Condo #207 - Panoramic ocean and islands view with south facing direct ocean access, with beautiful pool and oceanfront bar area. This condo is on the 2nd floor right above the pool and is 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit right on the beach with great views of Molokini and whale action. (when in season)

#207 was extensively renovated during 2013 and improvements are ongoing. The condo is also very clean and is well stocked including beach towels, chairs and umbrella.

The Mana Kai also provides chaise lounges on the lawn area in front of the beach, as well as a BBQ area and outdoor shower for guests.

This is a truly exciting yet peaceful vacation location.

There is a well stocked ground floor onsite Deli where you can purchase ready made food and snacks as well as beer, wine and light groceries. Please also visit the Activities Center near the lobby area to book all of your island adventures while staying at the Mana Kai 207.

The trendy bar area has Happy Hour 50% off food and drinks from 5:00 - 7:00pm.

The famous 5 Palms restaurant is also on the ground floor with it's beachfront vistas and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Mana Kai is one of the few complexes on Maui with direct beach access and the condos faces due south for beautiful days and fabulous beach sunsets !

Wonderful vacation experience - easy online booking too !

This condo has such a wonderful location ! - Right above the pool and ocean front. The Mana Kai is a condo complex with all of the amenities of a full service hotel (excluding room service).

We used the laundry machines just outside the condo a lot, and appreciated the elevator while carrying in groceries and suitcases.

We loved the 5 Palms restaurant, and the Deli too for quick lunches and groceries. The pictures do not do this condo justice as the sounds of the ocean and beautiful breeze cannot be described. Best vacation ever and we'll be coming back during the winter when the whales arrive!

Family Time in Maui

The owners of this Mana Kai condo were wonderful people to work with! They went above and beyond the call to make our stay the best. The condo was clean and well maintained and outfitted with beach necessities. The kitchen was well-stocked and very servicable. The condo overlooks beautiful Keawakapu Beach and you can see all the way to Wailea from the lanai. There is plentiful sea life for snorkeling right outside the condo. As well as fish, we saw eels, mantas and turtles. The Mana Kai has a great pool, a deli, a first-class restaurant and rental equipment all available to you. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone and thank the owners again for their generosity and kindness. Mahalo! We will come again!

Condo needs an update but great location

Beautiful view, awesome beach access and nice 1.3 mile walk on the beach to Wailea. Condo could use some updates and kitchen is tiny but functional.

Regarding the kitchen - all of the kitchens at the Mana Kai are identical in size as per the photos.
Regarding updates, this condo was extensively renovated mid 2013 including slate kitchen floor, new appliances beds and furniture, new balcony carpet, interior paint, deep cleaning and repairs.
Ongoing improvements to this condo are being done as well. Thanks to all of our guests who have had a wonderful vacation at Mana Kai #207 !

Un-plug and enjoy!

We stayed in this rental for a little over a week and were plesantly surprised with the accomodations. This unit has everything you will need if you want a home-away-from-home adventure. We cooked almost every meal from this property with ease.
The view was amazing and the unit is just above the pool area with quite times at 10pm, the noise is minimial. The location of this unit in proximity to the elevators, recycling, and laundry can't be beat as it's just outside the door.
Plenty of grocery shopping only 10-15 min. away, and we were able to find plenty of activites. Happy hour downstairs was fun, but be prepaired to have shoes,shirt, and be seated to be served. Staff was most-friendly! Owners were great at answering all our questions and very helpful in general with other travel inquiries. Location is nice, but it's a bit of a hike from the airport, so a rental car was helpful vs. a cab. Snorkeling down the road at Ahihi was out-standing, the Maui Four Winds glass-bottom boat ride and snorkel adventure to the Molokini Crater was kid-friendly and a big hit with adults too. The aquarium was worth the money on a rainy day too. Of course you can't go wrong with a Luau. We found water activities our favorite, but that is why we came. Overall we highly recommend this rental and we were not ready to leave at the time of our departure, much thanks to the owners for all your hospitality, we will be back!

Pros and Cons Month stay

We rented both bedrooms for a month.
Pros: VIEW! Shoreline and ocean view. Sunset was viewed from balcony also, but off to the side a bit. Very close to shoreline. Convenience of 5 Palms restaurant, Deli and Sarentos Restaurants were great, all steps away. Snorkel, paddle board and kayak rental on first floor is great. Resort is well maintained. You can choose to 'beach it' on sand, grass, shade or sun. Snorkeling and whale watching is great. The door walls open very wide to the balcony. Condo unit was clean enough. Mattresses were comfortable.
Cons: Needs AIR CONDITIONING! The back bedroom has air, but does not reach whole unit. Too hot to sleep or cook. Ceiling fans helped a bit. Just a couple night were cool enough for a light blanket. Washer & dryer is $3 per load each. Some noise due to the condo unit being by the elevator, recycle center and above the pool & restaurant could be annoying. Smells from the restaurant were mostly good but was constant. Condo unit could use some updating. Lighting was either too harsh over sink and not bright enough in living room and bedrooms. The dishwasher didn't clean good.

Owner's Response: This group of guests had an extended stay and were very nice. We were therefore surprised to see this 4 star review and yet several complaints that were never mentioned to us during their stay.
The Mana Kai has 96 units and approx. 20 have air conditioning in the front units at this time. These condos typically charge $75 - $200 more per day for their condos based on supply and demand, and the very high cost of electricity in Hawaii. The trade winds blow through the units and since the 70s when the Mana Kai was built and unfathomable number of guests have enjoyed vacations here with no AC in the front units.
"Washer & dryer is $3 per load each". - Yes the washers and dryers are owned and maintained by the resort.
"Some noise due to the condo unit being by the elevator, recycle center and above the pool & restaurant." - The noise is typical of any large hotel / resort and this is the first guest that has mentioned it. Most guests like the fact that they don't have to walk a long way to the elevator, laundry and trash area, as some units have a long walk.

"Condo unit could use some updating." The condo was updated in the summer of 2013 and the daily rate reflects its amenities. Again this is the first guest to mention this.
"Lighting was either too harsh over sink and not bright enough in living room and bedrooms." - Okaaayyy... This is a matter of opinion - we find the lighting to be very nice.
"The dishwasher didn't clean good". - Thanks for the tip - the dishwasher has been replaced Mar 18 / 14

Great location and view; but a few disappointments too

Very good location with a spectacular view, right on a beautiful beach. But it is an exaggeration to call this a two bedroom unit. The configuration is odd. It has one bedroom that is private, but small and dark and very susceptible to noise from neighbors and parking lot. The other king bed is really in the living room; it has a beautiful view, but no privacy from the rest of the family or other guests in the unit. It can be closed off with a hanging screen; but the screen is not sound proof, and if the screen is closed there is almost no living space left on either side of the screen. Management is provided by someone who works for the owner of the unit, and the resort provides no services for this unit. The manager was very nice until he had our money; after that he was minimally responsive when there were small but irritating problems, such as closet rod flling off wall, replacement light bulbs needed, malfunctioning dishwasher, beach equipment in poor repair. OK internet, but no DVD player. Shortly after reserving the unit, we asked to shorten the stay by one day to facilitate a trip to Hana, but the manager would not cooperate; he was within his rights under the agreement, but the lack of courtesy was a disappointment.

Owner's Response: C'mon' DC ! - let's stick to the facts please...

"it is an exaggeration to call this a two bedroom unit" - all of the 96 Mana Kai units are virtually identical and they all advertise as 2 bedroom units, as they have since the 70s. There are many photos on the VRBO listing of the unit and the exact configuration, as well as many other units advertising on VRBO with similar photos. With all due respect, you had lots of time before your vacation to have a look at many photos of what you reserved.

"The manager was very nice until he had our money"

The replacement light bulbs are in the closet, "malfunctioning dishwasher" - thanks - it's been replaced, "beach equipment in poor repair" - this is not listed in our amenities list and is left behind by renters as a convenience. "OK internet, but no DVD player" - there is no DVD player in our amenities list, and rarely requested lately.

This one is really humerous DC !

- 21 days before their arrival the guests informed us that they would like to go to Hana on the last day of their vacation and could we try to re-rent their last day for them? We did have an open 5 days right after so we immediately agreed to their request. We then listed their last day as open on VRBO and other websites but no-one booked the open period. They later informed us that they had booked their 1 night in Hana only 4 days before they arrived even thou no-one had re-rented their last day. Even thru their stay we still continued to show the last day as available. Just goes to show that no good deed ever goes unpunished.

Nonetheless - we hope that you had a great vacation, and we continually strive to improve the condo and the guests vacation experience.
