|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Accommodations: Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Split Bath (Sleeps 6).
Edwardian flat (1500 sq ft/full floor) in the heart of Cole Valley (beautiful weather).
My furnished home is move-in ready and offers a gourmet kitchen (Sub Zero refrigerator), washer/dryer, split bath (toilet in one room, with sink and tub/shower in another), hardwood floors, two-room see-through gas fireplace and a southern facing sunroom with a deck that overlooks my neighbor's amazing garden. Lots of hot water and storage space.
Note: San Francisco can get chilly in the evenings and winter coats are cumbersome to pack. To ensure your comfort, there will be a selection of outer wear (multiple sizes) for you to use during your stay. Please leave any coats/jackets used in the Master bedroom when you leave so I may launder them for the next guest.
The commercial corridor features everything you'll need: postal chase, pharmacy/drug store, liquor store, hair, spa and nail salons and all manner of specialty stores.
The neighborhood has lots of coffee houses (Reverie, Crepes on Cole)and a great patisserie (La Boulange).
There's a wonderful new mexican restaurant (Padrecito) in addition to sushi (Grandeho's Kamekyo), italian (Bambinos), french (Zazie) and american (burgermeister, kezar pub) fare.
I am a mature, professional woman in my mid-50s. I have wonderful, respectful neighbors and am looking for people who are considerate of people and places on this earth -- especially my little piece of it.
My name is Nancy and I adore my home! My flat is in the middle of a three flat building -- James, the co-owner of the properly, lives in the garden unit and we rent the top floor to medical students.
My favorite room in the house is the sunroom (although my kitchen is a close second). The sunroom has great light throughout the day and overlooks a gorgeous garden. I enjoy biking to the beach and back (8 miles roundtrip and half is UP hill!) and/or hiking the nearby hills (twin peaks is located just to the south of me).
If you have ever dreamed of living in San Francisco and enjoying all that this very 'european city' has to offer, my home is a perfect choice.
Nancy D purchased this apartment in 1997
My 82 year old Mom lives in Michigan and needs a bit of help these days, so I spend months at a time in Ann Arbor. Because I have ready-to-live-in homes in both states, I have great flexibility regarding travel dates.
If you are looking for beauty, privacy, function and comfort, this lovely space has it all.
This apartment was in a great area of San Francisco - lots to do in the surrounding area and felt very safe. Transport was super easy with the N being a minute walk. I had meetings during my stay and it was like I delivered door-to-door.
The apartment was big - two good-sized bedrooms (one with sink) and huge lounge area. I didn't use the kitchen but it looked pretty well stocked.
My only gripe was the water pressure in the bathroom - and I couldn't enjoy the wonderful claw foot bath as the plug didn't keep all the water in but aside from that, everything worked fully and I think Nancy has thought of all the things you may need during your stay and supplied them.
This apartment was in the perfect location and a good size for our family get together. Our daughter lives in walking distance and the other kids/parent/friends are nearby. We walked to the Keith Haring exhibit at the de Young, stretched our limbs at the the Yoga Tree on Stanyon, had brunch on the Hornblower cruise in the bay, "hiked" to the top of Twin Peaks, shopped Union Square, enjoyed the double-sided fireplace, cooked up a storm in the large kitchen - lots of good grocery stores in the vicinity, ran to the beach and back (8 miles GGP perimeter run), and had comfortable sleeps.
This was an amazing apartment in my family's favorite neighborhood (Cole Valley, we used to live there). It's extremely close to great restaurants (Bambino's, Padrecito's, etc), Golden Gate Park, and the N-Judah train line is right there so you can be downtown in under 20 minutes.
As for the apartment, it was much larger than we expected. The bedrooms were a great size and the whole apartment gets a ton of sunlight. There is a beautiful fireplace and an amazing sunroom where we drank our morning coffee and read the news. It was very hard getting my wife to leave after four great days.
Our Cole Valley stay was great. The photos don't do the condo justice. The furniture was very comfortable, the sunroom with fireplace was a perfect place to read and relax. The neighborhood had nice little restaurants and shops that provided everything we needed. Public transportation was 1/2 block away. We would rent this condo again and highly recommend it.
What can I say? It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever entered. The lovingly designed apartment radiates through its Victorian elegance and at the same time from a rest, it's a joy. And the landlady Nancy is a real treasure.
And the location in SF is great. With tram stop, which leads directly into the city center or to the Pacific.
We were a party of three adults. This accommodation was very comfortable - the main being of a good size and the second bedroom a bit small. A well equipped kitchen and many home comforts. It is in a lovely location being in Cole Valley and about 15 mins from Union Square by public transport. The N Judah line is just across the road and goes every 15 mins. There are some lovely restaurants and bars in the locality.
Near a high street (shopping area), my home is located close to USF, grocery, shopping, restaurants, cafes and major bus lines.
Golden Gate Park is within easy walking distance and offers plenty to do, including bike riding and rollerblading (bike and rollerblade rental shops are three blocks away).
Within Golden Gate Park’s 1,017 acres you’ll discover gardens, playgrounds, lakes, picnic groves, trails, and monuments, plus an array of cultural venues, events, and activities.
Best known for its world-class attractions – the de Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences and the Conservatory of Flowers – the east end of Golden Gate Park is a great place to spend an afternoon even if you can’t afford any admission tickets. Rich in history and filled with gardens, statues, memorials and vistas, this end of the park offers experiences as light-hearted as a carousel ride and as sobering as a visit to the National AIDS Memorial Grove.
Don’t want to rent a car? No problem – my property is one block from the N Judah metro line (and a Zip Car station is three blocks away).
In addition to the local Cole Valley retail shops (one block away), the vibrant Haight Ashbury and Inner Sunset (Irving Street) dining and shopping areas are just steps away.
Easy walk or three stops on the Metro to UCSF, with great commute connections to Stanford and Berkeley. Going east on the metro it’s 20 minutes to the ball park (home of the World Champion SF Giants!) and 12 minutes to Union Square (more great shopping); going west it’s 15 minutes to Ocean Beach.
20 minutes and and an easy public transportation commute to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39.
