|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Our Home was originally built on 1911 by a Gold Prospector by the name of Shindler, after He had built it, a group of local Dr's approached Him and bought and it functioned as The Charlton Hospital, the only other information I have is that it was Dr. Telford's Baby Hospital around 1939-1943. That is a bit of history.
By way of my background I was a nurse, and worked in the OR at Vancouver General which is a 8 min walk from here, When I purchased the property 14 years ago, I was not aware of the History.
I am offering a Ground level Suite for rent. I live on the top floor of the Home. The suite is very bright with 9 foot ceilings, there are many large window, so it is very bright. there is a big living Room, Bedroom with queen bed and large closet.the Kitchen is fully equipped.There is a Ikea couch/chair which folds out to a single bed, therefore room for a family with a child, I also have a double air mattress which children love. The entrance is of the garden, there is a table and chairs, which one can use to enjoy the many different plants .
Property sits on four major bus routes and also is a few blocks away from a bike route. You are within walking distance of most beaches and shopping and Restaurants along South Granville.
There is bike storage and a car parking area.
The property is close to four major hospitals and medical research centers(VGH,Children's, Cancer Clinic, Women's, G.F.Strong,St Paul's) The suite is also close to world known Granville Island (about a 15 min walk)
Come in the winter and you can hit the local mountains to sky, snowboard or snowshoe. Come in the summer and you can hike, camp, sail , play golf, or take a ferry and check out the multitude of Islands off the coast.
There is no shortage of things to see and do, well within a few minutes to a few hours.., come for a week and you will not want to leave our lovely city.
I'm originally from Saskatchewan of Ukrainian descent. Took Nursing and came west to ski.
I love Vancouver. Nursed at VGH in the OR, then became a Real Estate Agent. Currently still working.
I have lived in Mexico, traveled and skied Europe. Visited Lebanon the Emirates. Traveled From Berlin(one of my most favorite cities) through all of Poland to Ukraine.
I have never found a place or country that I have never loved for its many diverse characters customs etc. My children are very much a part of my life, I could not live without them.
Jeanette Kraynick purchased this apartment in 1999
The location, Location. Location
I had the pleasure of staying at Jeanette's place for a couple of weeks in Mar./14. The photos and location of her place are very accurately described, the suite is exactly as pictured. It was very well equipped, clean, spacious and more than adequately maintained. It's location allows easy access to the Cambie/Oak/Granville Street corridors as well as being within walking distance to the VGH complex. Jeanette is a lovely lady, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend her place to anyone. I would not hesitate to stay there again should I be so fortunate as to find a vacancy.
