A beautiful country estate comprising a large Gothic style manor house (5000 sq ft) with a commanding hill top setting (views 360 degrees), set in 5 acres of park like grounds and a further 15 acres of paddocks and is approached by a 1km private driveway and all one hour from London.   • The swimming pool is generally opened from June to the middle of September, weather permitting. However the hot tub and sauna are open all year around. A damage deposit of £1,000 is payable in cleared funds, this is returned after departure less the cost of gas and electricity used during the stay (approx £80 without the pool open or £150 with it open).
  • No marquees, sorry, maximum of 16 guests on the site at any time. No Stag parties, sorry. We are unable to host weddings.

PART 1: Wow!

My sister and I arranged a hen weekend (ages 27-41), staying Friday to the Monday morning and it was such a fantastic weekend. After experiencing a full weekend at Heron Hall I can confirm that it was the best possible choice out of all the hundreds we looked at.
Arranging everything for everyone down to the finest details was a LOT of work, but the owner Nicky made everything on her side very easy. She was on hand to answer any questions and make suggestions. She was very nice, helpful and also got back to me straight away each time I had a query. We also got our deposit back the next day, so no issues there.

The photos of the property do not do it justice at all. I remember just being totally gobmacked as we drove up the private drive way for the first time and once parked up, we ran around the house and grounds like excited little children seeing snow for the first time! All I will say is, save the lower ground floor for last!

We organised lots of fun things to do, but we didn't actually need to have gone to so much trouble as its easy to entertain yourself at the house.
We had make your own pizza + instruction & cupcake decorating (both by my sis), we had a superhero party, a mexican banquet, BBQ, scavenger hunt. Oh and did I mention the naked butler? Nicky recommended Andy and he was a brilliant Choice. He was (obviously hott) intelligent, respectful and we all felt completely at ease with him. He was also very personable, fun and up for anything! We had no idea what to expect, in fact were a bit dubious but we were very pleasantly surprised!

There were lots of cool things and special little touches that are not mentioned on the website that I will just run through.
In the cinema/disco room there is a dress up cupboard! This gave us hours of entertainment! LOADS of outfits for every size and inclination!
The 'fun room' also has a proper sound system/DJ booth area with all the plugs you would need (so easy to hook up a laptop/ipod) The lazers in the fun room are also brill.

There is a games room with everything from Monopoly to science games!

There is a fridge outside in the sauna/hottub area and I'm obsessed with cold drinks! Which leads me to the main fridge - it has an ice dispenser!

Outside there is a field with sheep in and when you go over to the sheep they run as fast as they can to say Hi to you (and of course to get you to give them food!) which was really cute and fun.

PART2 Wow! Amazing place to stay!

My review continuation
...The hot-tub is extra fun at night as the water becomes all lit up with different colours and which leads me onto the bathrobes. Upon arrival each bed has a towel and a bathrobe on it. The bathrobes were such a great touch as getting in and out of the hot-tub can be very nippy but most of all because the robes were SO soft and snuggly, the materiel made them feel like they were brand new. The robes became the weekend's hottest new fashion look. Although towels and robes were provided I would still all take a towel each (as we did) because you will be having so much fun in the pool/hot-tub that you might need a dry spare.

I know this is a boring thing to mention, but there was loads of loo roll, so we didn't run out and have to go to the shops!

There is a pantry/food storage room which made it easy for everyone to know what food there was and find it easily.
There were cupboards in the kitchen which had cooking spices/cooking additives which was really useful, as usually places don't even have salt and pepper.
There is every kind of plate/bowl/cup/glass imaginable and plenty of them! So each type of occasion/meal was covered.
There were also paper plates/plastic cutlery for when we were feeling lazy!
The kitchen had a serving door into main the dining room so you could easily pass food through AND in the dining room side of the serving door there was a metal hot plate, which was invaluable when trying to serve and keep meals for 16 people warm!
There are 2 ovens & the main oven had lots of gas rings as well, again invaluable when cooking for so many!
Basically the kitchen had everything covered for every eventuality, which was another real treat. There was even one gadget that I couldn't work out its purpose :)
I'm not into ironing (I ironed a hanky for my ironing brownie badge, but that's about it) but there was a supped-up-super iron, washing machine and dryer if you need.

I think that's about it, but as you can tell, we had an amazing weekend and Heron Hall surpassed all expectations and allowed my sister and I to bask in complements about how well we had done arranging such a brilliant venue.

Hen Do celebration at Heron Hall

We celebrated my sisters Hen Do at Heron Hall. All I can say that it was absolutely fantastic!! We paid a little extra to hire the outdoor pool a week earlier than it was usually opened, and was worth every penny! We spent the day times relaxing, swimming, diving (yes there's a diving board!) sliding (and yes there's a slide!) and most importantly sunbathing (the weather was perfect!) outside, and the evenings partying in the downstairs dance room!!

The kitchen was equipped with everything that is needed, and the lovely dinning room is perfect for 16 guests. The bedrooms are good, (some bigger than others) but still all just grand.

The dance room downstairs is equipped with CD player as well as i pod connection and a great sound system. It has a projection screen too to watch a multitude of dvds which because the weather was so good we didnt get round to utilising unfortunately. It also has....poles! We booked a lady to have pole dancing lessons with which was absolutely hillarious to say the least!

Is a beautiful house with a lot of character and many lovely rooms, including a game room, a large lounge, a kitchen, a dinning room and a downstairs 'club' area. The patio before you come to the pool area is also lovely and very scenic.

And lastly, the lady that owns the property is absolutely lovely and so so helpful. She is on call if anything is up (not that there ever is!) and will be there in an instant. She is also great on communication before hand (I harrassed her om email a lot for things leading up to our stay!) and is very responsive with any queries you many have. She also has a wide list of vendors that can be used for your stay (beauticians, chefs, waiters; we had a cocktail making class and a pole dancing lesson there as mentioned!!)

Overall, our stay was for 2 nights, and was not long enough! Loved loved loved it! Will be going back as soon as possible!

Beautiful Country House

Perfect location for a peaceful break. Located in a beautiful countryside with breath taking views, not far from the village or (for those that wish to explore further afield) Dorking/Horsham/Guildford/Gatwick Airport. The house has fantastic and well maintained facilities from an outdoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi to an amazing party den complete with disco lights and a DJ booth! The owners are extremely welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend this property to friends/relatives. First class stay at a 5* property!

The place for celebrations

In order to ease the transition into 40, I organised a weekend at this property.
What a fantastic experience for both adults and children.
We didn't need to leave the property all weekend. It was very clean and we had everything we could possibly need, and more.
The owners were exceptionally helpful and willing to assist with information on the area.
Highly recommended.
