Stunning Victorian home with city views and large outdoor deck space cheaper than Manhattan closer to Times Square. (8-12)
2 bedrooms just across the Hudson river with private deck and magnificent NYC views! 8 minutes from Times Square with the bus stop right outside your door.
This property is for guests that want to be 8 min from (2.8 miles) Times Square and without paying New York City vacation rental prices. You can be in Times Square faster than someone who lives on the upper east side or even downtown.
A unique old school railroad setting apartment large kitchen living room a bedroom with a closet separated by 2 doors from living room and master bedroom.
The master bedroom is huge sunny with lots of windows in addition to a large 3 closets and attached small room perfectly can be used for a nursery for families that visits with small ones. Ceiling fans are throughout the apartment. The apartment is on a full floor with 2 entry's.
We do have other properties in the city which are dark small and more expensive but this one is my favorite. This lovely prewar home is located in Weehawken, NJ, which is right outside the Lincoln tunnel.
First and foremost, the views are jaw dropping. You can dine in the kitchen all while staring at the city. Views are from uptown, right across from you is the empire state building, and you can even see the new freedom tower. You can imagine what this view looks like at night. This view is unbeatable! Who wants to stay in the city and stare a brick wall in front of your face! With this outdoor deck, you can relax, tan, BBQ, and sip your drink… not to mention watching the 4th of July Macy's firework show from this deck. Unique tile kitchen and 120 year old wood floors in the living space.
NYC apartments tend to be very small, tight and claustrophobic at time I use to leave in east 30th street and 5th ave for the past 10 years unless if you are paying for a penthouse $ 800 a night (not talk about the new law forbidden to rent an apartment less the 28 days this is the reason we got this property) The light, views, the amount of windows and the deck make this apartment much more airy and comfortable to lounge, tan and relax even if you don’t feel to go outside.
The buses are at your door steps and coming every 2 min until late night and they have a dedicated bus lane straight to Manhattan so you don't have to wait when busy @ $3 per ride and if you buy the tickets at window 23 at port authority entry on 40th street and ave the bus is in gate 51 down the stairs you can get the the bus ticket for $2.50 if you have small kids just put them on your lap and you will not have to pay for extra seat this what i do with my 6 years old when we go to the city. Every bus stop at your door step because we are the last station before entering Manhattan which drops you at 42nd street.
Walgreen is just across the street and up the block you can find plenty of restaurants Italian, Indian Chinese, Turkish and more. There are a pizzeria and Laundromat just around the corner with pick up and dropping service if you don't feel like doing it yourself.
Taxes are 7%
Taxes in New York are 15% -22% renting this apartment you are closer to the city and paying half of the taxes
I work in the city it taking me 8-12 min with the bus and 5 min with my motorcycle.
for those who coming from JFK the easiest and cost effective way to get to the flat is as a suggestions if you want to save the car service fee which will be about 70-100 $ the fastest way is to take the Air Train to sutphin BLVD , catch the E express train to 42nd street port authority, go to gate 51 hop on the Jitney bus to Weehawken , get off park avenue ( 1st station outside Manhattan ) cross the street the building is on the left will take you about 1 hour and change, and about 15 $ per person.
important point to your advantage – if you coming from the east coast, Midwest or any distance you choose to drive I will give you a family/friend permit for the car you will save money on airfare and where we are there are no street alternate side parking, no summons, a safe area and you can park the car for days this will be great advantage for you as we are extremely close to Manhattan without worries parking the car in the city while saving money traveling.
we do have property in the city but this one is by far my favorite one, the properties in Manhattan are much less livable then that one and are more expensive . I leave 0.5 from Lincoln Flat.
The deck, the vibe, the large amount of windows the views and energy in this apartment is cool surrounding with old charm sometime I will work from there and my family will come and hang out because they like the apartment it gives a relaxing and a suiting feeling.
IB purchased this apartment in 2013
The Large private Deck, the closeness to Manhattan the ease of transportation and the amazing views.
The views from the kitchen and the outdoor space
Our recent 7 day stay in this apartment was great. The View of the New York Skyline is amazing.
Iben is very friendly, caring and well organized.
The Bus goes VERY OFTEN and is only a few meters from the Apartment & in 10 minutes you are in Time Square for $2.50.
Supermarket, liquor store etc are an easy walk away.
We enjoyed the fact that we experienced how people live in New Jersey, and commute to New York - it gave us a more rounded view of the Big Apple.
We were a little worried about the layout of the bedrooms, but since this is the only apartment on the floor - it is no problem to go through the landing to the main living area, if you don't want to go through the other bedroom.
We would stay here again, in a heartbeat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this nice and cozy home. Iben is a gracious and caring host. We stayed here for a week and was truly a home away from home.
The house in itself is a charm. The views from the kitchen are breathtaking. Rooms are pretty spacious and lovely. House is well kept. Comfortably furnished. Very relaxing to unwind here at the end of the day and have dinner overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
This place is an ideal launchpad for people visiting the big apple and its vicinity. 10-15 mins via public transport and we were at Times Square, any time during the day. This place is pretty close to several grocery shops and restaurants/pizzeria's, all within a short walk from here.
Highly recommended for families and individuals who want good quality stay at very competitive rates and a friendly and wonderful host.
We are sure to keep this as our first choice for our visits in future. Thanks Iben!
Three of us spent 4 nights in this apartment mid-July... we made our reservations only a week in advance and as the property owner had a previous engagement the day of our arrival, we were met by the housekeeper to receive the keys... She was very polite and answered all of our questions. We could all tell she takes pride in her work because the whole apartment was VERY clean.
We drove into the area and were provided with a free parking pass to park on the street... the neighborhood is lively and seems perfectly safe... there's a good selection of businesses nearby and we enjoyed walking around to visit them. (I see a few of the other reviewers mention traffic noise however this did not bother the 3 of us at all.)
The staircase leading up to the apartment has carved/wood railings and stained glass!...The pictures in the ad give a good idea of what to expect once inside, but do not do justice to the charm and good vibes I felt in person... I felt comfortable immediately! The restored floors, unique tile on kitchen walls, and brightness from the many windows all create an inviting atmosphere... rooms are spacious (especially kitchen/dining area and master bedroom)... plenty of storage space.... the furniture/decorative choices are practical and attractive...and there are lots of little details and extras to discover throughout.
Of course the view is a big selling point... it is a constant reminder of where you are and kept me
excited about the adventures waiting across the river in NYC. The balcony is huge and a perfect
evening/morning hangout. I loved this feature... we spent a lot of time out there.
Travel into Manhattan is easy... the bus stop is directly across the street as others have mentioned.
The buses really do come every few minutes and once you get on, the next stop lands you right
in the city very close to Time Square. To get back to the apartment we used gate 212 at the Port Authority up until 10pm and gate 325 after that... we got off at the Hess gas station and took a short walk up the hill to the apartment. (There may be an even easier way, but this worked fine for us.)
Overall, we were all impressed with this property and will be suggesting that friends/family stay here in the future... Very satisfied!!! Property owner met us for check-out and was a gentleman...very kind and welcomed us back. I sincerely hope to take him up on the offer!... my trip was enhanced because of staying here.
The pictures truly indicate what awaits you at this interesting apartment. It is on the second floor, and has an amazing deck. We spent a lot of time there as the views were great and although its next to a busy road, its all part of the New York experience and wasn't really a bother at all.
The interior is really nicely done. Over time, I think if the owners add an info sheet providing information on getting around and local restaurants, stores, etc in the neighborhood, it will be really helpful.
The back room has a door to the hallway, and we used that to get to the bathroom. The alternative is to go through the first bedroom. Kitchen had everything we needed, living room was comfortable, overall very nice.
Owners were vert helpful, met us right when we got there.
Property very clean.
So much better than a hotel as you can get an idea of what life is like for ordinary New Yorkers. Some good shops nearby for food, wine, etc.
Very easy access by bus to center of city - this was huge as being new to the city, it's a challenge to figure out how to get around. The bus stop is right across the street- $2.50 gets you to a couple blocks from Times Square!
We very much enjoyed our stay, would love to stay there again.
I've just taken my Mum for her first trip to NY, had a fantastic time. As other reviews say, the view was amazing! Very quick and easy to get into the centre of town, there seemed to always be a bus at the stop. There was a noisy road next door, but it was nice to get out of the busy city to a quieter area at the end of a long day. And it only takes 10 minutes from Time square. The house was lovely and clean. The only problem was having to go through one bedroom to get to the other...
Our 5 night stay at this property far exceeded my expectations based upon the photos and few reviews I read. Iben was a charm to work with meeting me at the property and holding our hands answering questions and helping direct us to our locations! We were exhibitors at the ICFF 2013 at Javits Center. We were two budget conscious co-workers who needed a quick and easy way to get into the city and back. The property was recently updated and very clean. New pillows, sheets, appliances etc! The bed and futon were very comfortable and there was plenty of room in case you would need a 3rd or 4th person to stay. The jitney stop was directly across the street and every two minutes once came and traveled straight through the tunnel into Times Sq. We got off a few streets before and had a very short walk to Javits. Best part, it was only $3.00 each way, per person. The property included a spectacular view of NYC from the large wooden deck and we enjoyed watching the city light up each evening. I would strongly suggest renting this property when coming to visit the city, just not the first week of May because you will find me here year after year!!
we are very close to Manhattan 8-12 minuets , we also close to Hoboken which you can explore lots of bars and restaurants Edge water area have lots of restaurants bars and shopping .
