More attractions: 29km. Montpellier Le Vieux. Take an extraordinary journey through a surprising world of strangely formed rocks. Water and wind have sculpted these contorted shapes in the grey stone of the Causses Noir, creating a fantastic world of bewitching forms, decorated by a tender flora which evolves through the seasons, resulting in an infinitely changing environment. The surrounding area is well worth a visit and there are several restaurants/cafes which serve reasonable and appetizing food. Few medieval sites in France are as well preserved and this houses an abundance of restaurants, gift shops and an amazing Creperie.

23km. Roquefort-sur-Soulzon. Located on the Causse du Larzac and famous for the ewe's milk Roquefort cheese. Tres bon séjour

  • Submitted: Oct 6, 2012
  • Stayed: Jul 2012

"sieste" a Marseillan-plage.

Wonderful place to stay for family holiday

Probably the best self-accommodating holiday I’ve had in a long time – great house with plenty of room for a mum and two children looking for fun, adventure and plenty of relaxation.

The house totally exceeded my expectations. It was clean, spacious and very well presented. For someone who loves to cook – the kitchen was perfect with everything I needed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable – especially the beds and with two bathrooms – ideal for me and a teenage son. Lots of storage too. There was plenty to do – both locally and further afield. We spent most of our time exploring and swimming either at the Lido or in the river Dourbie, where we discovered wonderful hidden places to dive, swim and chill out. We even drove to Sete and spent a day on the beach – sailing and sunbathing which was well worth the 90 min drive.

During the evening we either chilled out at the house, or visited the rather lovely Bar de Claux run by Bruno and Ge Ge who were always very friendly and welcoming. We took our bikes which I thoroughly recommend as there were great places to cycle to. All in all a brilliant place to stay and intend to go back – next Spring in fact!

Spacious property in an excellent location to enjoy the facilities in this small town in the Cevennes. The two shower/bathrooms and woodburner helped make our stay very comfortable.
