15th floor Ilikai Marina Apartment Building has fabulous views! It's situated directly on the water with a 180-degree oceanview. As you stand on the lanai (balcony) of this condo, you look straight out to see the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor below and the crystal-clear, turquoise ocean waters beyond. You'll also see surfers, tug boats pulling barges, cruise ships, freighters, a myriad of small craft, and the Friday afternoon yacht races. Includes parking and wifi.
To the left lies the Hilton Hawaiian Village with its own lagoon and fireworks every Friday evening. To the right, you'll see the Ala Moana Beach Park, Magic Island with it's lagoon and a view of downtown Honolulu skyline. Topping it off, you'll often see fantastic rainbows and glorious sunsets from the lanai.
Activities abound! Waikiki's large, white-sand beaches are minutes away. Ala Moana Beach Park is just a five-minute saunter away. World-renowned Ala Moana Shopping Center is only a ten-minute walk. Taking the street route, you can stroll through Waikiki, passing world-class stores. The beach route takes you from the Ilikai Marina, past Fort DeRussy and the Army Museum, to the historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel where you can relax with a cool drink and listen to traditional Hawaiian music in the evening. There's also an abundance of night life in Waikiki!

Hungry? Waikiki is full of great restaurants. In fact,there are four good restaurants on the bottom floor of the Ilikai Marina Building: the Chart House, the Outback Steak House, the Red Lobster, and a pizza restaurant.
Just renovated and with new furnishings, our condo gives you a luxurious, executive environment featuring contemporary and Asian furniture, air-conditioning, a fully-equipped kitchen, and an entertainment center featuring a new flat-screen TV and DVD. This condo definitely shows its age. We had family staying in several other units in the building and all had been renovated and were in much better repair than this unit. The carpet is dirty, the kitchen is very dated and the bathroom was dingy. We found it to be rather poorly equipped too. There were only about 10 drinking glasses in the kitchen, none matched, some were plastic and all were badly etched from the dishwasher. The sofa bed was uncomfortable for my children, and there were only 2 thin blankets provided for it. The unit had only 4 bath towels total, no dish towels for wiping dishes, and 3 beach towels? We had to borrow a beach towel from our friends for the week. This unit could use a serious cleaning and restocking. The building is in a good location with quick and easy access to the beach, lagoon and shopping center, but I would definitely not choose this unit again. It was cheap, and that was reflected in every aspect of the unit. There were two boogie boards in the closet but one is broken in half. One more thing . . . There was only one plug in in the kitchen, so we could not use the toaster and the coffee maker at the same time. I would have to unplug the coffee maker and let the coffee get cold while we were making toast.
My wife and I stayed here for 11 days in February. The condo is fully equipped, including wifi and dishwasher (which are not mentioned in the description). I can't think of anything that was missing from the kitchen. The queen bed is very comfortable and the new furniture is high-end. It's true that the lanais in these units are very small but there is just enough room for 1 or 2 beach chairs from the closet. The location is terrific! Views are the best -- the 15th floor provides a great vantage point to look to the beach and lagoon on the left, the marina and ocean everywhere and Ala Moana park on the right. We rented a car and the $20/day parking is right in the building. We hope to stay here again and recommend it highly.
Me and a friend recently stayed 3 nights in this unit, it was everything it said it would be!! The building is in a great location and keep up well. Parking in the building was easy and the staff there is very organized. The views from the lanai will take your breath away, mahalo Camille, and I will recommend this unit to friends !!
I just returned from a 5 week stay at this unit. Three weeks were by myself, the last 2 were with my wife and 8-year old son. I must say that this apartment turned out to be much better than expected. Since I wasn't familiar with the area, and this was one of the few units I could find in Wikiki that was available and was near water with ocean views, I had some concerns before my arrival. But, I am definitely happy with my choice and would rent this apartment again if I ever come back to Oahu. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
The unit was very clean and the furniture looked new. The bed was very comfortable. It had a typical sofa bed, but my son had no complaints. All appliances worked without problems. The view from the lanai is fabulous. You can clearly see the Hilton Lagoon and the Friday night fireworks to the left. To the right you can see Honolulu and wonderful sunsets. Straight ahead and down you get a great view of the Marina. I took some great pictures of various sea life from the lanai as it swam in the waterway directly below the unit (I have a decent zoom lens). This included sea turtles, spotted rays, puffer fish, small barracuda, and a small shark. The lanai is shaded until about 1pm, so it was great to sit out there all morning and relax in the cool breeze. The lanai is very small, though. That is my only minor complaint about the unit. You can get 2 chairs facing each other on it, and that's about it.
The location of the Ilikai Marina offers an easy walk to the huge Ala Moana shopping center and the Waikiki shopping/restaurant district. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and all it has to offer. The nice thing is that you can walk back and get away from the Hilton noise and crowd. There is an attached parking garage ($20/day normal price). The garage does have a much cheaper monthly rate (calendar month), so ask about that if you stay for a week or more.
While the VRBO page doesn't mention it, there was a Wireless Internet router in the unit. Not the fastest Internet speed, but good enough to stream movies and TV episodes. There is also a Dish Washer in the kitchen. There is a laundry room on the 8th floor that has 7 washers and 7 dryers. Bring lots of quarters. The unit also had a beach umbrella, boogie boards, and beach toys.
Overall, I am glad I chose to stay at this unit. More importantly, my wife and son were also very happy with the unit.
