Beautifully remodeled Kona Alii with direct ocean view on Alii Drive. There is a sand beach on the opposite side of Alii Drive for dipping your toes in the ocean. Kona Alii is walking distance to many restaurants, shops, beaches, convenience stores, luaus, post office, groceries, banks and more. Lounge on the teak lanai furniture as the ocean breeze wafts past, or stroll downtown and browse the shops. This unit includes parking, basic cable TV, phone, wireless internet all in a secure entry building with elevator. Residents enjoy semi-private sundeck lounge on 7th floor roof. The pool has lounge chairs and BBQ grill. Secured entry allows only residents to enter the elevator, unit levels and pool.

We chose this property for the ocean view and easy walking distance to most everything we need.

Some of the nicer points here are the recently refurbished pool and common areas. We've also extensively remodeled the interior of our unit. It's also very nice to have an elevator even though we're only on the second floor, it's very convenient. Having a washer/dryer in the unit is another nice convenience.

AMAZING PLACE TO STAY

The condo was clean, bed was very comfortable, no noise noted from anywhere outside the condo if windows and doors were clean. We arrived early in a rain storm and had no problem getting into the condo early. Any questions were answered quickly. We were extremely happy with the our stay. Locations was perfect. Watched the whales from the Lani. Dinner watching the sunset every night. Great security. Private assigned parking for our rental car. Having a dishwasher, washer and dryer in the condo was perfect. First time I came home with no laundry. Can't wait to come back.

We had a very nice stay at the Kona Alii. The condo was clean and comfortable and in an excellent location for accessing restaurants, the farmers market and shopping. It was a bit noisy for the person sleeping in the front room, but those in the bedroom had no noise issues at all. Loved having parking, laundry and a kitchen – which we wouldn’t have had a hotel.

NOISY

No a/c. The description does not mention no a/c. Gets very warm in the condo and have to keep the lanai door and the windows open all night to get the condo to cool down. Very noisy at night with the traffic. You will need extra fans and ear plugs to sleep. No blinds on windows over the bed. Light from outside keeps condo lit up all night. Had a geco on the kitchen counter and lots of small black bugs in kitchen. Location to shopping and restaurants is nice.

Owner's Response: I am glad you liked the convenient location to the restaurants and town. The view from the condo and lani to the ocean had to be great. My property manager and I are available for any problems you might have. For the most part condos and houses in Hawaii don't have air conditioning as we depend on the natural breezes we get off the ocean.the unit does have ceiling fans including one over the bed. The ocean breaking on the shore across the two lane street usually helps with any noise you might get off the street. I have two units in that building and this is the first real complain I have had on the noise.

NICE LITTLE CONDO IN GREAT LOCATION

We had a great stay at the Kona Alii. The condo is in an excellent location, right on the water in the middle of Kailua Village. We were able to walk to any of the restaurants on the main strip, including Island Lava Java which is next door and has amazing baked goods, run/bike down Alii Drive every morning, and walk over to the beach where Kona Boys rents kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel gear. Kona is also a great home base from which to explore the island. The condo had a few very minor issues but overall was clean and nice. We had a much better stay than we would have had at a hotel and would absolutely stay there again.

Most everything is withing walking distance that you might need. There are many small shops along Alii Drive for souvenirs, dining and open air markets. The last Sunday of the month, downtown is blocked off and becomes a walking street fair with local artist vendors and island foods.
