SEA VIEW. NOTE: WE ARE FULLY BOOKED FROM JULY 1 TO AUGUST 30, 2013

We (me, my husband and two boys aged 13 and 10) have just had the most fantastic holiday staying at this beautiful, well- maintained, well-equipped and spotlessly clean apartment. The view from the patio, where we ate our breakfast every morning, was stunning. The staff at Reception were lovely and so helpful; organising an airport transfer taxi for us, booking us a taxi for Slide and Splash, supplying a bus timetable for days out, getting us a starter pack of groceries for when we arrived and even keeping the tennis courts open late so we could play in the evening shade! There are several pools very close to the apartment and they were always clean and never too busy. We could always get sunloungers for the 4 of us. The town of Carvoeiro itself is a real gem and is just a short walk down the hill. We discovered many wonderful restaurants and need to go back again to continue working our way through them all! The evening entertainment is all free as there is usually live music on the stage just next to the beach. All in all it was a great holiday and we shall certainly be returning in the future.

This apartment is excellent, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need on holiday. The owners were a pleasure to deal with in arranging our holiday and bottle of wine from them on arrival was a lovely personal touch. The apartment is cleaned daily to a high standard. It has a beautiful terrace with a sea view, perfect for relaxing. Monte Dourado complex is also excellent, reception staff very helpful and good amenities on site. We particularly enjoyed the tennis courts!
Carvoeiro is delightful, very clean and friendly. Food excellent everywhere we ate. We visited Slide & Splash and some of the nearby towns as well.
Very highly recommended! Definitely planning to return next year!

We had a lovely stay at this apartment in Monte Dourado. The apartment is so well -appointed and equipped, we never felt we were missing any home comforts. The apartment is also kept immaculately clean, so you get a hotel feel with all the benefits of self-catering.

The complex itself is also very clean and tidy and the receptionists were helpful and friendly. It was easy to book tennis at short notice, but you can save some money by packing your own tennis rackets.

The owner's gift of a bottle of wine was a lovely welcome and recommendations for car hire (Travelrent) and restaurants were also very useful. Casa Algarvia was a favourite for dinner and Cafe Fino for breakfast, smoothies and cocktails. They also have free wi-fi which is very handy if you have teenagers.

Carvoeiro itself is very pretty, clean and unspoilt. It is quite hilly but it only takes a few minutes from the apartment to town (down some steps close to the apartment which we discovered half-way through our holiday) so we didn't find that was a problem at all.

We visited the mountains and had home-made 'piri-piri' chicken at one of the many restaurants with outstanding views. Ferraguda is a lovely village not far away & there is a beautiful beach on the way (Caneiros). We also had a lovely day at a nearby water park 'Slide and Splash'. There is also an 'Aqualand' but that is quite a bit further away and we felt it was better to have such a short journey 'home' after a tiring day. Portimao was worth a visit for the restaurants competing to offer the best value and most generous portion of grilled fresh sardines!

We hope to return to Carvoeiro and would choose to stay in this apartment again.
