Paul and Angela Hibbard, a native Oregonian and San Franciscan, respectively, have had a love affair with Central Oregon before the secret got out that this is the best place on earth. They currently live in Corvallis where Paul is an Economics Instructor at Linn Benton Community College and Angela is Editor-in-Chief of MOM Magazine. The Hibbards travel to Bend as often as possible to soak up the beauty of the Cascade Mountains and enjoy the endless range of activities that Bend has to offer.
One afternoon in 2006, while exploring the Old Historic Neighborhood, we stumbled upon this charming Craftsman Mill House for sale. We immediately fell in love - not just with the charm of the house, but with the unbeatable location. This vintage bungalow is literally located in the epicenter of Bend and enables us to reach everything we like to do here on foot. As a contributor to Bend’s Old Town Historic District and well preserved through the past 87 years, this quintessential Old Mill Home represented everything we wanted in a Bend home and more.
Historical craftsman home with modern amenities in the heart of Bend! Hot tub, wifi internet, cable TV, gas fireplace, gas outdoor grill and dining. Walk a block in just about any direction to restaurants, cafes and historical neighborhoods!
Thanks for the wonderful stay. We enjoyed the many breweries, walking through downtown and the amazing location of this house. We will most certainly be back.
Our girl's getaway at the Bernhard Justice house was awesome. It was very clean and well appointed, with all the comforts of home. We appreciated that we could walk to local antique shops and the restaurants in the downtown area. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a busy day. Our host, Diana, was very responsive to our needs. What a great find!
We stayed here for 10 days from before Christmas to after New Years in order to spend time with our grandchildren. The managers are attentive to every email and, as a special touch, they decked out the living room with a Christmas tree and other tasteful decorations. The location is exceptional -- a block to a great restaurant and two coffee shops -- an easy walk to the Mill district -- and a doable walk to Galveston. The house was immaculate and the beds comfortable. The outdoor jacuzzi was well maintained. We really enjoyed being able to walk everywhere. Street parking was easy. Very safe for young kids with fenced in backyard. Kitchen well stocked and even had a growler for local beer runs. Loved this place!
This property is exceptionally well-maintained and clean. We loved walking to the downtown area and biking around. Bend is magical! We are already planning to return and stay at the Bernhard Justice Bungalow again. The owner kindly mailed my forgotten pillow back to me - thank you.
Two of us enjoyed the bungalow on Delaware and Wall Streets. Easy walking distance to downtown Bend (6mins), and Old Mill District (8-10mins). Nice quiet home with a clean outdoor Jacuzzi, and propane BBQ, that works well. Adequately furnished, new washer and dryer, and cool breeze in the evenings. Off street parking is a nice feature. Owners responded promptly to our questions. Only things missing: a small hotel safe and working fireplace. Would rent it again.
Clean, kitchen small but well stocked with everything you need to cook - adorable place, great location!!
Five minute walk to the Mill District and Downtown. A block from Jackson's Corner. Well appointed in the kitchen. It was our home away from home for a week. The photos show it all accurately from Hot Tub to Fireplace and linens. Spotlessly clean. Bikes supplied though we walked everywhere. We will be back!
