This tastefully newly decorated and elegant 50 square meters 1 Bedroom apartment is on the ground French floor of a 18th century Hausmann style building. It has a modern luxury decorated large living room, dining area for 4, modern kitchen and a large bath with a shower , douce and a separate toilet room. The apartment was completely renovated in 2010. The apartment is ideal for a couple, two person travelling together, couple with one son.
l'appartamento di rue de l'Université è comodissimo e ben attrezzato per vivere un'esperienza parigina nel delizioso quartiere di St. Germain, uno dei più eleganti, gremito di deliziosi negozi e antiquari. La casa dispone di ogni comfort ed è piacevolmente silenziosa, anche se a due passi dall'animato boulevard St. Germain e dal metró. La presenza di ogni minimo accessorio che si possa desiderare mi ha fatto sentire a casa.
The apartment of rue de l'Université is very comfortable and well arranged in order to live a great Paris experience in the beautiful and elegant area of St. Germain, full of nice shops and antiques. The apartment has all the comforts that you might need and is silent even it is a few steps of the crowded boulevard St. Germain and from the underground. All accessories you might need are available and this help you feeling like at home.
I moved in rue de l'universitè 8 with a friend of mine to study for one year in Paris. We couldn't find something more comfortable for us and for our necessities. Being a student who is looking for a place to live in Paris could be hard, and it could be easy to end up living in some far away place from the city center. The apartment is a good solution for it's size, the comfort it's offer and it's location. We spent here amazing 6 months till now and we are going to spend other 6 as well.
This was an excellent apartment for the 2 of us - perfect location for visiting the louvre, musee d'orsay etc. It was quiet, cool, spotless and roomier than we had expected.
The sofa bed was comfortable and another 2 people could have easily slept in the sitting room. The galley kitchen has a hob, fridge, dishwasher and combi microwave and is well supplied with plates, pots etc. We loved the dressing room which has lots of closet space - both drawers & hanging space and a movement sensitive light (handy for finding your way to the bathroom at night!).
The owner sent us good directions about 10 days before our stay and the key holder met us as soon as we rang.
The only draw backs were that it is a little dark because of the shutters and also one of the shower doors was broken and had been taken off so we could not enjoy what is a fantastic shower, being aware the whole time that the floor was getting splashed. Also, if you want a shower in the evening as well as the morning you must remember to set the "extra hot water" switch every morning. There is an excellent supermarket on Rue de Buci, about 5 mins walk away but also good restaurants locally.
Although the instructions we received said we should check out by 9.00am (which is very early!), we were able to arrange with the key holder for her to inspect the apartment at 9 and we were able to stay until later. The keyholder does not speak English and my French is hopeless so I would advise that this should be clarified with the owner at time of booking.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment!
What a wonderful time we had in Paris, enhanced by having such a lovely apartment to come home to. I spent hours searching for the right place for us, and was not disappointed with our choice. Situated in a perfect location, so close to everything we wanted to see - Le Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries (where there was a fun carnival throughout July and August), Musee d'Orsay, Boulevard Saint Germain each just a couple of minutes walk. We even walked to Notre Dame and Jardin du Luxembourg. For the attractions further afield, two metro stations are very close by, and we also made good use of the Batobus. The neighbourhood was fantastic, with cafes close by, a good boulangerie, excellent fromager, and the divine L'Epicerie d'Olivier Pitou just around the corner. We treated ourselves with the scallops with shaved black truffles! My daughter's eyes almost popped out of her head when we came across Laduree two blocks away with its colourful display of macarons in the windows, and then a bit further down the street Chocolat Debauve & Gallais!! Some of the most enjoyable meals we had in Paris were simple picnics we took to the riverbank with bread, cheese and salads bought from these nearby stores. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable for my husband and I and our 8 year-old-daughter. Ground floor was a bonus after long days out walking. We would gladly recommend this apartment to others and would love to stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to visit Paris in the future.
This apartment is lovely and well appointed with all that is needed for a pleasant stay in Paris. The location was perfect for walking and catching the metro. The street was quiet. A wonderful shower. Comfortable pull out beds. The photos are true depictions. The only downfall was the inability to open the outside shutters, to allow more light into the apartment, which may have been a seasonal/rain season issue. We would stay at this location again.
We are a family with two young children (6 and 8). This apartment worked out perfectly for our five day stay in Paris.
It is a very spacious apartment, and slept the four of us without any problem. The apartment is newly decorated, so it is in excellent condition inside.
It is very centrally located - two blocks from the Seine and the Batobus, walking distance to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, even for a six-year old. This was great for us, because it meant we walked and used the Batobus to get around, and didn't need to use the metro at all.
We made very good use of the kitchen (our six-year-old boy doesn't enjoy eating out as much as we do). There is a supermarket and boulangerie a few hundred metres away (Monoprix near Rue du Bac metro). This also made our Paris trip more economical.
We had no problems on arrival or departure - the housekeeper was very friendly, and works right across the street.
The apartment is on the ground floor, which meant that we kept the shutters closed, but we were out all day, so that didn't matter too much. The street is pretty quiet - there is almost no traffic noise.
The apartment is well equipped, especially compared to a hotel room. It has wi-fi, TV, stereo, dishwasher and a washing machine.
Siamo una famiglia di 4 persone (2 adulti e 2 bambini), ci siamo trovati benissimo in questo appartamento. Posizione centrale che permette di andare a piedi in vari luoghi turistici. Vicino alla metropolitana e alla Senna dove vi è la fermata del bateaux-mouches. Supermercati vicini. Proprietari disponibilissimi.
