ENJOY TWO (OR THREE) LAKES FROM ONE RENTAL

Bull Shoals Lake House Rental Photos and Description

Best Single Spot in the Ozarks--truly

Well stocked, landscaped 1200 sq ft house sits directly across from Upper Bull Shoals Lake. Powersite Dam and Lower Taneycomo Lake are a quarter mile away. By staying near a dam, you have two lakes to enjoy; and Table Rock Lake is only 30 minutes away. Young kids can fish from the shore on both lakes near the house. Boat launches are available nearby. Table Rock Dam is only half an hour away, with blue ribbon fly fishing for trout.

This house consists of two independent, private levels--a perfect set-up for couples, fishing buddies, or extended family to vacation together, yet stay separately. Part of the house was just recently renovated out of an unused basement; and it has a rich, cozy ambiance. My wife and I got married at the house, with forty people in attendance. Our very first renters got married while staying there--so be careful if you don't want to fall in love. And what better place for a honeymoon?

Both levels have microwaves, refrigerators, garbage disposals, and oven/stoves. Dishwasher and stackable washer/dryer on the upper level. The place has abundant kitchen utensils, bedding, and towels (bring your own lake towels). Screened-in porch has a futon so you may sleep out in the fresh, warm, summer night air. Two fire pit areas in the backyard. Two gas B-B-Q grills, plus a small charcoal grill. Queen-size beds: one upstairs, one down. Hideaway sofa both levels, TV/DVD players, and views of the lake--although trees obstruct somewhat. Hammock and two bicycles available. I use insect killer on the lawn to reduce tick and chigger attacks. In my opimion, the house's main attraction is its location. You have three large lakes and all of Branson within a comfortable distance of driving.

Most guests are simply blown away by how well stocked the place is. It is what I would want if I were to stay there as a renter.

Being an avid fisherman, I moved to Branson in 1980. In time, the Forsyth area grew on me such that I purchased some land there twenty years ago. When this lake house came up for sale--adjoining my land--I pounced on it. Then, it was thirteen months of renovation to spruce it up and bring it up to code. The man who did the work is a genius at building (in my opinion) and lives next door. His mother cleans. What more could I have asked for?

I have tried to make this the kind of destination that I would want to enjoy. The stretch of water below the dam is known for its fishing, with sixty-plus pound stripers available, amongst many other species. Superb trout fishing is available in Taneycomo Lake--a quarter mile away--but also right across the street, in Bull Shoals Lake. My wife has gone plumb crazy over catching trout, and she usually outfishes me.

Jerry Wible purchased this house in 2012

For the past twenty years, I've owned three lots abutting this lake house lot. I am now using one of those lots to provide generous parking. Altogether, theoretically, guests should be able to park up to four cars with boats attached. Or, just walk across the street and catch your limit without the need of a boat. Drive to Table Rock Dam and enjoy the blue ribbon trout fishing in the headwaters of Taneycomo Lake; then have dinner and enjoy a show in family-friendly Branson.

The springtime white bass fishing draws fishermen from all around. Large walleye can be taken, better at night. Family-friendly Shadowrock Park is just two miles from my (your) lake house. Bull Shoals Lake is nearly deserted compared to Table Rock Lake.

I honestly think this house sits on the single most unique piece of land in all the Ozarks. No houses here have water frontage, but I am as close as one can get to the lake--a stone's throw away. There are three large lakes nearby, all within half an hour's drive or so.

Walking/biking trail can be accessed across the street (no vehicles allowed). Two parks within two miles, one with tennis and volleyball. Two RV parks nearby. Trout dock just above the dam--a ten minute walk.

Ralph Foster Museum and Titanic Museum in Branson.

Silver Dollar City, with a cave to explore, is an experience all of its own. Shepard of the Hills has entertained visitors for decades but has closed. Take a Ride-the-Duck tour of the Branson area.

In the winter, you may (with my permission) build a fire in the upper level fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine as the fire crackles--and as do steaks on the grill. Or build a fire in one of the two firepit areas in the backyard and watch it from the hammock. Best of all may simply be sitting in the screened-in porch and enjoying the nighttime roar of water coming over the dam--while gazing at the lights along the top of the dam and the boats with nighttime fishermen below. I think this place is perfect for a couple with romance on their minds.

GIRLFRIEND WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time spending it in the perfect out of the way lake home. This home had everything you need to prepare meals , games and DVD for the rainy days. The favorite place is the screened in porch it had enough room for 6 to eat all our meals and enjoyed the view. In the evening the firepit was relaxing as we watched the fire and listen to the beautiful sounds of nature. Loved the walking trails and the parks at each end to play volleyball, tennis, basketball , swim or just relax and fish.

FAMILY SPRING BREAK

  • 5 of 5
Great place. We rented for two weeks hoping to catch the spring white bass run but we were to early. Our grandkids stayed with us over their school break and we had a wonderful time. Fishing in the morning, riding bikes and playing tennis in the afternoon. We switched over to Taneycomo and caught trout. The lakes, walking and bike trail are right across the road. The house is decorated nicely and includes everything you need, comfy beds, even small details like tennis rackets and a bag of ice waiting for you in the freezer. Branson is only 15 minutes away and a couple of nice restaurants 5 minutes away in Forsyth; we loved Fat Daddys BBQ and their daily specials ($6.50) and breakfast. Very nice place to relax especially on the huge porch.

EXCELLENT!

  • 5 of 5
This property was like being at our own private apartment on the lake. All the amenities we could need, extremely clean, a quick jaunt to local stores and restaurants, and picturesque surroundings. Close enough to Branson (or even Springfield) for day trips, but far away from all the noise and traffic to really feel peaceful and private. Good directions, too. The owners were conscientious of our well-being and comfort from the moment we booked. We look forward to going back AND have already recommended this place to other people! As a note, if you have minor disabilities, we would recommend the lower level. If you are the 'chef' of the group, the upper level! Many thanks to Jerry & Sheila!

LABOR DAY

  • 4 of 5
Property was very clean. Owner very detailed and very helpful. Beds were comfortable, and home very well furnished more than most we've stayed at. Good for mostly fishing trips, which if you are a trout person this would be the place to go. Some of our crew wanted to swim and the gravel bars were hard to find. But I think the water levels were very high to due recent rains and flooding. The units are 2 separate rentals with access only thru the outside. Lake view was minimal when the leaves are on. We really enjoyed the fire rings outside.

GREAT GET AWAY SPOT

  • 5 of 5
We were very pleased when we arrived and had the chance to look around. The pictures do not really do this place justice. Really peaceful and serene setting. The inside is so nice and updated with seating areas galore. I had no idea that there would be a screened porch with additional seating. The TVs were large and awesome. Latest technology unlike you see in many rentals where you have old school box tvs. The bedrooms are so comfortable and clean. There is a jetted tub in the upstairs bathroom very nice. Does take awhile to fill like most of them do so plan accordingly. Lots of places to fish although we did not really have time to take advantage of it. The town is close and quaint. Should have everything any traveler may need. We would definitely go back if our travels take us that way. This is also a convenient drive to Silver Dollar City and Branson so if you want to be away from the traffic and crowds but still close enough to go see it all this is the place.

Trout fishermen! Winter/spring is a good time to catch a large Brown or Rainbow trout. The white bass make their spawning run in March. You can't find a plumber, electrician, or handyman at that time of year. They stay out on the water. If you want real peace of mind and escape from the frenetic beehive of life, let Forsyth be your destination. While the big lakes are being crisscrossed with wakes from innumerable boats, upper Bull Shoals and lower Taneycomo remain relatively undisturbed. Even on the Fourth of July weekend, you will see no more than a handful of boats down here by the (small) Powersite Dam--at least until the fire works are set off. People flock in for the fireworks. You are only half an hour to all of Branson's theaters, restaurants, water parks, Silver Dollar City, and more. For serious water skiers, I would recommend going to K-Dock (on Bull Shoals Lake). It is halfway between Branson and Forsyth--less than ten miles from my lake house. Even on weekends, you may not see more than another boat or two. It is where a bunch of us used to ski each Wednesday afternoon when I lived in Branson many years ago. Forsyth is special. A fifty pound striper was caught right across the road from my house. Just about every species except sturgeon, northern perch, northern/musky can be found in Bull Shoals. Non-fishing entertainment abounds in Branson--only minutes away. And there is lots to do within a couple miles of my place.

Notes:
I think this place is ideal for two seemingly opposite types of people. First is the fishing. Nearly every kind of Midwest species of fish is available, and it is just across the lightly traveled road in front of my house. Serious fishermen love this area. Guides can be arranged. Table Rock Lake is not far away if you want to go water skiing, scuba diving, or parasailing. What a spectacular area for getting away. The first two couples to stay here got married (one of them was my wife and I). How about some hot apple cider and a fire in the fireplace to break the autumn chill of sitting out on the screened-in porch after a walk or bike ride to one of the nearby parks?
