Mill Creek is a mid-century modern home with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Just 10 minutes from Healdsburg square, it is completely private on 50 acres filled with Redwoods and Madrones. It's like being in your own secluded park.
The house has a complete, remodeled kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook a great meal. There are 2 remodeled bathrooms and a huge, furnished deck. Sit out, eat out, grill out, enjoy the privacy and views of the redwoods, madrones and mountain ridge. The huge stone fireplace uses BioFuel sparing the environment and producing great heat. Bring your music and stream to the built in sound system, or watch DirecTV on the 55' TV. The beds are great as are the sheets and comforters.
Hike our private trails, relax on the enormous deck, or take in the many wineries that are less than 10 minutes from the front gate. If you like biking, explore our street, Westside Road and West Dry Creek Road. Feel like getting wet? Rent a canoe and go out on Russian River. Wind down on the deck in complete privacy.
Healdsburg is just 10 minutes from the house and offers world class dining, shops and wine tasting. Our manual includes a list of our favorites. Great food stores and more are just 9 minutes from the house.
DRIVEWAY NOTE: Our home is on a hillside. The driveway is paved but contains curves and one switchback. Most drivers handle the driveway easily, but it is windy and steep. Please use caution, especially when wet.
SMOKING NOTE: Our home and property are completely non-smoking. Smoking is not permitted in the house or anywhere on the property.
It's hard to find complete comfort and privacy so close to Healdsburg and Wineries. Enjoy!
We love the quiet, nature trails, hiking, biking, great wine and great food.
Eric & Jeff purchased this house in 2011
Mill Creek is a special place. With amazing privacy and vies, it is close to Healdsburg and like living on your own private park. Bike or drive less than 10 minutes to world class wineries including Russian River and Dry Creek.
This mid-century modern home has been completely renovated and has everything you need to relax indoors or out. Hike on the property and then come in for a great meal in the complete kitchen. If you're in the mood for fantastic restaurants and shopping pop into Healdsburg just 10 minutes away.
After staying here for a weekend, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Here's why:
1) Beautiful house: Clean, modern, gorgeous views, well-appointed kitchen, giant fireplace, large bedrooms, luxurious beds and bedding, fantastic grill outside with large deck.
2) Perfect location: You are in the middle of a redwood forest, hiking trails outside your front door, and most importantly, a short drive from all of the wineries in Healdsburg and well as downtown Healdsburg.
3) Great hosts: very responsive and provided great instructions for how to take care of the place and enjoy it as much as possible.
Thanks for a fantastic weekend! We will definitely be back.
Keep in mind that I use vrbo every stay in Sonoma for past 10 years and this was the best house for the following reason (my opinion):
Closest to the best wineries in the U.S.-Dry creek and healdsburg are you kidding?
Best location for hiking
Best location for wilderness, trees, redwoods (guernville is also good)
Best overall location
Best sound system
Best star gazing
Best....you need to see for yourself
We savored every moment of our time in this house. Yes, the driveway is scary, especially the first time up and down. But, oh, is it ever worth it! The views from the top are wonderful.
We spent our days exploring the many nearby sights. One day we drove to Korbel Winery for tasting and lunch, the Armstrong Redwood Forrest for a walk, and then to the coast for an exciting drive up highway 1. We still made it home before dark! Other favorite wineries were Ferrari-Carano (call to schedule a free tour) and Francis Ford Coppola (great restaurant). When we didn't feel like driving away, we enjoyed restaurants, tasting rooms and shopping right in Healdsburg Square. Willie's Seafood was our favorite.
The beds are comfortable and the owners have provided everything you need. Because of all the windows, the outside seems part of the living space. There are no other houses in view, giving a sense of complete privacy. We started and ended our day on the deck. The sun rising through the mist over the trees was stunning, topped only by the full moon and stars at night. The air is fragrant with the smell of redwoods. This is a very special house!
Gorgeous view in beautiful secluded property! Pictures don't do it justice! And lovely accommodations. Stayed here with second married couple for beginning of their honeymoon and it was perfect! Short drive (about 10 minutes) to Healdsburg and great place to stay to tour all the wineries in the Dry Creek area.
The home exceeded our expectations! We toured wineries by day and retreated to this beautiful home to cook a quiet dinner and relax on the deck under the stars by night. The house is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Healdsburg is a delightful town and is a great location as home base for touring the Dry Creek Valley. You can reach St. Helena in about 1 hour 15 minutes if you feel the need to head south. We had a wonderful visit and hope to return again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Great house - very clean and comfortable. Very functional kitchen. Like spending the weekend in a large tree house.
