and 19th-century stone and wood houses. The beautiful town is lined with pavement cafes, bars, local and international restaurants. as well as museums, art galleries, archeological ruins, traditional shops, boutiques, street markets, and parks.
These attractions are just a 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive away, or should you prefer not to drive, taxis from the apartment into Sozopol town are widely available and cost only 10 lev (£5) each way.
During September the town hosts the Apollonia Arts and Theater Festival which really shouldn't be missed.
For the children there are parks, mini fairground rides, internet cafes and a choice of fabulous safe beaches with jet skis, scuba diving, and other watersports. In addition there is a water park in nearby Primorsko.
