About Patty Baker
My name is Patty Baker. I was born and raised in North Carolina. My mom was from the coastal plains and my father was from the mountains. I love almost every inch of this beautiful state. My grandfather traveled throughout these mountains preaching in a tent in many of the small towns. I carry a small piece of his legacy into this home.
Patty Baker purchased this farmhouse in 2013
Why Patty Baker chose Linville Falls
It is my heart's desire that all who enter into this home may find the peace that surpasses all understanding. May God speak to your heart and renew your strength.
When I came across this house I really was not looking to buy a house. But the moment I saw it something spoke to me. The house just drips of old time charm. As I think back over this entire process all I can think is how amazing God is and how blessed I am to call 'A New Day' my home.
In the early 2000's she was completely renovated inside and out. Her wrap around front porch offers a relaxing place to sit and listen to cool mountain breezes. You can sit and watch the comings and going of those venturing into the national forest for a view of the Linville River as it makes its 2000 foot descent in 14 miles into the gorge it has carved out through the years. If you are looking for a peaceful place to rest while exploring the beauty of the Blue Ridge you will be hard pressed to find anything better than....A New Day at the Falls!
What makes this farmhouse unique
The house was built in the 1880's. Many of the original features are still proportionate in the home. The original staircase is one of my favorite parts of the house. The treads are worn and the paint has long been worn off, but there is something special about them. The hardwood floors in the dining room and kitchen creek as you walk across them. The house is almost 200 years old and has so many stories still to tell. Come make 'A New Day' your home for the week and add your family to her story too.
