The Vail Ski Chalet offers a home away from home. On a very private, three-quarter acre, wooded lot that offers spectacular mountain views and stargazing from our private hot tub. A gas fireplace with a steam room shower, and a two person jacuzzi add to the luxury of the master suite. The Family room with its vaulted ceilings and stone woodburning fireplace offer a relaxing venue to entertain and congregate. The Dining room with its staghorn chandelier seats ten. In Oct. 2010 we added a 55' SONY flat screen over the the fire place with surround sound. The Kitchen and Laundry room are also brand new with all new appliances and fixtures!

Everything you could possibly need is here, a breadmaker? Yes! a cappuccino, latte machine? Yes! High Speed internet, Yes. Over 100 movies in our video library, so no need to rent one. Year round access to a gas grill for barbecuing. We would be delighted to set up our twelve foot Christmas tree for you to enjoy for the holiday season as well. The master bedroom has a king size sleigh bed, two of the bedrooms have queens and the forth bedroom has 2 fulls and a twin size bed great for kids!In the fall of 2009 the bathroom were completely renevated for luxurious comfort for all.

A free shuttle makes is simple to go into the village and back and our yard is perfect for summer activities. We love our mountain home and we love to share it with others. We consider our guests liken family and hope to make their visit special in every way.

Peace and quiet and yet just a few minutes from the exciting village of Vail. Star gazing in our hot tub is something you will never forget. All of the amenities you need are here for a terrific and comfortable vacation.

Better Than Ever!!!



I recently stayed at the Vail Ski Chalet for the third year in a row, and I must say, the owners did an excellent job with upgrades. First, the completely remodeled kitchen added all new appliances and granite, along with new cabinets. They even upgraded the washer and dryer room with new cabinets and new HE appliances. New this year as well was the 55 inch flat HD tv over the fireplace with surround sound! I still enjoyed the outside jacuzzi and upstairs master sauna steam shower, but loved the openness of the upgraded main floor. Looking forward to next year already!

Best place to reconnect with friends and loved ones

This place is by far the best place I've stayed in Vail. The moment you walk in you know you're "home". From the breath taking views, to the hot-tub, to the updated kitchen/bathrooms, to huge windows, this place has everything to offer. We've stayed here a few times and it's the perfect place to reconnect with friends and family. Everything is right at your figure tips... just walk to the bus and...snap you're in Vail Village. After a long day of skiing there's nothing like the hot tub and a wood burning fireplace. Also, if you have people that like the night life in Vail, it's great - you can just jump on the bus and no need to worry about driving. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

opposite experience

My wife and I are surprised at the review written below. We had the complete opposite experience at the 47322 rental and I believe we were there the week before the renters below. This was our second stay at this rental. Our first stay was 17 years ago on our wedding honeymoon. We thought it would be a fun experience to bring our kids back with us years later. To our surprise there were many improvements done to the house. A completely new kitchen that was beautiful, all the bathrooms seems to be redone as well. Coming from New Jersey it was a huge pleasure to have the windows open with NO screens allowing fresh air to flow through the house. There were no bugs so having the windows open was a rare but joyful experience for us. Wife and I stayed in the master bedroom and showered without ever fearing of neighbors being able to look in. The hot tub on the back deck was new and was fun for the whole family. We did not find the house dirty at all. All bedrooms and bathroom were neat. Overall we had a great experience and wonderful family vacation. We look forward to returning and our only hopes are not to wait as long to boo with this rental again.

100% disappointed. Living room Furniture is shot, broken down and vinyl/leather peeling. Had to cover with sheets. Screens missing throughout the house, so fresh air non existent. No vents nor operating windows in baths - code violation and unpleasant. No GFI in main floor bath, code violation and dangerous. 6" gas line exposed in master bedroom is a dangerous tripping hazard and should be mitigated immediately: code violation. Until this is fixed, this house should not be rented. The entire house is dirty and dripping in cob webs and layers of dust, mouse droppings, etc. Old stove/fireplace left on upper deck. Master bath fixtures so old and corroded they were unusable, very dark and no operating windows, nor vents. Had to move to secondary bedroom, where the shower had a window pane in it with no window covering or obscure glass; thus neighbors can see one showering. Patio door is difficult to operate, old and has only a small chain for security, no operating lock. In general this home is run down and in Shameful condition for $. Left early. Trip ruined. Felt ripped off. Not worth money we spent. Used vrbo with great results in past, but, this makes us very worried about using vrbo again as this home was so poor. I believe vrbo will not publish this review so I will contact the appropriate agencies regarding the exposed gas line and other code violations. No unsuspecting families should have to deal with and pay for a vacation home that is dirty, disgusting and dangerous. Any home listed on vrbo should be, at a minimum, held to Colorado building codes.

Owner's Response: No good deed goes unpunished…. For 20 years we have had nothing but 5 star reviews and the only time we ever accept a “trade” for another owner's property we get this review. Of course, some of their feedback is true, and we're glad we could address some things, so please read my responses below….

100% disappointed. Living room Furniture is shot, broken down and vinyl/leather peeling. Had to cover with sheets. Yes, the Living room future is faded due to the sun as the entire front of our home is glass. However, it is clean and there's no need to cover it. A new leather couch and chairs are also on order and will be in for the upcoming ski season. We spent over $50,000 redoing the kitchen and laundry room last year and need to prioritize our expenses. Faded leather furniture was not one for the summer season.

Screens missing throughout the house, (Not true, all the down stairs windows have screens) so fresh air non existent. No Need for Screens upstairs- we have lived there and rented for 20 years and we love the fresh mountain air, as do our renters, never a complaint….There are no bugs, mosquitos etc…

6" gas line exposed in master bedroom is a dangerous tripping hazard and should be mitigated immediately, Old stove/fireplace left on upper deck: This is true, we had brand new carpet installed in the master Bedroom last summer and decided to install a new Gas fireplace, thus the reason for the gas line and stove not being reinstalled.

The entire house is dirty and dripping in cob webs and layers of dust, mouse droppings. This is absolutely NOT TRUE! WE have the house professionally cleaned after every rental to ensure the house is fresh for every renter. With vaulted ceilings it is not uncommon to have a few cob webs, so thanks for bringing them to our attention; our cleaning lady took care of them in a ½ hour.

Master bath fixtures so old and corroded they were unusable, Not True. The master bath has a marble pedestal sink and is an antique that works perfectly fine. The other two bathrooms were completely redone two years ago.

Left early. Trip ruined. Felt ripped off. Not worth money we spent. You spent 11 days in my home of the 14 you reserved, you paid for 1 week and traded a week of your rental property that we eventually declined to use as it seemed best to not associate with you in the future, and perhaps this was your motive all along. I’m sure your rant may influence others not to share my home, All I can offer to them is a lis

Overall, we had a great time. The kitchen is great. Well equipped, good layout and lots of room. Since we cooked every night, it really suited us. The great room has a nice layout, but the furniture is tired, and needs to be replaced.
The master bath is also tired, and needs an overhaul.. Since the house was built in 1979, some more upgrading is necessary. The owner, Ralph, was very attentive, and responsive, whenever I had any questions or concerns.
The hot tub was nice, but had trouble maintaining a hot temperature. We did use it every afternoon after skiing, and it is an essential part of a ski vacation. I would recommend this property, but some upgrading would make this house a real gem.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback David, Over the last 3 years we have replaced the carpet, renovated the other two bathrooms and also completed a renovation of the kitchen and family room. We agree that the leather furniture in the family room is "Tired" and will address that this summer. The master bathroom as well is dated but still in good working condition with the steam shower and such so I may need to wait another year or two before I can take on that project. Wonderful Family Christmas home

We had a wonderful time staying at this house. The location and home itself are perfect for a Vail family ski trip. The owners set up a beautiful Christmas tree and had plenty of firewood stocked for the fireplace. Almost anything we could have needed for a week of cooking and spending time at the home was provided. The kitchen looks recently updated and is very clean and accomodating. The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing. We are a pretty fussy clean freak family and everyone felt pleased and comfortable with their accomodations.

We had a little glitch when temperatures got extremely low during the night and the heater was struggling. The owner responded right away by sending someone to the house. There were some repairs made and I doubt this will be an issue in the future.

We had a wonderful time. Thank you for the use of your comfortable and wonderful Vail home. Cheers.
