AWESOME PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
Great spot, great river, great accommodations, and location was perfect for exploring the northern tip of Michigan. It was more than we expected and would definitely stay there again in the future. Very family friendly environment and will recommend this place to my friends. There was excellent communication between the owner and us throughout.

FAMILY GET AWAY

  • 5 of 5
10 of us stayed while visiting my brother's family. (7-8 for beds - we took air mattresses to accomodate our kids). Owner was prompt with our reservation and available to answer our questions. The house was conveniently located but tucked away and very peaceful. The kitchen was very well equipped with dishes. pans and appliances. There were plenty of pillows, blankets and linens. The washer and dryer was a plus! We enjoyed boating on Burt Lake, tubing on Indian River and two days of kayaking on the Sturgeon River.

We would highly recommend staying here!

WONDERFUL LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I reviewed a lot of different homes in northern Michigan and selected this place as the best suited for our needs, and we couldn't have been happier. Our first trip to this part of the state, we found the location to be perfect, close to Lakes Huron and Michigan for daily outings there, a short drive up to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, and another day trip to the UP. And in between these excursions my son and I found a day to spend canoeing the Sturgeon River right behind the house, an exciting and occasionally challenging ride for the two of us used to calmer tidal waters. Add in some visits to Petosky, local antiques shopping, and a relaxing afternoon at Burt Lake and you have a wonderful vacation. This will be among our best ever!

PERFECT FIT FOR OUR FAMILY!

  • 5 of 5
As the previous reviewer stated, the pictures are great but they don't give enough credit to the place. It is truly a gem! We had a total of 8 of us staying there for close to a week. 7 adults and a 5 year old child. There were even toys there for her to play with! It was so comfortable. Within a few moments we felt at home. The cabin is close to whatever you need...grocery, gas, restaurant, boat rental....but far enough and secluded enough to be away from it all. The Sturgeon River is literally 20 steps from the back deck! The fire pit was used more than anything! The cabin is well stocked with everything you need. Just add food and yourself! We will definitely be going back up there. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. This cabin is conveniently located as well because it is just off the Straits Hwy and I-75 which takes you to the Mackinac Bridge/Mackinac City within 30 minutes. It is close to Petoskey and the Tunnel of Trees and also just a few minutes from Burt Lake State Park. We would definitely recommend this place!

LAST MINUTE VACATION DECISION

  • 4 of 5
We had an amazing time at the river house. To be honest, the pictures on line do not do the house justice. The house had everything we wanted & more!! The house had such a good feel to it & had all the amenities that we needed. It is close to many attractions.... Petoskey, Tunnel of Trees, Mackinac Island, etc...... There was a trail head very close that we were able to use our ATV & an access to a beautiful walking/biking trail across the street. It was very quiet, relaxing & just what we were looking for!!! The owners were very accommodating to our last minute plans which was very much appreciated!!! You will not be disappointed!!!
