Taos House Rental Photos and Description
3.5 Bedrooms / 3.5 Bath / Sleeps 10
Hacienda de la Luna - Exquisitely refurbished, elegant adobe home on the National Historic Register, was the home of Oscar Edmund Berninghaus, one of the original founders of the Taos Society of Artists in 1915. Located in town and within easy walk to the Plaza, there is a wonderful feeling of seclusion and serenity as guests stroll around the beautifully landscaped grounds. Each of the 3 upscale master bedrooms has access to a private yard area. In addition to the formal living room is a den / family room with Queen Sleeper sofa making this a 4th sleeping area with its' own half bathroom.
The completely modernized chef's kitchen is fully equipped for the avid cook and offers a natural gas grill immediately outside and connected to the house. A large and gracious formal dining room with wood burning kiva fireplace has hosted many grand and festive meals over the 100+ years.
Guests can imagine and feel what it must have been like for this historic family living as part of 'Early Taos Society' in this well over 160 year old adobe gem.
Also, rare and unique to Taos, Hacienda de la Luna comes equipped with an efficient and central evaporation cooling system that functions in desert climates only. Those who have never experienced 'swamp cooling' as a form of air-conditioning are in for a real treat.
Proudly offered by Taos Premiere Properties Vacation Rentals, LLC., this extremely gracious luxury home was on the '2003 Taos Home and Garden Tour'. Truly a Taos lodging experience not to be missed.
