IN THE SHADOW OF THE FARNESE PALACE

Campo de' Fiori Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Suite Farnese is an elegant, spacious and attractively furnished apartment locat

The apartment, ideal for a couple but it can sleep four, is located on a narrow medieval street that is around the corner from the beautiful Piazza Farnese with its elegant Renaissance palace, it is situated only five minutes from the bustling, outdoor Campo dei Fiori market and the magnificent Piazza Navona. The area, just a stone’s throw from the Tiber River, is in an area filled with boutiques, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is also within walking distance of major tourist attractions such as Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum and the Vatican and is just across the river from Rome’s Greenwich Village, Trastevere.

The apartment itself - 100 square meters (1075 square feet) is divided into a spacious kitchen, a dining-living room, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a bathroom and a guest bathroom; it is furnished with an understated elegance and is a place where you will feel totally at home. The apartment is fully furnished, including towels and linens and has heating, air conditioning, wifi and TV. A weekly cleaning is provided for those who stay for more than one week. Only steps away is lovely Via Giulia, the road built by Pope Julius the II on the early 16th century to provide pilgrims with an easier route to Saint Peter’s and the Vatican.

This ancient neighborhood, rich in history, is an intriguing one, not least because of the complexity of a social fabric that allowed magnificent palaces to stand alongside more modest dwellings. Indeed, the apartment is in a small 16th-century construction across the street from the Farnese Place and that is said to have been built to house the artists and artisans that were working on the Palace, today the French Embassy, but in an earlier era the richly-decorated and furnished residence of the Farnese princes.

Come and stay at Suite Farnese, we will make your stay so enjoyable you will never want to go home.

A GEM in ROMA

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I travelled to Rome for our anniversary recently. We have always had good luck renting in major cities so we took the leap in Rome as well and were thrilled with our decision. First let me say that the pictures presented, while very nice, do not begin to do this apt justice and we blown away when we got there as we were so pleasantly surprised. Here are some reasons as to why we were so happy.
* The owner was very easy to work with and was very honest and responsible throughout the process. She made us feel very comfortable with our booking decision from the first second.
* The apt was immaculately clean and much larger than we expected.
* 2 bathrooms was awesome
* The master bath is absolutely beautiful with a spa shower rivaling any top spa or hotel.
* The bedding was top quality and the bed is wonderfully comfortable.
* The full kitchen while greatly underused by us was very clean and well outfitted for use.
* The location was great steps away from the French embassy and the Campo dei Fiori. In general we found the apartment very centrally located to all the major sights and we never had to take a taxi our whole time in Rome.
* If I had to come up with a critique of any sort it is that the apartment was on the first floor of the building. The windows open and there are protective bars so we felt 100% safe but there was some street noise with the windows open particularly on the weekend nights. I am a light sleeper though and it really wasn't a big deal. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Great Apartment in the Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5
This is the fourth time we have rented an apartment in the Campo di Fiori area and this was by far the best!

We met the owner and she told us that she has very few reviews because the apartment has only been available for one year. Do not let this deter you.

The apartment is spacious and well designed with a good kitchen with full sized refrigerator and a high quality gas range. The bed is very comfortable and the furnishings and fittings are well designed, more like a home than a rental.

The apartment is on a quiet street half a block from the Piazza Farnese and half a block the other way from Via Giulia, just where the famous arch with the vines hanging down is located.

I want to go back soon.

A Perfect Apartment in a Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5
After a long flight from Australia our arrival at the apartment went very well with a good explanation of key things about the apartment and the surrounding area including restaurant and grocery shopping details. I was even taken through Campo de Fiori with specific restaurants pointed out and then left outside the Despar minimarket in Corso del Rinascimento. The apartment is exactly as per photographs and was perfect for our stay of one month.

The apartment was cleaned weekly and we kept in contact periodically by email to ensure that all was well and to provide guidance/assistance as needed.

Buses are very convenient with "too much choice" along Vittorio Emanuele and Rinascimento. Once you understand that the nearby Piazza Venezia is a major hub it is easy to get back home. Google maps has the bus routes and provides the bus number, times and stop locations as does the http://viaggiacon.atac.roma.it/ (click on calculate route - lower left of screen).

Their recommendation of Trattoria Roscioli off the Campo is a "must" (3 times for us) as is Da Sergio & Piperna in the Jewish Quarter, Il Matriciano via dei Gracchi and L'Isola dell Pizza in Via degli Scipioni both in Prati.

The heating was excellent - early March was quite cold. The only slight negatives were that the walls are so thick that mobile reception could only be obtained at the windows and you needed to go outside to see if the sun was shining.

We thoroughly recommend this apartment, my wife has an injured knee so its proximity to the activities and sights was excellent.

Comfortable, elegant, and fantastically located

  • 5 of 5
I recently stayed in Suite Farnese for two weeks. I was having work done in my own apartment in Rome and needed a place to stay. This apartment is delightful; it is squeaky-clean, well furnished, well equipped and boasts top quality sheets and towels. Furthermore, it is in a fantastic location: right across the side street is the right flank of the magnificent Renaissance Farnese Palace and Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona are only a few minutes away. The owner, Margherita, is gracious and accommodating.

The apartment near Campo di Fiori was remarkably large, and well decorated and furnished. The appliances and air conditioning all worked fine. I'd say it was about 1000 sq. ft as advertised. Most are half this size. The location is perfect for walking to such sites as the St. Peters, Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and Trastavere. The Colisseum and Spanish Steps are doable but mostly for the energetic. A great array of good restaurants and shopping also within walking distance.
Traffic noise is moderate but better than most. The owners were charming and very accommodating.

The only negatives could be a general one of any site in Rome not near the Metro: the bus system is difficult. They are overcrowded and the routes and scedules are fairly incomprehensible to non-locals, even with the bus map and website. Taxis are fairly reasonable, however.
