About Annalisa Joecks

We live in San Francisco, CA USA and this is our second home that we use when we go skiing or when we just want to get away from the day to day.

Annalisa Joecks purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Annalisa Joecks chose Sunnyside

This cabin was built in 1951 in the 'Classic Tahoe Style' we fell in love with it, and hope you will too!

What makes this cabin unique

Circular drive, long enough to accomodate a boat in tow. If you don't feel like going to the lake just enjoy the park setting just out the back door.

Post Labor Day Get Away

We had a very nice stay and the cabin added to the enjoyment. It really had everything we needed - except a toaster. There were a few downsides. Major construction was going happening on Highway 89 - mainly at night. The traffic rolling over plates and the all night work was somewhat disruptive, plus direct access to the cabin was blocked off and we had to take a detour to get to it at night. This situation will be temporary but the very close proximity to Highway 89 is a minus. Also, the living room furniture is marginal - old and not very comfortable. These are the reasons we rated the cabin as good rather than excellent. The setting, convenience and basic amenities are wonderful.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Sadly we have no control of the construction on Hwy 89. Normally it is very peaceful through the night. The work being done is for the benefit of the residents and the lake itself. Hopefully next time their work will be else where. As for the lack of a toaster I will look into remedying that, but we usually just use the broiler in the oven, as I emailed you when you asked about a toaster. I am sorry that you did not find the furniture comfortable, we have not had any previous complaints. but everyone has different tastes. Overall I am glad that you made the best out of your stay. Thanks~A.P.

Pretty good Tahoe vacation rental

  • 4 of 5
The cabin was pretty nice. Pros: very nice kitchen, good beds, reasonably priced, great water pressure, washer and dryer, accepts pets, very clean, has bear deterrent installed, good parking. Cons: VERY close to the highway with highway noise, not suitable for those with any kind of mobility challenge (esp access to the toilets--very cramped),upstairs bedroom impossible to sleep late in because of early morning sun and no blinds. Summer of 2014 they are reconstructing the highway next to the cabin so long delays should be expected. You can walk to the lake but the beach within walking distance is not sandy but pebbly. One thing that left us with kind of a bad feeling was my daughter forgot her phone charger which is kind of spendy and several inquiries regarding this were not answered at all, even to just say no, they didn't find it. We had a very nice vacation overall, though. We love Tahoe and spent most of our time down by Emerald Bay, normally less than a half hour drive but much longer with construction.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and we did not have any charger turned in by housekeeping, nor did I find one when I was at the cabin a week after your stay. I am sorry that you found the road too close, we are set back from the hwy approximatly 30 yards, and the cabin was built long before Tahoe is what it is today.

Enjoyed our stay at this cute cabin. Can't beat the location! Good kitchen for cooking in -- has most items you would need. Accommodations are quite comfortable and the layout really works for the size.

Great cozy cabin with all the amenities of a much bigger house

  • 5 of 5
Great cabin very close to the Lake and only 15 minutes away from Squaw. We loved our time there, it is on the smaller side but with plenty of space for 2 adults and one child. Kitchen is very well equipped and it was great to have access to Netfilx and the wifi was very good. The water pressure in the shower is one of the best that I have ever experienced. Will definitively be back. Thank you!

Very comfortable cabin. Well supplied, excellent location. Only one recommendation: our son in law is a former football player, 6' 4". He had a lot of difficulty navigating the "facilities". For the average height person, it is perfect!

Just a quick note that we had a delightfully wonderful time at your cabin! Who knew that emails and Skyping across the Pacific would land us in Tahoe, at your cabin, 8 weeks after our first communication! The cabin was perfect and the location was great with the walks just up the street to activities, restaurants, beach, and grocery. It is centrally located to drive to the north shore, or down to the south shore. Kayaks, bikes, rafting, boating... the sky was the limit for the activity possibilities! The cabin was great for accommodations, hanging out, access to internet, Roku box, cable, BBQ, kitchen with all the necessities, picnic area, porch to watch the world go by, and balcony for star gazing... all was fabulous. Clearly, we couldn't have picked a better spot! And good news is... after hitting it off... looks like I'll be going to New Zealand, here this fall to check out what it's like 'down under.'

All the best to you and success with your wonderful accommodations!
