This is a wonderful wine country retreat. It is a quick 1/2 block walk to the Napa Valley Health Spa with a lovely pool, gym and spa treatments. It is also a short block to the darling town of St. Helena. In my opinion St. Helena is the best of the wine country towns. Our home provides access to all the wonders St. Helena has to offer including so many amazing restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, movie theater, wine tasting and generally a stunning and cozy atmosphere.

This home is located on a cute block just in back of the Tra Vigne restaurant and Pizzeria, Merryvale Winery and tasting room and the Napa Valley Health Spa. Gotts Roadhouse, Bello Vineyard tasting room, Farmstead restaurant and so many more are located on just the other side of Main Street! You couldn't possibly be more conveniently located.

We suggest enjoying the Napa Valley Health Spa in the mornings for exercise, spa treatments or lounge by the year-round heated salt water pool and hot tub.

Our home was built in 2003. It has 3 bedrooms, each with a king bed, all on the second floor. All of the beds are brand new and very high quality. Yves Delorme and Frette sheets and duvets on each of the beds are appropriate for our home.

There are 2 full baths on the second floor, each with a shower over tub. The master has a jetted tub. There is a powder room on the living floor.

There is plenty of parking both in a 2 car garage and also in the driveway.

Most of the furniture is brand new. The house has been newly painted and has brand new carpet with additional upgrades being completed all the time!

We hold a St. Helena short term rental permit #2013-15. We request only respectful parties. Loud noise, groups of more than 6 and events of any kind are not permitted.

We purchased this home for its wonderful location for enjoying St. Helena. We love to walk for coffee and breakfast in the mornings and out for dinner in the evenings. We love to have the spa/gym and all it has to offer with the beautiful, year round heated salt water pool and hot tub such a quick walk to the house (really it is about 8 houses away).

Great house and convenient location.

We had three couples in the house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The exterior of the house, the yard and the interior were all very attractive and inviting. The house was a very short walk to town where we found many restaurants, shopping, spas, and of course locations that offered wine tasting! We experienced several of the restaurants suggested by the owner of the home and enjoyed them all. In the evenings we were drawn to the backyard where we enjoyed wine, talked about the day and made plans for the next day. While on our vacation we went on the wine train, took a hot air balloon ride and of course visited many wineries. The ladies in the group especially appreciated the furniture and the décor of the home - it was beautiful. The beds were great and the 1/2 bath was an extra bonus when getting ready in the mornings. The owner of the house - Jill was very helpful in giving us suggestions of things to do before our trip and was kind to check on us when we arrived. She even sent us a message the day of our departure to warn us that a road was shut down and let us know we could stay longer if our flight was delayed. We would certainly recommend this house to our friends coming to visit Napa Valley.

Poor details, good pictures

My girlfriend and I booked this house for a Napa getaway. Even though there was just the two of us we liked the look of the house and it's location. The photos of the house did not reflect the quality of the furnishings or the cleanliness of the property. The linens on the beds were of poor quality and the pillows were mostly decorative! Nice for photos, bad for sleep. The towels were threadbare and more like what I use to wash my car. The sofa in the TV room was filthy. The shower doors were spotted and covered with a layer of soap scum. The grill had no propane and the oven and broiler were dirty from a previous guest. There is nothing so frustrating as realizing that you can either stay where you paid for or get in a dispute on your vacation. We stayed, and we were not happy. We will not use VRBO again.

Owner's Response: I am sorry and sad this guest did not have a wonderful stay at our home. I spend a huge amount of time and care trying to ensure that my home in St. Helena is in perfect condition. I always do my best to earn my guests 5 star reviews and have always prided myself on having extremely happy renters. Upon hearing about the propane, I immediately offered to either repay her for the propane if she wished to refill it herself, or take care of it myself first thing the next morning. I have also purchased and left a spare tank to make sure it doesn't again. In an effort to be as responsive as possible and always look to improve my home, I am replacing the shower doors. While they were not dirty, they do have some water stains. Other than that, I feel the comments are simply untrue. The home has 3 brand new, very expensive king beds. There are only Frette and Yves Delorme sheets and duvets in the house. Not knock-offs, real Frette and Delorme linens. All are in perfect condition and less than one year old. They are certainly not inexpensive. The pillows and duvets are all down and super comfy. Of course there are also decorative pillows in addition. The carpets are of high quality wool. The master bathroom has been updated (after the pics were taken). The kitchen counters, sink, faucets, tile, dishwasher are all less than 4 months old and are beautiful. The 2 couches, dining room table and chairs, outdoor table and chairs are all from Restoration Hardware and are all less than one year old. The downstairs rugs and upstairs window coverings are brand new and were chosen and purchased from my decorator. I take all the house photos myself since it is important to me to provide an accurate description and photos of my home. I have had nothing but happy renters for more than a year. At my other home in San Francisco, I have 33/35 perfect 5 star reviews. I will continue to always strive to provide 5 star accommodations as I take my rentals and my guests happy visit at our home very seriously.

The home was gorgeous and extremely well equipped - including a food processor and grill! The location was ideal and the only thing I would add would be a hot tub, but then again I probably would never leave if they had one!

St. Helena was the wedding destination for my son's wedding. Beautiful home centrally located near downtown. The home was very clean and the three bedrooms had very comfortable beds. Plenty of parking in the driveway. Will definitely rent this location again.

What a great house! Very comfortable and updated. Big beds, nice kitchen and located in a perfect location in St. Helena! Easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants.

We hardly used most of the available amenities as we were in Napa for an event. We will rent the house again on another visit.

This was my second trip to "wine country" - the first being a very pleasant family vacation to St. Helena in 2009. This time was no different - pleasant, relaxing, fun, you name it! Our choice of this rental home was a key component. For 2 couples, this home was spacious, cozy and well appointed. We spent some QT relaxing at the house, as it had most/all of the modern and luxurious amenities we enjoy back home (e.g., collection of good books, large television w/ good channels, wifi (w/ wireless printer/scanner), kitchen equipped w/ all the spices and gadgets for a good meal, bbq grill, etc. Of course, we spent the bulk of our time out and about - location, location, location. The home is tucked away on a quiet street. Albeit nothing spectacular or charming about the street itself, it's a stone's throw from the lush grounds of Merryvale (approx. 90 sec. walk). Thus, it's an unbeatable spot, and you can also take a 2-3 minute walk (along a shaded trail next to the spa) and end up in the heart of town (shops, restaurants, grocery store(s), etc.). There are many other sights, sounds, grapes and parks to enjoy in easy walking distance (or quick ride on/in the bike or car). We took full advantage of the location, and when we weren't turning our teeth purple, we spent time, e.g., at Crane Park playing bocce ball and visiting the farmer's market. Often we'd just start walking before pulling out our "bucket list" of places to visit & things to do. As for our (personal) favorite wineries, most were within a 3-7 minute drive. Again, too convenient.

I will also mention that we had a very pleasant experience in our dealings with Jill, the owner. Jill was always available, immediately, to address our needs. For example, she willingly modified our reservation when - at the last minute - we decided to stay an extra night. Backtrack to our arrival, Jill had an informative stack of maps, books and notes (personalized w/ recommendations) to guide us. To the extent you need local tips and knowledge, Jill served it up and was spot on.

I could easily name other perks about this rental, but the above should be enough to assist you in your decision. In fairness, I'm sure there are "fancier" places, whether it's the view or décor. However, unless you're a highly needy individual, I encourage you to look no further. I traveled the world, rented many a room/roof, and this home (and accompanying experience) is worthy of an excellent rating. Props to Jill.
