Hi, Norma-- We've had a wonderful, restorative time here; sleeping soundly, eating gloriously and otherwise filling our souls with the beauty and quiet of this extraordinary place. Thank you for sharing your corner of paradise with us! We so appreciate your offer of another night and gave it serious consideration. At this point, we will keep our plans to depart tomorrow, Weds, at around 10 in order to work our way home at a relaxed pace. Again, we couldn't be more satisfied with our visit here. We were unable to book my family's lakeside cabin in Montana for this past weekend, so it's particularly special to enjoy another family's retreat and benefit from the wisdom that chose a perfect spot years before. Highlights: *Memorable meals at Atlas, Martine's, Osaka Sushi, and points northward *Comox Farmer's Market *Biking...some of Seal Bay park, also short jaunts to Berry Best and Abuelo's *Investigating the tide pools along the shoreline *Relaxing in our comfortable, peaceful well-appointed lodgings Again, much thanks and best regards: Annika & Jonathan
We loved the Beachfront Accomodations! Would definitely book this luxurious, directly neighboring a provincial Forest Retreat again! Thank you for the perfect West Coast Winter Escape on a Budget!
A peaceful get-a-way in a beautiful setting. Fantastic view, great walks. Car is a necessity, Courtenay, Comox and Qualicum Beach have nice little stores and great restaurants. Avenue Bistro in Comox and Atlas Cafe in Courtenay are worth a visit. Highly recommend this accommodation. Would be nice to visit again in the summer.
Staying here was a pleasure. The photos are a true representation of the property. Everything you need is supplied including coffee and eggs upon arrival. Norma was helpful and informative regarding activities in the area. I would recommend this property for a couple who are looking for a getaway. Amazing scenery, peaceful and quiet. If looking to purchase a few groceries, have lunch or get a delicious ice cream the Courtenay Market is close by and can supply pretty much anything that you may need. I would love to return and spend more time exploring the area.
What a lovely little hide away. This place is right on the beautiful Kitty Coleman coastline. You look out the kitchen window and you can see the water and mainland coast. Went for a walk through the park in the morning and wondered up the road to the gardens. It is so peaceful, but a short drive to Comox and Campbell River. So the location is private and central.
The suite itself is so lovely and we'll equipped. It have wifi, comfy bed, but my favorite is the lovely stone tiled shower.
So glad we spent our 30 wedding anniversary here, highly recommended.
Stayed at the Lions Barking from September 28 to October 3rd. This place is a gem and we can't say enough about it. Serene, beautiful, off the beaten path. Located right on the ocean, you can watch the sunrise from bed in the morning. Our host, Norma, has really done a beautiful job with the place and you have everything you need to have the perfect vacation. Lots of places to walk, beautiful paths and roadways. Unique little farms and businesses at every crossroad, including a tortilla factory just up the road! Very, very quiet. We can't wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay!
Fabulous view of the ocean, walks in the adjacent park or along the shoreline are easily accessible. Clean, quiet, owner is very helpful, due to location vehicle is required. Highly recommend to one or at the most two people. We used as a romantic getaway and were very satisfied, hope to return next year!
Prepare to see abundant nature, Stellar Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, River Otter, Nesting Eagles, Trumpeter Swans, Black Tail Deer. Enjoy beachcombing, local artisan, music and garden tours. Ride the chairlift at Mt. Washington, dine at award winning Locals' Restaurant or a wood fired pizza at the Church Street Bakery. Sample local produce, including artisan cheeses, meats, smoked fish and other delicacies at the Comox Valley Farmer's Market.
