We wanted a place to spend vacations and holidays on the waterfront, saw this home for sale sitting vacant and fell in love with it instantly! We are enjoying it with family and friends but would like to offer it to others when we are not able to be there. Its just too wonderful to go unused!
As soon as I drove through the gates, I saw the apple trees in the orchard, the massive lawns, the hedges and stonework and said 'Wow! I didn't even know this was here'
A hidden treasure. The fieldstone masonry surrounding the house itself was impressive to me. Entering the home through the 14x50 sunroom was indescribable. For a home of its age I was happy to see how well it had been maintained and updated through the years. Yet the charm and elegance of the home remained intact. From the built in fireplaces to the antique light fixtures all I could say was 'Perfect'
Such a wonderful house. So charming. So BIG! Plenty of room to have a crowd of friends. Loved all the built in fireplaces. The property is gorgeous! Full of blooming trees and flowers! Thank you for everything. We will be back!
Our team needed a home base near Bangor for some work trainings and found this home perfect for our larger group. The open kitchen with a lovely window seat is where we spent most of our time, but there were (what felt like) dozens of other rooms for us to choose from. All of the beds were extremely comfortable and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms allowed us all to have the privacy we needed. Crystal was very responsive and made sure we had a great stay. I would highly recommend this home!
We really loved our stay at the Waterfront estate and all that Crystal did to accommodate us. She was there at the estate when we arrived, to ensure that we reached safely and settled ourselves in nicely. Everything was nicely maintained including the sprawling lawns despite of us being early in the season. The access to the water is a good plus in the summer. The kitchen was huge and we really loved it.
We loved the house. We had family travel from Canada, NY and Florida. The house really made us all feel out home. Each room was very interesting with very unique decorations. The view of the river was excellent. The owners helped us out with places to go and see. She was very helpful and we will be back.
We stayed the week of September 14, 2013. The house was perfect. Very comfortable and quaint with all the amenities we could hope for. The home is far more interesting and lovely than the pictures depict ( although I see that Crystal updated some photos this week).
The deck is the perfect spot to gather and watch the beautiful sunsets, the picturesque scenery and the beauty of the early changing colors of the trees.
The house is very clean, spacious and relaxing. It is located close to town, with many dining and shopping options.
We had the pleasure of meeting Crystal early in the week. She was lovely, and gave us her recommendations of where to dine, all of which were excellent.
The golfers in our group had perfect weather and many options close by.
This was our first time visiting Maine, and the weather was perfect. Sunny, warm days and crisp nights were a welcome relief from our steamy Florida weather.
We were very pleased with this home and would recommend to anyone. Thanks for your hospitality, Crystal.
I rented the house for almost two months while I was working in Bangor. The house is about 7 miles from downtown and is a very easy drive. The house is located in a beautiful setting on the river with 6 acres of land on the river and beautiful sunset views. It is large and can accommodate a large number of people. The listing photos provide an accurate picture of the house. Crystal, the owner, was wonderful and took care of any problems I experienced. The house is very clean and has many of the charming features typical of an older home. The house has a pool which I did not have a chance to use but looked very inviting. Bangor has a number of good restaurants including Masimos. The most interesting place to eat is the Eagles Nest, a small hole in the wall north of Brewer. They have the largest and best lobster rolls in the entire area and apparently have a huge local following. My overall experience was very positive and I would recommend the property for anyone looking for a large house to rent.
We stayed in this house during the weekend of August 9, 2013. The house was beautiful - lots of space (5 bedrooms) and really great amenities. The pool was very nice and big enough for many people to hang out, sun bathe and relax. The house also has very big yard space which really enhanced our experience. There is also a sauna which was really fun to hang out in late at night.
The owner (Crystal) was also super helpful and very kind. Looking forward to going back again!
