1300 sq.ft. North Chattanooga bungalow featuring 2 large bedrooms, jetted bath in master and claw foot open bath in second room as well as half bath and laundry. Nice front porch to enjoy coffee in the morning or an evening sunset and a beautiful rear deck for dinning and socializing with spectacular views.
I grew up in Milwaukee, WI and moved to Colorado in 1983 after many years out west I needed a change and moved to Chattanooga and fell in love with the place. Circumstances put me back in CO but I still spend about 1/2 my time here in Chattanooga.
Art purchased this bungalow in 2007
When I moved here I wanted to be where the action is and able to walk or bike to all of it and this property has it.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! Walk or bike to most anywhere downtown 4 blocks to Frazier Ave shops and restaurants and the Walnut street bridge. My home also has a nice covered front porch and a rear deck to enjoy some fantastic views of the city and surrounding mountains. The layout is very comfortable, nicely decorated and cute with off street parking.
My husband and I took a grandson and his buddy to Chattanooga for 5 days and loved staying in this convenient location just across the river from downtown and close to all the sights we wanted to visit. The house is also close to grocery stores, shops and bike rental stops, but the steep hill that it sits on was challening for doing any walking (and for unloading the car). It was very hot while we were in town, so we appreciated the whole-house A/C and the overhead fans. The kitchen was nicely equipped but the eating area is tight for 4 people. All of the appliances are first-class and easy to use. Loved having the washer and dryer, too! The owner did a wonderful job of updating and remodeling the interior of the house and the beds were very comfortable. Fortunately, the 2 teenage boys preferred playing games to watching TV in the evening because there were a very limited number of channels. We did find the VCR and the computer desk very useful. The boys chose not to sleep together in the queen bed, so one of them slept upstairs using the air mattress that he brought. We were very content with this house and recommend it to other tourists. It was "so nice to come home to" after a busy day of sightseeing or caving.
Two adults and two teenagers chose this property for our trip to chattanooga and rafting adventure on the ocoee river. It was an excellent choice. Plenty of room, nice washer and dryer to clean wet clothes, close to downtown, nice deck with great sunset views. Comfortable beds.
Stayed with our nearly 2-year old for a quick trip to check out trains and the aquarium. It is close to downtown and has off-street parking. House was clean and with a nice lay out. The neighborhood is hilly--so if traveling with small kids or you are not used to walking, be aware! We did walk to Aretha Frankenstein's for breakfast, and it was worth the incredibly long wait! We also enjoyed sitting on the back porch while our son played with his new trains.
We chose this listing because of its location in North Shore, across the river from downtown Chattanooga. We love Chattanooga and visit frequently, and this time we wanted to try something different other than the hotels downtown. We are so glad we did! We loved Art's little house. It's located just a block or two from the pedestrian bridge in the North Shore neighborhood, which is one of our favorite places to visit. AND it is located very close to one of our favorite Chattanooga eateries, Taco Mamacita! We found the house very clean upon our arrival, and furnished with everything we needed. Our son slept in the front semi-private bedroom and loved it. We all enjoyed the large clawfoot tub upstairs! We had plenty of room, and even though we were in an urban area, it was quiet at night. We enjoyed riding our bikes from the house and across the bridge to downtown. It was nice to be able to park the car and just leave it and walk/bike everywhere. The house is on a hill, and has a very nice view of the city and mountains from the front porch, especially at night. Art was very helpful with all aspects of the booking. We would definitely choose this rental again.
P.S. We especially enjoyed our visits from the neighborhood kitty!
This was a delightful house to stay in. Very cozy, everything as described and SO convenient to everything in the City. And, a beautiful view of the city from the front porch! Can highly recommend.
This house was perfect for a guys weekend in Chattanooga. The location of the property is very convenient to all the restaurants and attractions in the Northshore and Downtown areas. The beds and furnishings were comfortable, and it was nice to have 2 1/2 bathrooms in the house (none of the other properties we considered had that). The front porch has a great view of the mountains to the south and west, and the back porch was a great place to sit and enjoy a beverage at night. If we had another day, we would have taken advantage of the nice gas grill on the back porch and grilled a few steaks. As I mentioned, the location is very convenient - it's a 5 minute walk to Frazier Ave, a 10 minute walk to Aretha Frankenstein's (delicious!), and a 10-15 minute walk across the river to all the attractions. My friends and I had a blast, and we would definitely stay here next time we go to Chattanooga for a guys weekend. It would be a great place for me and my wife to have a weekend retreat as well.
3 to 4 blocks from the TN river shops at Northshore and everything downtown Chatt. has to offer. You'll love it everyone does.
