|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Cosy 1 bedroom apartment in a historic canal house in a quiet and very popular residential area on the Amsterdam city island 'Prinseneiland', The island is like an old fashioned village within the center of Amsterdam, and is inhabited by a nice mixture of artists, expats and traditional Amsterdam people, close to the canals and main city’s attractions.
The apartment has a very nice feel with an 'authentic' style, an open, fully equipped kitchen in the living-room, a private bathroom with shower, wireless internet, a TV with international channels and of course a coffee maker. There are a double bed and a couch that can accommodate up to 3/4 people.
Everything in this apartment is in great condition!
The neighborhood is ideal located at about a 10 minutes walking distance from the busy city center with lots of restaurants and shops, The Ann Frank House, the Central Railway Station, the Red Light District, Dam Square and Westerpark and 3 nice markets on Mondays (arts and crafts-), Wednesdays (organic-) and Saturdays (farmers-).
In short, the perfect place to stay when in Amsterdam!
I'm Emmy and I'm an artist. I live and work in Amsterdam downtown and I just started recently a vacation rental apartment in this beautiful part of Amsterdam.
Emmy Brink purchased this apartment in 2013
I fell in love with Amsterdam, especially with this unique part of the center. After a lot of travelling, this place felt like home.
This ground floor apartment in a historic canal house, is located in a quiet and very popular residential area on the Amsterdam city island 'Prinseneiland', The island is like an old fashioned village within the center of Amsterdam, and is inhabited by a nice mixture of artists, expats and traditional Amsterdam people, close to the canals and main city’s attractions, shops, restaurants and bars.
Emmy is a brilliant, talented, hostess who provides a great deal of help and assistance if required. Our stay in Amsterdam was enriched by meeting Emmy and staying in her fully equipped apartment.
We highly recommend this place and look forward to returning, hopefully soon!
Thank you Emmy

The apartment by itself already earns 5 stars. It is on a small island called Prinseneiland and when we mentioned where we were staying to a transplanted Californian who runs a shop in Amsterdam's city center, she told us that we are staying in one of the nicest parts of Amsterdam. And it is, quiet and picturesque and yet so close and accessible to Amsterdam's attractions. It's a 3 minute walk from a local bus and tram station which is about 3-5 minutes ride from Amsterdam Centraal Station. But if you want to work towards your 10,000 daily (steps, that is), the station is just a 20 minute walk away.
But the clincher is the owner and host, Emmy. She is just so nice and friendly, starting from making arrangements with her before your arrival to your departure. She also has all the information you will ever need to appreciate the city and the surrounding neighborhood. We were there during the World Cup, before the Netherlands was (sadly) eliminated, and she encouraged us to visit nearby bars where we can watch the game in a festive and friendly atmosphere. It was a great suggestion. And she's filled with great suggestions.
I recommend her most vociferously and will absolutely stay there again the next time we visit Amsterdam.
This apartment was a true find and was such a perfect base for our Amsterdam adventuring! It is located within one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam which is so unbelievably beautiful and quiet. We had 5 of the best night's sleep ever! The apartment is within walking distance of Anne Frank's House and the museum quarter, which is also easily accessible via tram if you don't feel like walking through the city, one of our favourite parts of being in Amsterdam! Being so closely situated to the Jordaan there are so many great places to eat & have a coffee. There is a strong independent shop culture with great vintage/retro shops, record stores and markets within a 10 minute walk of the apartment. The Westerpark is close by too for picnics and generally watching the world go by, plus there is a great farmers market and bars and galleries in the converted buildings within the park area - a real find! One of our favourite adventures was walking to NEMO (Science Museum) and having lunch in the roof garden which has free entry and has staggering views over the whole city.
Emmy was an amazing host. The apartment was immaculate and exactly as depicted in the photographs. We absolutely plan to return to Amsterdam and fully intend to book our stay with Emmy as we couldn't have wished for a more perfect location or host! Thanks for making our first trip to Amsterdam so memorable Emmy!
My wife and I and our two daughters (ages 11 and 16) stayed in Emmy's apt. for 3 nights in August, 2013. The apartment was great, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. (exactly as in the pictures).
The best parts of the stay was the terrific location and the great host. The neighborhood is quaint, beautiful and quiet. Nearby were good restaurants, and very friendly locals. It is an easy walk to the city center, and lots of shopping and activities. We walked to the Anne Frank house, (about 20 mins), and the tram to the Rijksmuseum is about a 15 to 20 min trip, including the walk to the tram stop.
Emmy is a wonderful host, and lives upstairs, so she is available if needed. She offered us a warm welcome and good advice when needed. And thanks to Debbie for a beautiful boat trip through the canals. I wish we hadn't had to leave!
