About Greg and Angela

The saying applies to us that 'We weren't born in the mountains, but we got here as quick as we could!' Greg's first visit to Estes Park was as a 5-year old where he caught some of his first trout just a mile down the road at Marys Lake and he has been coming back every year mostly to hike/photograph in RMNP and of course with the love of his life Angela the past 22-years often times to just take in a good book and coffee next to the river and shops in downtown. We are very happy to be able to share our vacation home, our experiences and our knowledge of the Estes Park area with you.

Greg and Angela purchased this house in 2013

Why Greg and Angela chose Estes Park

Estes is the perfect location to visit for those who want to get away from it all or for those on the other side of the spectrum who want to enjoy all the fun of a historical Colorado town. Our home was purchased with both of you in mind and we hope you enjoy your stay!

What makes this house unique

This is your home away from home. Perfectly located and just minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, it offers great access to the beauty of the area without having to go through town each time. When you want to head to town for a wide variety of entertainment, shopping or restaurants just take a very short drive to the east!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Very Spacious and Comfortable for all six of us. We loved the mountain decor and really appreciate the well equipped kitchen. It is great fun to sit on the patio and watch the finch and hummingbirds at their feeders.

Incredible Estes Park Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5
For our 11th Annual Wild Women of The Woods ladies vacation, we chose the mountain Aspen home of Greg & Angela Rea. What an incredible rental. It was close to town. The views were spectacular! The house was spacious & well appointed. The large kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could think of, including two coffee pots with coffee & filters. The snack basket was a very thoughtful gift! The dining room table & chairs accommodated all 7 of us easily. We did not need the extra chairs & table leaves. The main deck had a nice patio table & chairs for 6. The retractable awning was sooo nice! I wish more of the rentals we've used had them. The mountain views were breathtaking. It was so fun to watch all of the birds at the various feeders. Didn't get may humming birds, but by this time of year (Sept) they should be on their way anyway. The upper deck created a very nice covered shade for the lower walk out patio with more seating. Loved the clean, well-maintained hot tub. We used it both early in the morning & in the evening. Thanks for all of the beach towels near by. There were large living rooms both on the main & lower levels. The lower level had this really cute built in kids cabin/play area. It was adorable! This is a perfect place to stay for girlfriend getaways, couples, families large & small! We had a slight problem with the gas fireplace on the main level. We called Greg & he would have been over immediately to fix it, but it worked out better with our schedule to have him come the next day. We could have used the fully stocked wood-burning fire place in the basement, but we chose not to. Since there has been a lot of road construction in the Colorado mountains, Greg was so great about letting us know the best route to take. We also enjoyed Poppy's Pizza, Estes Park Pie Shop, Smokin' Dave's BBQ, the Irish/Scottish Highlands Festival, and the Stanley Hotel Tour. We would highly recommend the rental, restaurants, & attractions. Given the opportunity, we would definitely come back again!

Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5
This house is awesome. The location could not be any better as it is right at the entrance of the national park so you don't have to drive through town every time but it only takes a few minutes to drive to town so it's perfect and so quiet. We saw a deer in the backyard, huge hit with the kids! Talking about kids, the kids' club is wonderful, they spent hours playing in there, plus all the toys and even kid size sleeping bags, can't beat that! The hot tub was nice after coming back from a hike and being showered with hail :)
Everything is carefully thought of, we are renting houses all over the world but I have never seen a kitchen so well equipped with all you will ever need.
Renting process was easy and straight forward, don't hesitate, great place!

Awesome Family Vacation Location

  • 5 of 5
This place is absolutely amazing. The property is gorgeous, the home well maintained, the kid's log cabin a huge hit with our son, and the hot tub a perfect ending to the day. We stayed here for a week for our first real family vacation since our son was born 2 1/2 years ago. I honestly had no intention of staying in a cabin in Estes Park because all of the cabins we looked at were either way out of our price range (considering it was the off season) or not kid friendly. We had planned on a hotel in Loveland, but my husband insisted I look one more time. So we spent one more night looking and found a strong contender. This property. I sent an email asking about availability and received an answer, literally, within fifteen minutes. Thirty minutes later it was ours.

We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were ecstatic. The house was gorgeous. There was a basket of snacks waiting for us when we got there (perfect for a 2 1/2 year old) and they even made sure that none of the snacks had ingredients my son was allergic to in them (which was a HUGE relief for me). The place was well stocked with everything that we possibly could have needed: Everything from towels in all the bathrooms and near the hot tub to a bundle of wood for the fireplace downstairs. Which was definitely put to good use because, while there was a gas fireplace upstairs we did use a few times, the kid's cabin is downstairs and that was really where my son wanted to play so we spent most of our nights down there with him.

We saw a ton of birds including a finch sleeping on the bird feeder just off the upper patio. And there were upwards of fourteen elk in the yard one night when we came back from dinner. Three of them right in the driveway! We got a ton of pictures of them and made some great memories with our son who loved running to the window seat and the dining room windows to see if he could see any elk. He loved the night we saw the male with the huge antlers in the backyard!

We did have a few questions while we were there and every single one was met with an almost immediate answer. Greg even told us about places in town we didn't know existed that were a lot of fun for us.

Friends of mine came over one night and upon receiving the tour one of them was super excited about booking the cabin for a sisters weekend or a family reunion type trip. It really would be a perfect escape for either.

I stayed with some girlfriends for a weekend away. The house was clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and productive weekend. The house is fairly close to town and had beautiful views. The owners were also very helpful with anything we needed.

Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
This house was amazing! We initially booked a three night stay and ended up making arrangements to stay a fourth! We absolutely fell in love with this place! We had deer and elk come into the backyard and they weren't even phased by us taking pictures. The property is a very short drive to the all the shops. The house everything we needed to cook meals for 8 people! I can't thank you enough for sharing your home with us and making our family vacation a complete success!
