We LOVE Montana and greatly appreciate the opportunity to share it with you. We travel a great deal for business and pleasure and while we're gone, we enjoy sharing our paradise with others who appreciate the finer things in life.

Dreaming Bear Lodge is the best of all worlds..... convenient location yet very private.... wooded yet with spectacular views.... reasonably priced yet high end luxury... great relaxed vibe about the property and good energy. We encourage awesome people to stay here. :)
We fell in love with this property from seeing the stately way it's located on the hilltop, and the views are breathtaking! Inside... from the soaring ceiling in the great room, to the floor to ceiling rock fireplace (made from local river rocks), to the natural log accents and the elk antler chandelier, Dreaming Bear is Montana elegance in a private setting. The theater is another thing that we love too!
I love this place! We stayed here the last week of August as a family of 4 (myself, my wife and my two adult sons). We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and wanted to go to a nice wilderness area with peace and quiet but we were not willing to give up any creature comforts in the process. After looking at hundreds of places on the internet, I came across this property and the online photos looked pretty impressive. After being burned on previous vacations that had nice internet photos only not to live up to lofty expectations when we finally arrive, I can honestly say that the Dreaming Bear Lodge is actually more beautiful in real life.
The setting for the lodge is an upscale residential neighborhood about an 8 minute drive from downtown Whitefish. The closest house is about 100 yards away but the way the trees line up, you don’t really see the surrounding houses very well and you definitely get a quiet and secluded feeling to the house which is exactly what we were after. We actually had a momma dear and her 2 baby deer visit our backyard on a fairly regular basis so you definitely get the feel that you are in a very nice forest area.
Everything about the house was first class but our favorite parts were the kitchen, the hot tub and the home theater. The kitchen was large, airy and extremely well equipped. We normally eat out a lot on our vacations but this kitchen and overall environment was so pleasant that we ate all but 2 of our meals at the lodge. The hot tub was a state of the art tub at a very secluded corner of the house with a great view of the setting sun. The in home theater was the nicest and most comfortable one we have ever experienced. They even had a Logitech universal remote so everything was super easy to use. They had a fairly extensive set of DVDs in the theater but we decided to supplement them on some nights with a rental from Safeway which had a fairly large collection.
The only negative I can say about this place is that it is a bit of a drive to actually get to Glacier National Park. Our primary focus was day hiking and the 3 hikes we selected were one hour, 2 hours and 2.5 hours away driving time one way. Glacier National Park is a big place and the three hikes were in the Western, Central and Eastern parts of the park. Based on my research, we might have been able to find a rental about a half hour closer to the park but most of the really nice places are in Whitefish and in my mind, it is well worth the ex
Dreaming Bear Lodge is a perfect base for touring Glacier National Park as it's located only 30 miles from the West entrance.
