We love taking the family down to Orlando area each winter. Its a pleasure to relax and soak in the sun while the younger ones enjoy the pool and theme parks.
Robert Collins purchased this condo in 2013
Island Club West is an oasis among resort communities. Its pool area is fantastic, and has activities such as basketball and tennis. You'll find that it has a more relaxed atmosphere rather than the hustle and bustle of other crammed communities.
My wife is an interior decorator and we hope that you feel welcome and relaxed in our island themed vacation home.
This is not a resort at all the pictures are miss leading. The is a hot tub but it hasn't worked since last July or August. The pool wasn't heated until we complained it also leaks and has to be refiled every other day but the pool maintenance only comes 2 or 3 times a week. There is only one umbrella for all the tables. Most of the residents rent and live there all year round. The Club is not a club house because there is nothing except a gym that had a broken bike that wasn't fixed the steam room didn't work the sauna light was out for weeks only fixed when we were about to leave it had no handle to close the door. There is only staff at the so called club house are only there Tuesday til Saturday from 7 til 7 o'clock. Also the roof leaks and hasn't for some time. Our unit was well equipped. I would not recommend this resort.
PS it is not Bob Collins fault. (owner)
Well we arrived for our 2 month stay and entered without a problem as the security gate was broken. The home is furnished as the pictures show. It does need some tender loving in the cleaning department. eg. black mold in all the windows, dirt molded into the corners, patio door track disgusting. It has no screens on any windows so if you want to open the windows or patio door for fresh air, you can't. There is no patio furniture at the unit to sit outside. That is disappointing as we came for the weather. It is advertised as coming with Hulu but it only worked for about 2 weeks. The owner said he would look into it but that was 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard back from him. And then we get into the amenities at the pool. The sauna works but there is no handle to close the door and no light inside so it is pretty dark in there. The steam shower does not work at all. The exercise room is there but the equipment is questionable. The one exercise bike is missing a pedal. The washrooms never have paper towels in them and it has been 1 1/2 months. You are lucky to get toilet tissue. The pool was not heated when we got here. We asked about that and were told that the warm water was at the bottom of pool and needed to be stirred up. (laughing) All the gates into the pool have padlocks on them and no keys. The shortest way is thru someones back yard and then thru the church parking lot. There is a hot tub but it doesn't work and hasn't worked since last Aug. and no plans to have it fixed. There is one small patio umbrella for the whole pool area and no plans in the works to get more. The poles are there in the other tables but no umbrellas. I asked and was told that there wasn't any and they didn't know if they were getting more. It has been an interesting stay. This is definitely not a resort. It is a community based housing with lots of regular tenants and there is no interest in fixing or taking care of the facilities. Had we known what kind of community we were coming into we certainly would have gone elsewhere. Much too expensive for what is here and certainly not what is advertised.
What a wonderfully comfortable home! Very suitable for families with small children. Very close to Disney, Legoland, Restaurants, Sea World, Stores and Universal. Our family created wonderful memories here, I would definitely recommend this home and I plan on renting again!
The picture really doesn't do this place justice. Bob was helpful, he answered all my emails promptly. The only con is this place is about 30min from Disney. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Just spent a great month of playing golf while staying in Bob's condo. The condo is very comfortable and exactly as depicted in the pictures. Everything was well kept and it is private and quiet. The location is near to many courses and there are ample places to eat or shop in the area. I would highly recommend this condo to anybody who plays golf or is going to Disney.r
feel free at own's home. very nice
Island Club West is conveniently situated on Route 27 between I-4 and Route 192. Route 27 hosts numerous public and private golf courses. Highlands Reserve is a public full service golf course located across the street.
Only 3 Miles away is Cagan's Crossing for Walmart and Town Center style shopping. Head up Route 192 or I4 for Disney and the other theme parks. Legoland is about 25 miles away and Busch Gardens Tampa is about an hour drive away.
