Overview

Kailua Kona House Rental Photos and Description

Two bedroom home with ocean view

Come to Kona to enjoy this darling 'home-away-from-home' surrounded by the beauty of the Kona Coast. Kona Breeze was completely renovated from floor to celing in 2013. It is downstairs from a private residence. You have complete privacy with your own entrance and parking. The home is located on a semi-private driveway elevated above the street. Alii Dr. is the main street that runs through the town of Kailua-Kona. We are approximately 4 miles south of town.

The location is just perfect being across the street from the ocean-front lots. The well-known Kahalu'u Snorkel Beach is a short distance to the south. A short walk north takes you to White Sands Beach, famous for its 'disappearing sand'. It is perfect for boogie boarding or just watching the clear blue waves rolling in. Also located close by are several surfing spots. The lanai in front has a comfortable sitting area where you can see the ocean and all the activity passing by on Alii Dr. The back yard features a large lawn area with beautiful plants of all kinds. There is a large covered patio with a BBQ and next to that there is an additional sitting area with a swing for relaxing after a busy Kona day.

The interior features a nice comfortable living room with large screen TV and views of the ocean. There is a full kitchen with dining area and door to the patios and yard. The master bedroom features a queen size bed. The second bedroom has two twin size beds. There is a large walk-in shower in the bathroom.

In the laundry room you will find beach chairs, boogie boards, a cooler and beach umbrellas. WiFi coverage is present for laptops and ipads.

Come and enjoy the Kona Coast and the Big Island of Hawaii and all they have to offer.

About Bill & Dennise North

Dennise's parents fell in love with Hawaii in the late 1950's. They visited Kona and decided it was their place to lay down roots. In 1979 they built what is now our part time home. Three generations of our family have been able to enjoy wonderful, lasting memories of good times and the beauty of Hawaii.

Bill & Dennise North purchased this house in 1979

Why Bill & Dennise North chose Kailua Kona

Bill & Dennise completely remodeled the downstairs Ohana and converted it to a vacation rental

What makes this house unique

The location on Alii Drive is within walking distance or a short drive to Kahaluu or 'Snorkle Beach' and Magic or White Sands Beach. The ocean is just across the street so you can hear the waves at night. You can sit on the front lanai and watch the ocean and the action going by on Alii Drive or sit in the back patio and relax and enjoy the beauty of the large back yard. We are less than three miles in either direction for shopping and restaurants. We have filled Kona Breeze with pretty local art, comfy furniture and everything you might need to enjoy your stay on the Big Island of Hawaii

Charming, well-kept & well stocked

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous 10 day stay. This cottage is furnished in a charming nautical theme. The cottage is well kept & clean. The back yard is gorgeous with the scent of plumeria. Every thing is well stocked, even the laundry room and backyard. Loved playing crochet! The view from the front porch is nice and only a short walk to a beach. The lizards make very nice quests as you enjoy either backyard or front porch. A must rent. Besides the owners are very charming & eager to please too. Kona Breeze made our stay a memory of a life time. Aloha!

Spent two months here at Bill and Denises' vacation rental December 2014 and January 2015. It was home away from home and very very comfortable with no complaints. Bill and Kevin did whatever to keep it that way. First time renting a VRBO and was pleasantly surprised to find all paper products, soaps and shower necessities furnished. Nothing except food to buy. Ate 95% of the meals there and only added a few accessories to complete the basics. Big bedroom was very comfortable and shower could be big enough for two. The rental was clean and kept in very good condition. TV and internet worked well. Back yard even had grass and well manicured and ate many meals outside on the patio. Location was great on Alii Drive far enough away from downtown to be quiet. Yet close enough to the waves breaking to lull you to sleep. THANK YOU Bill and Denise it was a very pleasant stay!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough good things about this vacation rental! Convenient location, quiet, homey...the perfect place to relax after a fun-filled day. We used the gas grill almost every night and enjoyed almost every meal on the patio, listening to the birds. Master bed is comfy, ceiling fans are quiet, shower is roomy, and everything was clean. Loved having access to snorkel gear, boogie boards, umbrellas and beach chairs! Internet access is solid. This place is an amazing value, whether you spend only evenings and mornings there (like we did) or you choose to relax in the backyard all day with a book! Thank you Bill and Dennise

Great place! No A/C- needs different blinds.

  • 3 of 5

Great little set up! There was pretty much everything I needed to have a good time! There are even some condiments in the fridge and spices in the cupboard! The manger was very friendly and easy to work with! There's a binder available that they've compiled and it has TONS of great advice. I actually followed most of the suggestions (even road trips outlined) and I had an awesome time!

A few downsides I found that I wish I would have realized before: While there are several fans available... this is no AC. In February, with 4 fans and all windows open... I still found it hard to cool the place off. Also- at night time, from the outside you can see through the blinds into the master bedroom (they are those bamboo ones). Maybe it's cause I was all alone, or maybe I watch too much CSI- but that made me pretty uncomfortable since it's very close to a main road. Lastly, you can hear some traffic as there's a main road very close (mind you, my windows were open during the night).

Other than those thoughts- I totally recommend this place!

Owner's Response: Aloha, Thank you for your recommendation of our "great place". Sorry you were uncomfortable with the bamboo window coverings. You must not have noticed that there was a shade you could have pulled down on one window and the other window has an canopy that prevents anyone looking down from next door. We are not directly on the main road....we are up a semi-private driveway. You do hear some traffic noise, but the advantage is being so close to the ocean and hearing the waves rolling in. Glad you enjoyed the notebook we compiled with all the things we know about the Big Island after our 50 years of visiting here. Mahalo, Bill and Dennise North

we have been here for 3 nights. it was a bit difficult find the house at night, although the description was excellent! After a long flight of 18 hours from germany to here, entering this home was a wonderful and warm welcome. We felt immediately home. it was very clean, kitchen was perfectly and generously equipped, nothing was missing. all the informations were very helpful. we could really feel with how much care and love this house was decorated. the little lanai was very cosy and the garden with a dark red plumeria was awesome as well. we could walk to 2 different beaches within 10 minutes.

Everything was really just perfect. communication was nice, reliable and very friendly!

we will definatly come back here again on our next visit.

mahalo nui loa dennise and bill for creating such a nice home away from home.

Owner's Response: Aloha birgit....Thank you for your very kind words. We worked very hard to make Kona Breeze comfortable and include everything you might need. Decorating it from places all around Kona was a treat. When we read your great review, it made us feel really great. Mahalo, Bill & Dennise

Wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say how awesome of a home this. Beautiful yard, all the amenities. Its perfectly located between two beaches. Dennise put out items to make a lei. Which was nice because we came in so late at night at night that we didn't get one at the airport. the girls loved it. For those coming to Kona. This is the place to stay. Bill and Dennise mahalo for opening your home. See you soon.
